This was a great family activity. Getting a ticket was a challenge if you didn't want the VR experience. We tried to call or reserve online but finally learned we had to show up for a first come first serve but may not even get a ticket of all the spots were taken up by those reserving the VR experience online. Basically the regular admission gets less of a priority. Although they have openings every 30 minutes, once you were admitted you could take as much time as you wanted before exiting. We spent around 40 minutes touring the aquarium but it could easily be seen much quicker. There was a backlog of people at several tanks, including the glass tunnel that slowed the process down. They have a variety of animals besides the sharks and were fun to tour for our toddler.

The shark reef itself is nice. It's very complicated to find a place to park because they keep the small parking area near the reef, blocked off. Your only option is to park in the parking garage and pay $18.00 to go to the shark reef. It's a decent walk to the reef from the garage, so if you have kids, bring a stroller! This is not a place I would recommend if you have any problems with mobility. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Using the tickets I bought on here was very easy and we had zero issues using them. I would've given 5 stars, but the parking really is an issue and I don't agree with having to pay another $18 to park for an hour. Especially when there was an empty parking lot right next to it that they won't let you park in!

The exhibit is not a full on aquarium, but its a nice spot to see fish, rays and several sharks. I thought it was tastefully done, especially for kids and I would recommend it. You walk through and go under several tanks. The end has a large shipwreck exhibit with several sharks.

This is an extremely disappointing aquarium. If you're lucky it takes 30 minutes to walk through -- and it is definitely not worth over 25.00 a person. The sharks were ok - but compared to real aquariums w/appropriate prices this is a 2 out of 10.

Not a very big aquarium so quite expensive for what you get to see and how long it takes to walk through. We paid $100 for a family of four and were all done within 40 minutes including the polar exhibit. An extra treat was the very rude, shouty woman operating the obligatory green screen photo stand on entry. Hard to hear what she was ranting about - something to do with how she would get a bad appraisal if the photo wasn’t posed right. All far too aggressive and unpleasant. I’m still not sure what she thought her job was. Surely the idea is to welcome the guests, take a nice photo of them and hope that they buy an overpriced copy, not to drone incoherently at them, hold up the line of guests waiting to enter the attraction and sarcastically shout “do you want to take the photo” at one very annoyed visitor.

This is really not worth the $28 entry fee. The attraction is quite small and very cramped and the poor animals on display have too little space to move around. The sickly looking Komodo dragon could hardly move in his display box. As for the sharks: a few species were shown moving around their fish bowl. Best was the Jelly fish tank somewhat reminiscent of the exhibit in the superb Monterey Bay aquarium. I noticed that, like me, the people coming out of the attraction seemed disappointed

My son and I went here in early May because he loves aquariums. We had Go City Passes that included general admission for this attraction. Access to a day pass for Mandala Bay pools NO LONGER comes with this ticket purchase.

We enjoyed everything from the sharks to the Komodo dragon. It takes between 1-2 hours looking at and reading about the exhibits.

It does end into the gift shop and they did have some cute items on there with strip prices. A food court is nearby but I would highly recommend the border grill for lunch.

I would recommend the aquarium but once you’ve seen it you probably won’t have to go back.

Smaller than some other aquariums, this is nonetheless a must-do if you're a fan of marine life. What's here is wonderful and presented in an elaborate, heavily-themed way that's appropriate for Las Vegas. It's difficult not being impressed by the animals, the decorative details, and even the staff on hand to offer information and other interesting conversation.

Admission isn't cheap and these days it's limited due to coronavirus precautions (so plan ahead), but on the plus side Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino is offering free parking (a deviation from their usual business practices) so the financial hit isn't as bad as it could be. Definitely worth an hour or two if in the area and wanting something a little different from the Vegas norm.

This was a great and affordable experience for our family of 4 (2 adult, 1 child age 14 and 1 child age 12). The exhibits are unbelievable and they save the best for last..... spoiler alert, they have all kinds of sharks! Just kidding about the spoiler alert, they obviously have sharks... it's in the name. Seriously though, there is so much to see and they even have an area to 1 finger touch sting rays. Pretty cool! They take a bunch of photos before you enter that you can purchase for about $60, which is nice because you will then have pictures of the most popular attractions without any photo bombing (they even have one with the famous Las Vegas sign).

My family were very disappointed with The Shark Reef. The size of the attraction, presentation of species and variety of species was very limited for the entrance fee and the way this placec was hyped up. I have seen great aquariums all over the world and this was the most disappointing. I stopped and read every information card about the fish and spent good time at every display and was all done within about 30 minutes.
