Excellent way to spend an afternoon
This Nature center and Museum are fantastic! Great for all ages, including teens. We saw only a fraction of the Preserve due to 100 degree temperature. But next time we are in the Las Vegas area we will return to see the Nevada Museum, butterfly exhibit, and walk the interpretive trails. The Spring Preserve gives a wonderful opportunity to learn about the entire Mojave Desert and how Las Vegas grew. Our family highly recommends the Spring Reserve.

    Land of the Lost
It's been awhile since I last visited the Springs Preserve and I was shocked at the condition of the place. Rust stains and deteriorating concrete, restrooms that hadn't been cleaned, and an empty and closed gift shop made us feel like the place has just given up (after we left, we learned that the gift shop has moved into some building somewhere else on the property). Many of the plants didn't make it through the brutal Las Vegas summer. Visitors walked aimlessly, lost and unsure what do look at or do thanks to almost non-existent signage. I'd love to be able to encourage others to visit but, this place needs some upkeep. The cafe on site is way too expensive for most families and the artificial turf spread across a giant open area shows a huge lack of knowledge and respect for the environment--not very cool for a place that was built to preserve nature.

It's best to visit on a pleasant outside day for your comfort because the area is modest and outside in a grow house-st
There is a small, independent admission charge for the new display. Well worth the additional few bucks is this. It was really warm today. Now, there are just two species on display. As soon as the temperature cools down, more will be added. Nevertheless, while my two hours there, around 700 butterflies amused the tiny number of guests! TWO HOURS? Well, I had fun while watching and taking pictures from the ground. I doubt I would have liked it nearly as much if I had gone there on the weekend or on a holiday. In a few weeks, when they add additional species, I'll return. A pleasant

    Great for families!
This place is amazing! We went twice in one week, once with just my toddler (my oldest son was sick) and once with both kids. They both loved everything, but especially the dinosaurs. The seasonal splash pad was a lifesaver for the June heat, and the hands-on exhibits inside the OriGEN museum were educational and fun. The botanical garden was beautiful. I wish we had had time for the Nevada State Museum, but it’s definitely on my list of things to do the next time I’m in Las Vegas! I highly recommend for families.

    Not Nearly Enough Shade
Keep in mind that we were visiting in mid-May and not Jul / Aug / Sept. This has great potential to be a wonderful place, but there is not nearly enough shaded areas beneath splash pads, play grounds, and other gathering places to make it any where near comfortable.

    Loved it!
I don’t know why this isn’t listed as a top activity in Las Vegas. It is very well run, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and all seem to really enjoy being there. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I learned so much while having a great time. Fabulous for kids as they learn through fun activities as well. If you are a local I definitely recommend the memberships as they are very reasonable. I recommend a hat and sunscreen.

    Nice butterfly exhibition
Very nice place to bring the whole family and the kids. It’s good to walk around and you can also take the train. The butterfly exhibit was opened in April - May, it was a great experience!!

    Not much to see here
This garden is not much of a garden. There are a lot of empty buildings and some indoor exhibits that need some updating. We were glad that we were admitted using our reciprocal pass from our hometown garden.

Wonderful gardens, education centres and space to roam
Amazing place to visit with kids or any age. Well marked walking trails with interesting exhibits. Short train ride to historic town with exhibits. Also visited water tower and state museum. Could easily spend more time here at cafe and other museum. Save yourself some money if you are a family and buy a membership. Free parking and easy Uber ride 20 mins from strip.

    Great visit
This is a great place to visit to get away from the Strip and relax for a while. Buying tickets online makes for a quicker entry, but it's never too crowded. If you have a car, there is a large free parking lot. We visited the botanical gardens as well as the Origen Museum, which was fantastic. Well worth a visit for all ages!

    Awesome learning experience!
This place is awesome and massive! There are so many different areas to check out and explore. My husband and I went, and we learned so much! Honestly, it wasn’t at all what I expected, but it was actually better. There are so many cool exhibits.

    Interesting
It seemed like a cool place, but I wish I'd gone on a day when it wasn't full of field trippers. The throngs of kids put a damper on enjoying the day. I would visit again if there was a way to know that it wouldn't be overrun with kids.

    Best part of Las Vegas!
Fantastic urban garden/ desert scape. We living visiting gardens when we travel and this was a great one. Well laid out desert plants and displays across the grounds. The vegetable / herb garden area is fantastic for gardening nerds like me. Very cool and the head gardener is awesome. Fun to talk to and hear about the different plants. Butterfly enclosure is remarkable. Enjoyed the Liberace exhibit inside the museum. Even the waterworks piece was very cool. Get away from the strip and visit this gem.

Explosive butterfly exhibit and stunning trails and flowers throughout
My main objective today was to take pictures of the butterflies on this stunning 80 degree day. The exhibit was extremely busy but WELL worth the wait time in a small line. I come here a few times each year and on today's visit there were more butterflies and species than I've ever seen. The staff were perfect. Keeping a watchful eye to make certain everyone obeyed rules and enjoyed themselves. It's hard to imagine such a clean, beautiful exhibit in the heart of the city. I took loads of pictures and on the way to the exit who can resist those stunning flowers throughout the property. Colorful. Amazing. Just adds up to a positive experience.

We had a great time at the Spring Preserves here in Las Vegas on a sunny Sunday afternoon ! We saw the Del Solar house , walked through several nature trails overlooking the Cactus trees and vast array of pretty garden life !
The butterfly section was cute too !
We enjoyed learning about the history of Boomtown of Las Vegas life in the 1800’s after taking a fun train ride and indoors walking through the Nevada State Museum .
As fairly new Nevada state Residents , we also appreciated the $9.95 a piece ticket price !

