Great Hoover Dam and Lake Mead excursion
We booked this trip after another company, adventure tours, never responded to my friend's inquiry. Gonzalo picked us up at MGM Grand Saturday morning on time and allowed us to grab quick breakfast to go. The drive to Hoover dam was quick and we stopped at Boulder City museum, where the workers of the dam were housed by the federal government. Hoover Dam was a tremendous feat and accomplishment back in 1931 and finished in 1935. After viewing the dam from the extension bridge above which connects Arizona and Nevada, we toured the outside of the dam. Due to the pandemic, we were not allowed inside to view the generators. When the short tour was over for the dam, we asked Gonzalo if we could take a boat tour on Lake Mead, which wasn't part of our excursion. Gonzalo called his office and after an extra upcharge, he drove us down to Lake Mead marina where we caught the 12 pm replica steamboat with paddle boards. This took us to the dam through the Mead basin which lasted for 90 minutes. All in all, turned out to be a great full day tour with perfect 75 degree non humidity weather.

KONOA, the best Vegas Guide !

Our guide KONOA was excellent !!!
Very impressive that he was early to gather us at the hotel.
Also his demeanor was very gentlemanly and sincere, right down to the part where he insisted on opening all 3 of our doors each time we exited and entered the vehicle. He made us feel incredibly special the entire day, with the attentiveness and genuine warmth.
The tour itself was much more than expected.
As we drove down the Vegas strip, local highways and parkway in Boulder City, our guide Konoa shared history and facts that made our heads spin.
The "Driving Tour", through Downtown Boulder City, the amazing overlook of the Lake Marina, Big Horn sheep in the park, Overlook bridge of 900 Ft elevation, to the Hoover Dam.... is an experience we will not soon forget.
Thank you KONOA & Sweetours, for the best day ever ~

Great tour!
We were in town for a business conference. Mr. G was there at the exact time he said and provided a safe drive that included some of the history of the Strip and the dam. Everything was amazing! Would highly recommend using Sweet Tours for the Hoover Dam Tour when you are in Vegas.

Miserable experience

One of the biggest waste of time and money in my entire life. Over 8 hours of our vacation for a 15 minute tour...which was a reduced tour because the "regular" tour was not being conducted due to maintenance on an elevator shaft. We were issued four tickets for the powerplant tour by our driver. We did not notice that one of the tickets was for a different time (10 min earlier), so when we went to check in the staff member conducting the powerplant tour informed me that "I missed [my] tour" (like I was supposed to go separately from my wife and kids??).

We had over an hour to kill before the powerplant tour started, so we fully explored the top of the dam The tour ended at 11:45, our bus did not come back to retrieve us until 1:40pm. The kids were bored outta their mind as we were stuck, with the ONLY thing to do is eat overpriced snack bar food.

Once back on the bus, and with the outside temp now a full 20 degrees warmer, we notice the AC on the bus not working. We got a "Yeah, sorry about that" from our driver. Stuck in traffic on the way back to Vegas the bus became uncomfortably warm. It was at that time I noticed that there was a "check engine" light brightly illuminated on the dashboard of the bus, and duct tape holding one of the emergency exit windows closed (see photos). We were so uncomfortable that we ended up getting off at the 1st stop (which was not ours) and ubering to our hotel...as did several other patrons.

Again, it took a full 8 hours of our day for a 15 min tour. NEVER AGAIN If you value your time you will avoid this tour like the plague.

Good tour! Driver narrated well communicating lots of history throughout the drive about Vegas as well as the dam and surrounding areas. Comfortable and clean bus! Touring the dam itself was a great experience! I would rate the experience higher but we received a call the day before informing us that they would not be picking us up at our hotel as per their advertised commitment. We had to walk almost a mile to to another hotel at 7:30 AM for pick up. Interesting how this call came in after the 24 hour cancellation window was no longer in play. Either way good trip!

We had a wonderful time. Our tour guide Konan ( I hope I spelled his name correctly) was excellent, super nice and knowledgeable. We had a very personal experience only 12 in our group. The buss ride was really interesting through Boulder City very historical and beautiful views.

Fabulous tour by Bill to the Hoover Dam! They provided great communication after booking on pick up with directions and photos. Also provided great communication the day prior and the day of regarding pick up. Very comfortable transportation and our tour guide Bill was very knowledgeable of the city and the history around the dam. They provided water and a light snack. There is a lot of walking at the Dam but they do have escalators and elevators. If you are interested in the Hoover Dam, take this tour. Highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed. Just go!

Trip to Hoover Dam

Took the tour from Vegas to the Hoover Dam and it was a very pleasant experience. Bill C was our guide and driver and he did a fantastic job. We had a breakfast snack and drinks to start the trip and Bill gave a very informative talk about the history of Las Vegas and the area. We stopped to walk on the bridge crossing the canyon and then visited the Dam. You could pay to take a tour of the interior and you should. On the trip back we stopped at a scenic overlook to take pictures of Lake Mead. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience.

We went on a beautiful day! There was a deep blue sky, fluffy white clouds, and a breeze when we go to the dam. The tour stopped at a scenic outlook of Lake Mead where we got of the bus and took pics. Then back on and on to the dam. The inside tour of dam was still closed. However, one of the souvenir shops and a café were opened. You can walk across the bridge and see the dam from that angle. Inside the dam property, you can walk the area with has some inclines to get to parking lots. There is a sign stating Arizona Stateline on one section and a Nevada marker on the other. You can literally walk from Nevada to Arizona and back within minutes. This is a nice trip for couples, group of friends, and families with small children.

An amazing trip for a really great price! We were picked up right from our hotel and brought to the Hoover Dam and back for $50/person. We were picked up around noon, we stopped for a little bit at Boulder City, then we stopped at a park that overlooked Lake Meade and we saw the state’s animal, the big horn sheep. Then we stopped at a viewing area of the dam and there was a nearby gift shop. Then our tour bus driver, Angela, got our tickets for the Power Plant tour. We got our picture taken, watched a movie about the history of the dam, and went on the tour. After the tour we bought a picture package and some souvenirs (not bad prices actually I think we spent $50 on 3 printed photos and a digital photo all with different backgrounds, a deck of cards, and a copper plated coin). We then went through the museum, went to the roof overlook of the dam, and checked out the gift shop. Then it was time to head back to the bus. We were then dropped back off at our hotel a little before 6 pm. I got sooooooo many amazing pictures and we had such a great experience. Angela was an amazing guide!
