Pass By: The Las Vegas Strip, S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109, USA

After a pickup from a Las Vegas hotel, set out to one of the hottest places in the world — Death Valley. Sometimes referred to as 'Mars on Earth,' the amazing diversity of this park is often unappreciated.

Stop At: Badwater Rd. 19 mi south of Furnace Creek, Death Valley National Park, CA 92328

Spend approximately four hours in the park. Stop at the Badwater Salt Flats, which marks the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere at approximately 280 feet below sea level. The Badwater Salt Flats also boasts the hottest recorded temperatures on earth, taken in 1913.

    Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Furnace Creek Visitor Center, California Highway 190, Death Valley National Park, CA 92328

Next, tour the Borax Museum at Furnace Creek Ranch, the oldest structure in Death Valley.

    Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Artists Palette, 11 mi south of Furnace Creek off Badwater Road, Death Valley National Park, CA 92328

Also, make photo stops at the Artist's Palette.

    Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Zabriskie Point, Route 190, Death Valley National Park, CA 92328

See the beautiful color the desert has to offer such as the Zabriskie Point badlands. Views of Twenty Mule Team Canyon and the Funeral and Black Mountain Ranges will round out the tour.

    Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Highway 190, Death Valley National Park, CA

On the return trip to Las Vegas, journey through Death Valley Junction, home of the Amargosa Opera House and Hotel. Built between 1923-1925, the opera house did not blossom until Marta Becket — an actress, opera singer, painter, and builder — made it her home and canvas, which is evident throughout the building. Round-trip transportation, plus lunch, snacks, and bottled water are provided.

    Duration: 3 hours