Oddly have been to Las Vegas for years so many times and only accidentally found out about this place the night before going this time. Sad, it needs better advertising or something. That being said it's wonderful away to spend a day learning about Nevada. Short drive from the entertainment areas and nice covered parking, not too crowded on a cool sunday in March. Could of great interactive museums that are very kid friendly and adult friendly lol. Great short historical movie offered of the preserve and the water that used to be here and made it possible for early peoples to live in the area though the springs are really gone now. The museum areas include reproduced replicas of mining town and an early idea of the town around a rail station. Replica's are fun if not entirely realistic. There is long paths one can walk to see the mostly fallen down ranch that used to be here and other areas. I think this may be the one lacking thing. Could more more historic houses and buildings here perhaps as they have done in some cities, and they really need to rebuild the structures that were here.... that would add alot to the place. There are places to eat here though i didn't check those out and a small botanic garden are. For me the museums were the best parts for sure, very wonderfully designed and so much to explore in them. Which in summer here maybe be for the best since most of that is indoors. There are also neat areas like the Waterworks you can walk through and the flash flood recreation.. so many wonderful interactive displays .. very enjoyable.

My family and I enjoyed how accessable everything is. Strollers rent for cheap and trails are paved. They even have cute leaf imprints all along the paths. Maps are handed out but also download to your phones.
Bathrooms everywhere I swear every time my toddler grandson said he needed to pee we looked and there we were right next to another bathroom. I loved it, his mom loved it.
The gift shops are reasonable prices. The train ride was fun. The employees were amazing and helpful. My service dog wasn't refused like many places.
The dog show they had was funny and cute.
And my grandson's favorite feature, the flashflood was AWESOME! He was jumping for joy when that water came flooding down and under us!
My only concern was not enough interaction for him, kids his age (3). He cannot read, the animals were hiding, and the inside area just didn't have a lot his age could learn.
However, the playground was wonderful, he LIVED all the statues of EVERYTHING from the pioneer people to the animals.
Being that this place did keep him entertained for about 2 hrs, I'd still call that a win.

The Spring Reserve is a great diversion from the gambling and party life of the Las Vegas scene. We opted to get advanced tickets in case there was a long line but it wasn't necessary as there was no crowds. This place is somewhat easy to find but Google maps may give some misleading directions. This place was very quiet and an easy walk to get to the different exhibits and museums. Very nice displays and also very informative about the Las Vegas area and even the early LV days.

We didn’t really skip the line since there was none. We still had to check in at the ticket office and sign to acknowledge we received our tickets. We received a map with a QR code on it to the Springs Preserve app. She suggested we ride the train first to Boomtown 1903. We were there mostly to get some fresh air and hike. After piddling around the “village”, we walked along the gravel hiking trail. It is a flat easy trail. It was mostly in late winter condition. We enjoyed the cacti, succulents, other plants in the Desert Sol/Botanical Garden. Also visited the Waterworks exhibit. It was interesting and I loved the wooden xylophones. We will visit again to see the Origen & Nevada State Museums.

It was a great family activity. We walked the dinosaur exhibit and the Nevada State museum. We also did a conservation with kids class and enjoyed making our own river. It was a great day and fun for the whole family.

If you have not experienced desert vegetation or landscaping then this can be an interesting experience however if you have then it is pretty basic. There are some fun things for kids to experience and the Nevada museum is interesting. Also it is a nice break if you are staying on the strip and if very close (15 minutes) away. However if you are two adults who have already experienced extensively the desert then there is little new to see here.

The Spring Preserve from start to end was incredible. At a cost of about 20$ each it was well worth the fee. We started our tour being directed to the the Origin Museum by the kind lady working the ticket wicket. We proceeded into the museum and were greated by 2 very enthusiastic and helpful Doceiet. The exhibits featured were featured upon the original aquafir that is the reason for Las Vegas becoming what it is today. Water. It follows through on the development of the increasing water demands for the city and how that has been facilitated. This of course is a very basic Coles notes missing out on so much. Visit. Really. Included in the entry fee is also a Nevada State Museum, though on day 3 or Vegas feet, I was done. We did take the opportunity to walk through the Botanical Gardens (the real reason we came). Very thankful for the opportunity. I have been touring through many of the same throughout the entire state of California and have yet to see the same Succulent or Cacti exhibited the same time. The giant Aguave and the Century Aguave are something to be seen when in bloom!

Absolutely recommend this place. It took us a couple of hours to make our way through, and we could have easily spent another couple of hours. For 20$ each that is very economical entertainment while visiting Vegas. I think the Uber ride was about 11usd each way and drop off/pick up is at the Main Entrance!

The geological introduction to Las Vegas (The Meadows) and how the springs were the attraction for the city's start was most informative. It was a helpful overview of how the mountains were formed, how the grand canyon developed, and the ultimate explanation for how the springs appeared in what is now Las Vegas. The Water Works section was amazing to know the details of the aquifer from which the springs flowed and from which water was drawn for many years until the water table was significantly depleted. The connection, then, to Boulder Dam and the reservoir and the water treatment and disposal process developed by the Las Vegas area was interesting and impressive. Out in the preserve itself there are desert trails, a train-tram option for exploring, and even an old replication of historic buildings representing life in Las Vegas in its earlier days. There is opportunity to learn about the plants and creatures of the desert and so much more. Definitely worth the price of admission. We will look forward to taking our grandchildren to Springs Preserve in the future as a total departure from the usual gambling focus on Vegas!

We were there on what happened to be a Hispanic youth day so we had to park in the overflow lot. The attendant was great telling us where to park so that we could walk (vs. taking the shuttle). The Botanical Gardens were blooming out the wazu. Not something you see everyday. The origin center was lovely. We ran out of time and did not get to see the museum. $20 for this size garden seemed a little high but we were thrilled to go there.
