There, meet the pilot and board a luxurious Eco-Star helicopter with air conditioning, wraparound glass for maximum visibility, theater-style leather seating, and surround-sound stereo headsets. As you fly above Las Vegas, Lake Mead, and the Hoover Dam, your pilot points out both manmade and natural landmarks. At the Grand Canyon’s West Rim, dip low into the river valley, touching down on a private bluff 3,500 feet (1,067 meters) below the rim with the mighty Colorado River just below. After a Champagne toast, snacks, and more postcard-worthy views, board the helicopter for the flight back to Las Vegas, passing over the Strip on your way to the heliport. A private car returns you to your hotel.

- Due to comfort and weight / balance of the aircraft, passengers weighing over 300 lbs (136 kg or 21 stone) will be required to purchase an additional seat. This is payable directly to the tour operator on the day of the tour.

- jonathansP9558JQ0 contributionsNot worth itIf you are considering booking a flight with Maverick in Las Vegas, I highly recommend saving yourself this money and doing another activity with it (limousin, rooftop bar, viewpoint). The helicopter has 6 seats (you will not be alone), and 3-4 passengers will be sitting at the back. Expect the people sitting in the middle seats at the back to not be able to see much (yet pay the same price as everybody else). The same goes with the passenger sitting on the back right side. Throughout the Strip tour, the helicopter only moves one direction and all the views will be on the left side. I have no complaints about the systems, but I do have a couple of concerns. Our pilot was very sweet, but didn’t really talk much during the flight. I feel that with this amount of money, the pilot should also act as a guide and make it a more interactive experience, making it more enjoyable rather than just sitting there and looking around. Additionally, it’s ridiculous for Maverick to charge three dollars for a small bottle of water after already charging $700 for the experience. You would think they would provide water for free. The same goes for the complimentary photograph; you have to buy everything. Again, it’s not that it’s a bad experience, but I feel these are small things they can improve to reach a five-star rating.Written March 9, 2025

Our trip with Maverick Helicopters was amazing! It was a well structured experience from the point of pick up from our hotel, the check in process was well organised and efficient.
The actual helicopter trip itself was perfect, even better than we expected. A 45 min flight to the Grand Canyon (we were lucky to be sat in the front and had great views) followed by a 30 min landing in the Canyon with refreshments and a 45 min flight back over the strip.
We shared the trip with two other couples, on the flight back we stopped to refuel so after each stop we were able to swap seats so everyone had the opportunity to sit in the front of the helicopter.
Our pilot Caleb was friendly, very knowledgeable (providing lots of info and pointing out key areas during the trip).
From the point of pick up to returning to our hotel was about 4 hours which was the perfect amount of time for the experience, not a long day like the coach trips we considered initially.
This was a great experience and worth every penny and we would certainly do it again when we next visit Vegas. We highly recommend Maverick Helicopters as the experience was excellent in every way possible even including their speed of response to emails when reconfirming our booking when we arrived at our hotel (which is part of the process once the initial booking is made).
A professional company who are focused on delivering an overall experience for their customers. We can’t fault our experience with Maverick in any way at all, we had the best time and it really made our vacation in Vegas.

I was worried about booking a helicopter trip, not really knowing my options or the companies but Maverick are it!! They are sooo professional, one of only two companies allowed by the Grand Canyon Hualapai Tribe to land their helicopters IN the canyon (of which a fairly high fee is paid to the tribe for each passenger I’m told)
We chose the 7am flight. Our pilot Caleb said he thought the dawn and dusk trips were the best. The temperature was cooler at that time as the sun wasn’t down in the Canyon at that time of the morning. The rest of the day it hit 40deg Celsius. The collection from hotel was spot on, the timings of the flights were totally in check, the pilots are totally amazing and the flights themselves were the best experience of our Las Vegas holiday.
Maverick have a smart area of the airport down near the Welcome to Las Vegas sign (look them up on the map) They may be expensive but if you can afford it, do it. We don’t regret a single minute - thank you so much Maverick

We checked the reviews before booking with Maverick and were not disappointed. Pick up from the hotel was on time and easy. There was a small wait before the flight once we got there but in comfortable surroundings with friendly staff. Once stood by the helicopter we had a short safety briefing from out pilot (Tanner) and a photo in front of the helicopter (reasonable price to purchase post flight at $30 for a photo and the digital photo too). The fight was amazing and the landing in the Grand Canyon for 30minutes (including refreshments) was a great opportunity for stretching legs and some amazing photos. Be ready for taking photos of the Hoover Dam on the flight out as the flight back takes a different route. The flight back stopped to refuel which gave a 5 minute chance to get off and get a photo with a Joshua tree. We can’t recommend this trip enough although I wonder what it would be like in high summer heat, especially the stop in the canyon itself. Tanner was a great pilot and obviously experienced and knowledgeable. All in all you must do this if your first / only trip to Vegas.

