It’s hard to believe that only a short distance from the Vegas strip you can find yourself in some of the most beautify country this nation has to offer. The tour itself is awesome, hitting highlights of the red rock canyon while also accessing some of what I would think are lesser known gems that most tourists will never see. The guide was super knowledgeable about the area geography as well as local Native American history and culture. Doing the canyon on this tour gave me insight and views I would never have known were there. I really can’t recommend it enough. The family and I had a really wonderful experience we won’t forget. So, save your money and get off the strip. Touring the Canyon with these guys is one gamble in Vegas that is a sure thing.Written November 29, 2024

They made sure we were comfortable driving the scooters before we left for the ride. The scenery was beautiful & the scooters were fun to drive. We also picked up at other hotels. JT made the short drive even shorter by giving us tidbits of information about Las Vegas. He even gave us the mic to introduce ourselves. We took away some information about desert existence from the time before time. The area is prolific with petroglyphs and was an important area due to the existence of the availability of water in the Las Vegas area. OPPS, After traveling for over 50 years I will give you 7-5 that J.T. is the very best tour guide that you will ever have on ANY tour here in this area . After all we are in Vegas !! I do not know him. I have not been paid to say that, nor has any one touted me. This is NOT an opinion! It is a qualified RATING !! Have fun, learn and enjoy.

A must do ! To escape the madness of the Vegas Strip for half a day to enjoy the local scenery was a great experience and would definitely recommend.
Our driver was cheerful and chatty right from picking us up at the hotel, and had an obvious passion for the local area and nature.
Being in a mini-bus with a small group made it seem like a personal tour and we loved it.
Thank you guys for a morning we will remember.

We loved this tour !!!
We were a group of 4. Looking for a small tour of Red Rock Canyon.
This was perfect.
There was a total of 10 on the tour. JT the owner met us in a small, comfortable van with big windows. His knowledge of the area and of the trees, bushes, vegetation and creatures was amazing. He really cares about the conservation of the area.
As we were driving in the park he kept the door open so we had a great view of everything. One Time he stopped the van, pulled over got out and after checking came back to us , we all got out to see why he stopped. He saw a Tarantula walking on the road. Not only did he want to get it off the road be we were all able to see it.
He said that it was unusual to see in the day time but it was mating season.
We made about 5 stops with in the park to see different formations, trees, vegetation. Jt was very informative about how the Native Indians used the vegetation to survive.
The whole tour was about three hours which was the perfect amount of time.
We would definitely recommend this tour for any small groups

What an excellent experience!! Just returned from 4 nights in Vegas and had a great time. Have been many times to Lost Wages but never got to anywhere off the strip until this trip. We reserved an excursion through Trip Advisor called Red Rock Discovery Tours. Our guide Steve picked us up right on time at 819 am … yes so you do need to get up early… Steve was welcoming and funny right from the start. He was very knowledgable concerning all things Vegas as well of course about Red Rock Canyon. As we drove out to the Canyon …about half an hour…. Steve pointed out highlights as we wound our way through the busy Vegas traffic… he was successful in making everyone comfortable meeting the other passengers as we drove.
First stop Red Rock Canyon .. beautiful desert mountains and amazing history and geography
Second stop … Nevada State Park where we took a hike through the desert … about a mile all together .. some gravel and rocky areas … where the flora and fauna of the area were the highlights … on to a house previously owned by a German millionaire who ran a horse farm and is famous for the more than 4 carot Kruppt diamond ring …
Last stop … small town outside a gypsum mine featuring the local small town atmosphere
On the way back to the strip Vegas trivia was Steve’s entertaining focus … fun facts abound!
All and all it was an amazing experience and well worth the time and money … if you want to get off the beaten path in Vegas take this excursion …. You will not regret it … Thanks Steve for a wonderful experience.

This was my 5th trip to Las Vegas, so we wanted to do something a little different by getting off the strip. The Red Rock Canyon tour was INCREDIBLE!!! I knew Nevada was beautiful, but I had no idea to what extent. Our tour guide JT did a great job showing us all the highlights, providing interesting commentary and history, and making the tour fun. Do yourself a favor and book this tour- you may lose your money to the slots, but you'll never forget the incredible beauty Red Rock Canyon offers!

Friends told us that when visiting Las Vegas, getting away from the city is important if possible. We found Award Winning Red Rock Canyon Tour on Trip Advisor to set up an outing. Our driver was communicating with us before picking us up and was very skilled at facilitating the group of people in an engaging way. We not only had the experience of being in the desert surrounded by striking landscape views but learned much along the way. The tour was neither too short nor long. There was also a good balance between guided portions and times we could wander by ourselves. In all, this was a big highlight we talked about when we got home. Perhaps the best part of Vegas isn't in Vegas. When you get away, just a few miles but very different from the city, you have an appreciation for a place that you may not have imagined.

We booked as a party of 4 from uk, good pre pick up communication, guide picked us up on time, upon our drive Red Rock our guide asked us all on to introduce our selves, as well as knowledge of surroundings. Stopped at canyon sight for foto’s, drove through area, again guide knew his history and passion for the area, stopped off at beautiful ranch, took us on a short walk to a viewpoint, again his knowledge was very informative and fun, went through the ranch house being told the full history. Then passed through Blue diamond town( didn’t need to stop as drove though whole place) guide told us the whole history, drove back to vegas. Would definitely recommend booking this tour as a total escape from vegas for a few hours, worth every penny. trip taken 11/14/22.

Our Driver and Tour Guide, JT, Made what was a wonderful tour into an even more amazing one. The scenery is just beautiful, and such a short Drive out Of Las Vegas. The visit to the ranch with it's house once owned by Howard Hughes and others was well worth while, and the majestic hills with their beautiful red and other colours was a joy. Our driver and Guide, JT, immediately bonded us a a group by asking us to introduce ourselves and say a little about our lives. JT's knowledge of the history of the area and his grasp of the wild life and plant life, particularly of it's usage in the lives of the native peoples was extensive and he put it over so well. What really appealed was how his love of the area and what it means to him personally came through in his enthusiasm and wisdom. Do this tour - you will savour it and take home wonderful memories.

We took a girls trip to Vegas. All of us wanted a day out in the fresh air and to be able to spend the day seeing Red Rock Canyon. Because we are not from this area, we didn’t want to rent a car or go by cab out to the park. So this tour was perfect. We were picked up at a neighboring hotel. Just a short walk from where we were staying. Clay, our guide, was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. He drove us out to the canyon where we started our tour at the visitor center. There is a lot of time for pictures, toilets, snacks, and light hiking all while being given a detailed and informative narrative about the history of the parks indigenous people, plants animals,etc. I highly recommend this tour. It’s a beautiful area less than 30 min from the strip and it is definitely worth seeing. By going with this adventure tour, we were able to relax and enjoy all the beauty we came to the park to see while this awesome guide (Clay) drove us in comfort, offering a fun and exciting narrative that only a local guide, who loves this beautiful park, could.

Everything about this trip was great. The scenery was breathtaking and JT is one of the best guides I've come across. He's funny, knowledgeable and clearly loves the area--it comes across in the way he talks about it. Would do this again!

I know this information says it is not wheel chair accessible. We have a person that uses a roller walker and wants to go along on the trip. She can do some steps and if there is much walking, she would probably just sit on the van or sit in a location to wait for us to come back, will that work?

Are there a lot of bees and/or wasps in this area? Do we need to bring a packed lunch?

It's highly unlikely you'll see any bees or wasps. The tour is designed to be short enough to not require time for a meal. We ate shortly before our tour just to play it safe, but you could always bring a packaged snack along if desired.
