My wife and I really enjoyed this show.
Jason Tenner IS Prince! The set breaks featuring Morris Day and Apollonia 6 were fun as well.
I selected VIP and ended up with a table right at the stage so that was well worth it.
Disregard the comments about not recognizing the songs. The set I attended featured songs from a variety of albums but none were obscure. My wife and I were singing along to them all.
Disregard the haters commenting on the dancing girls being out of place. A-They were fantastic! B-Some of Prince's relationships were with back up singers and dancers so I don't really get some of the haters in the comments saying they didn't fit in with a Prince tribute.
Some of the comments about lineup process seem accurate. I arrived early so had no problems. But the process of letting people in and getting to their seats looked cumbersome so my advice...arrive early.
If you're a fan of Prince or simply want to relive some 80s gold, I highly recommend this show.

We're here for 5 full days, to enjoy a mix of gaming, dining and entertainment. Our first show: 'Purple Reign' at the Tropicana. We purchased tickets online, required to pick-up the physical tickets no later than 1 hour prior to the start of the show. (Note: common practice for ALL shows, created at least an hour of extra 'wait time' before being allowed into the theater). The site 'seemed' to indicate reserved seating, but vague for exactly which seats. We purchased the second tier, we knew we would NOT be in the front rows. We still were only about 40-45 feet from the stage, saw the whole show unobstructed. Btw: ushers seated patrons in the order as lined up prior to the doors opening, AND fill in the Center sections, leaving the 'wings of the theater empty, so the audience all had seating in the Center areas.
The Show itself was very, very good, High energy, good impersonation of Prince, a definite tribute with excellent vocals, showmanship, and accompanying cast members. The cast tried to engage the audience, but since the theater was only 60-65% of capacity, the true 'Prince Concert' feeling was lacking. All in all, still a very well performed Tribute Show, worth seeing. Impressive Cast and musicians.

Purple Reign: The Prince Tribute Show is a long running, very successful show. It is the best tribute show to honor our Dearly Beloved, The One and Only, Prince. Jason Tenner transforms himself to delight the audience performing some of Princes’ hit songs. Jason has been doing this for over 20 years. He is a master of performance.
Jason is backed up by a group of first class musicians in the band and a bevy of beautiful dancers. The gentlemen who portray Morris Day and Jerome get the crowd laughing, singing and dancing along with them. “Vanity” and the dancers captivate the audience and are always crowd pleasers. The song selection includes some of Prince’s greatest hits, as well as the occasional deep cut, and the audience can always be heard requesting their favorite Prince songs.
I live in Las Vegas and I have been enjoying this show for several years.
I highly recommend Purple Reign: The Prince Tribute Show to everyone, whether you are a long time fan, or just on vacation in Las Vegas looking for a great, entertaining evening out. If you want to enjoy great entertainment and world-class performers then Purple Reign: The Prince Tribute Show at the Tropicana Hotel is a must-see when you visit Las Vegas.

Very disappointed, paid a lot of money and saw hardly any Prince, the show was more filled with half naked girls bending over showing their bums and 2 guys messing around and felt like it was to waste time. People were walking out, spoke to a guy on the door and wanted to talk to a manager but just said it’s all Prince it’s in the movie. Didn’t really care and couldn’t give an answer to me when I said about other customers are walking out. We paid for a tribute to Prince not for other acts to be singing non related Prince songs and spending more time on the stage than Prince himself. Massive let down, please don’t waste your time or money on this show.

My wife and I have already seen a lot of the Cirque Du Soleil Shows in Vegas, so we checked out the Purple Reign Prince Tribute Show.
We both agreed it was one of the Best Tribute Shows we've ever seen, if not the Best!
Jason Tenner looks and sings exactly like Prince.
(My wife said he is actually better looking, and the Showgirls were beautiful too:)
The Show also includes a Tribute to Morris Day that was very funny.
Definitely Check it out!

Oh where to start. I'll say this caveat, I work at a theatre and have been in productions before, so I'm familiar with the preparation that comes before the show even starts. We got in line for the show around 9:10/9:15 after we got our tickets from the box office.
The show was suppose to start at 9:30...at 9:35 we were still in line. At 9:45 we were still in line but it was slightly moving. When we asked the usher at the front who was checking us in was the delay was, he said it was for technical difficulty and sound check. The technical difficulty, ok, it happens. The sound check, unacceptable. Sound checks are suppose to be done at least an hour plus to find any tech issues, then fix it. The show went on at 9:52pm. If there's a 22 min delay before the start of the show, someone from the staff should have told the guests. That's all they needed to do. The theatre was actually really nice. Clean, comfy seats, they should show movies in there.
So the show starting that late without any announcement about why it started that late. The musicians were dope. They were fantastic and super talented. "Prince" was great and even talked like him. The dancers were ok. It was more of the way they looked than the way they moved. Otherwise the show was ok. I thought it would have gone through Prince's history, but it didn't. It was kind of a review of his music, but also going back to the 80's with Jerome? There was also an awesome female singer, and didn't need to be in lingerie while she was singing.
Again, it was ok, but it wasn't worth the long wait and frustration.

Music was good, though there were too many non-Prince tunes, and the dancers were a fun touch. I know some of the other reviews said the dancers were over the top, but you're in LAS VEGAS - this is nothing. Anyway, the lead singer needs to check his attitude. Apparently, he thought some in the audience weren't taking his performance seriously enough. So he repeatedly brings down the whole place by referencing his distaste for them. Look dude, you're performing in a tribute band in a theater that's maybe 15% full in one of the worst hotels on the strip. Just relax and let your PAYING audience have a good time.

The best part of the show was the guitar player "Dre" ( Not the guy who played Prince). Omg this guy played most of the cords and rifs that prince played and more. He was so good I would put him right up there with SLASH from gun's and roses. ( I'm not exaggerating). He played about 4 different guitars and stole the show.
Unfortunately, this wonderful performance was overshadowed by the half naked women doing provocative dirty dances and extreme cursing by all.
It was a stark contrast with the wonderful performance in the MJ concert we went to earlier in the night.
I would have said 1 star HORRIBLE if it were not for Dre the lead guitarist.
Now I know why they do not allow pictures or video during this raunchy production not that I would want any.
But then that guitarist...wow

I loved this show when I first saw it in 2019, and thought it was the best concert I'd seen in Las Vegas. This time (2022) I took two friends to see it. I was disappointed this time, mostly because it was way too loud. Yes, rock should be loud, but it was so loud, that you could not distinguish one song from the other, and songs that usually have me rockin just gave me a headache. I'd still recommend it, but I do hope the band will work on their sound, and return to being a great show. All the musicians, dancers, singers and performers are very talented, and have earned well deserved accolades.

Was a great show to see a former icon. The Prince impersonator was very good. He clearly studied Prince well. I particularly liked his super cool attitude (like the original one) - not only the rehearsed parts but also when he interacted with the audience. Great job. Much appreciated this trip down memory lane.

I have a group of 10 booked for the GA section of seating. We are going to dinner prior to coming, and might not get there with a whole lot of extra time to spare. Are we going to be broken up and seated individually, or are we going to be sat altogether?

They seat people as they arrive and fill in seats from the front to the back. As long as you are all together you should be okay.

Anything really...we saw everything from formal to jeans! Prince tshirt would be cool...I will have to wear mine next time. Enjoy! it was an absolutely wonderful show which has prompted me to listen to Prince like I used to all over again!!!