Maverick helicopter contacted me 2 days before my mid-day flight to tell me that my flight was cancelled due to a heat advisory. They offered to reschedule me for an evening flight for the following day. I asked the customer service agent if it would also be cancelled because it was forecasted to be even hotter that day. He assured me that the sunset flights would go even if it's hot because the sun is lower in the sky. The company then proceeded to send me a confirmation text on the day of my flight. They didn't arrive at the designated meeting point at the time specified and I called to be told my flight was cancelled yet again. Visiting the grand canyon was one of the major reasons I decided to come to Vegas. Since they gave me the run around and no call/no showed me, I have run out of time to make other plans to get to the canyon on this trip. Please don't book with this company in the summer. It's not like it's never been hot in Vegas in July before. They should know what to expect with Vegas weather and should not have given me the run around. Also, they made me contact trip advisor myself for a refund which is still pending at this time. One last thing, because I was planning on spending almost $3000 on this flight I chose not to spend an extra $1000 to see a show. They have really made my Vegas experience unpleasant. 0 out of 5 stars. Do not recommend.

It is a fine line between temperatures that we can and cannot fly, and weather forecasts are not always accurate. We do our best to make sure that all of our flights are able to fly. Unfortunately the weather is a big factor in allowing us to do so.

Everything from start to finish was top notch including pick ups etc. In terms of the experience, we thought it was well worth the money (expensive for us with exchange rate). The actual time in the air was more than we expected and the time out of the chopper in the Canyon was just enough time to take in the scenery, have a glass of champagne and take lots of photos. Our chopper was full (6 people) but we all rotated around the seats so that everyone got a chance to sit in the front and have a window seat. The audio commentary through that headphones was pretty good as well. Coming back to Vegas was an another good chance to see everything on the Strip from the air. We tipped our pilot $40. It’s not mandatory but he got us back in one piece and only worked out at $10pp.

The reason for my rating is this morning 30 minutes before a 9:30 AM pick up our tour was canceled because not enough people signed up. This is an established company that is very experienced and it is disappointing that at a minimum they did not contact us the night before about this so we could have at least planned something else for today. Because they do this all the time they don’t think about how big a deal this is for their guests. It took me a week to talk my wife into this as it is something I had been wanting to do for years, and they just blew it off like it was no big deal. I can understand if there were safety concerns due to bad weather; but in this case it just wasn’t as profitable for them because not enough people signed up (they only take 6) so they canceled our trip. Unfortunately because of this I would never book with them or recommend them to anyone else in the future. The irony is if it had been a more personable tour due to a few less people thousands of people would have read about it if it had lived up to the expectations since I am in the top 1% of all Trip Advisor reviewers; instead all of these potential guests will now realize all because you book the tour even with perfect weather conditions you can’t trust whether your tour might be canceled. For what it’s worth I think this is a poor marketing strategy and a PR nightmare.

I searched all the reviews and prices before booking my families helicopter fight as the Australian dollar is worth only 59 cents when exchanged for the US dollar and then there are extra taxes for everything in America. We are not rich so I really wanted the best experience for the best value……The Maverick helicopter flight includes a flight to the Canyon, flight back and a 30 minute stop in the canyon for nibbles, champagne and great photo opportunities. It cost $1000 au per person all inclusive……. But WOW it was worth every cent! The flight was amazing getting to the canyon and on the way back we landed again to refuel. Interesting to see the refueling and another opportunity to get out and take a few more photos. Our pilot was ( Caleb ) he reminded us of Maverick from top gun/Maverick with his stature personality and overall appearance. He was very informative, clear precise and also threw in his own style of humour from time to time ( just coincidence the company is called Maverick )! We had appropriate music, so good 👌 within the flights through the headsets. Myself, wife and 10 year old daughter will never forget the experience and highly recommend saving and splurging for this once in a lifetime experience! Thanks to the Maverick company for the ease and professionalism and a huge thanks to our pilot Caleb for his professionalism, Maverick style and swagger ( it’s not a put on show it’s just him )! I suggest everyone join the Tour better don’t be late, because any things delay will affect the next tour, that’s why they very straight of the time frame.
In case you have any questions before you arrive, you can send the message to this number 702.710.5276 for checking your flight information, pretty efficient even before they open.
They do have Maverick souvenir store let the guest can shop while waiting.
Also they do have a photographer for take pictures & charge $29 , $44 with different packages.
Our pilot showed up exactly on time he gave us our instructions and we got into the helicopter and took off over Las Vegas got to see everything.
Then we headed out to the desert past Lake Mead and Lake Las Vegas and landed near the Grand Canyon.
What a magnificent majestic Beautiful scene it was we had soft drinks + bottles of water & champagne and some snacks like peanuts & 🥨 pretzels with selfie photo opportunities over the Grand Canyon in 30 mins.
We are over a mile down. I could look up a mile to see the top of the Grand Canyon.
Also can see the view same as Skywalk as well.(so no need to add additional Skywalk)
It was pretty cool they have a gasoline station in the middle of no place Where the pilot stop and refuel the planes which is another opportunity for us to get out and look around and see some things in the desert then we fly back over Fremont Street experience over downtown over MGM, grand Park, MGM, and all the other beautiful MGM properties how magnificent they are we landed and they were right there offering to give us a ride what a great time we had.

They do have Maverick souvenir store let the guest can shop while waiting.
Also they do have a photographer for take pictures & charge $29 , $44 with different packages.
Our pilot showed up exactly on time he gave us our instructions and we got into the helicopter and took off over Las Vegas got to see everything.
Then we headed out to the desert past Lake Mead and Lake Las Vegas and landed near the Grand Canyon.
What a magnificent majestic Beautiful scene it was we had soft drinks + bottles of water & champagne and some snacks like peanuts & 🥨 pretzels with selfie photo opportunities over the Grand Canyon in 30 mins.
We are over a mile down. I could look up a mile to see the top of the Grand Canyon.
Also can see the view same as Skywalk as well.(so no need to add additional Skywalk)

Highly recommend! Whole tour is organized very well. Pilot was very nice and professional. Flight was amazing- views and landing down in a canyon is worth every penny . Thank you Maverick crew for great experience

This was without doubt one of the best experiences of my life!
We had originally booked a sunset trip with another company, but our flight was cancelled on the day due to bad weather. We only had one day left in Vegas and unfortunately the company couldn't fit us in on a flight the following day, no one's fault as you can't plan for the weather but we were beyond gutted!!
On the off chance, I tried Maverick and spoke to the super helpful Seryne via live chat who got us booked in the following day, not for the sunset flight unfortunately, but we were just really grateful to get a flight at all at such short notice.
Now, I was a little nervous on the day! I was worried that I may get a little travel sick!! But I have to say the experience was incredible from start to finish!
We were picked up from our hotel, and after getting checked in at the terminal, we met our pilot (Wayne or Dwayne - I didn't quite catch his name!) who was so friendly and immediately calmed my nerves!
We shared the helicopter with two other couples, and we all got a chance to sit up front with the pilot!
Take off was just amazing and accompanied by the theme to Mission Impossible, which just seemed to increase the excitement!!
The weather wasn't the best, and we had a bit of rain and even snow along the way, but this really didn't detract from the experience.
Our pilot gave interesting commentary along the way, and we were free to ask questions if we had any. The views over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon are something else from the sky!
We landed on a ridge in the Canyon overlooking the Colorado River, where the views and photo opportunities are just incredible! After a glass of bubbles and some snacks, we were on our way back to Vegas, finishing the trip with a flight over the strip!
The cost of this trip is not cheap but it is totally worth every penny in my opinion. You are in the helicopter for around 90 minutes in total, and the whole experience is just amazing!

Sorry for the delay. Yes we did have to wear masks while flying but at the landings could take off. Its wasnt that bad but it might be lifted by now. Still a fantastic adventure!!

Best bet is to just call them. Will say it was the best tour I have ever had!!! We did the Lake, Grand Canyon ( landed for Champagne and Pics!) and second landing for fuel, Red Rock Canyon and back to Vegas. Totally worth it .
