The amount of information was outstanding. I didn’t think I would spend a few hours there, but if you read everything it will take some time. I strongly recommend reading all the info since it ties into other pieces of info. Being from KC it was interesting to see the strong ties and documented ties to KC. Best time to go is when they first open and no later than 11:30 because it was extremely full of people around noon.

One of the best things we did in vegas.

The mob museum is informative, we’ll rounded and goes deep enough into the history to really make you feel like you’ve learned some stuff about vegas.

It’s huge but every part of it is engaging and worthwhile and considering so many things in vegas cost a fortune and take 5 minutes - the entry fee was well worth it as we spent a good few hours immersed in the exhibits!

We bought tickets online the day before for an early Saturday admission - and loved it. We thought it was really well done and liked how there was order to the museum (start at the 3rd floor and work your way down). We only spent about 2 hrs there (9a-11a) but to see it all, recommend at least 3-4 hrs.

When we left at 11am, there was a huge line to get in, so also recommend going early if possible.

Well worth it!

I really wanted to enjoy it but some factors took it down a few stars.

It was very crowded. It has low light in some portions with lots of pictures and reading small descriptions of the pictures that are low on the wall. Some rude people hovered around exhibits causing bottle necks. More interactive activities are more money of course.

It was nice seen original items like Al Capone’s revolver and the St Valentine’s massacre wall. I would have like to see more videos and interactive presentations. I also understand that the museum is in a former court house.

We had the go city pass that is turned into a armband that is good for the entire day with in and out privileges. They do have security and bags are checked. I don’t think any outside food or drink is allowed. Expect 2-3 hours total to get through all 3 floors of the museum.

I still recommend it but I would come just after open or before close for less crowds and to move through it more freely.

The Mob Museum is housed in the 3-storey old post office building in the downtown area of vegas.
It purports to be a comprehensive history of mob activity in the U.S. culminating in the mob control of vegas in the 60s and 70s (and the alleged removal of mob influence subsequently).
Whilst the displays use modern technologies and a lot of work has gone into the settings for the displays, we found the actual information fairly superficial and piecemeal. I had pretty high expectations, especially given the marketing that talks about how comprehensive it is, and especially given the $30 per person entry. Those expectations weren’t met.
We went at a time outside of school holidays, and in early spring, and even then, the rooms in the museum were crowded – one often had to wait to read the next display, and there was no pretence of social distancing. I’d hate to think how busy it gets in busy periods.
All in all, worth seeing if its really of interest, but not if its only really a passing interest.
It is set in a nice old building, and you do get to sit in the actual courtroom where mobsters were tried.

Good overview of the mob and how it started and spread across the country. We did the basic tour which is $30 unless you are with a local who shows their license, then there's a nice discount! We spent 2 hours in the museum and could have spent another hour if we had really looked at the full exhibit.

It's a good way to spend time here without being in a casino or outside when the weather is more extreme.

We bought the basic admission ticket, ended up spending over 3 hrs going through the exhibits. Very interesting and informative. Learned alot about their influence beyond the typical cities that you'd associate with the word "mob".

I loved this museum. It has a ton of things to see and explore. We spent at least 2 hours in the museum reading and listening to the different exhibitions. It was well worth the admission fee.

As a note I would not recommend this museum to groups with young children as there are exhibits with images of murder.

There are different levels of ticket available. I chose the base level - and in three hours I only got two floors of the three-plus floors completed. A caveat, I read everything, but if you are like me there is no need for any added expense on the ticket because you will have plenty to be interested in. Well done displays and exhibits with a nice variety of visual, written word, video/film and spoken word. We went on a Saturday and it was very busy, which makes it a bit difficult to read some things, you have to get the right angle through the glass and can't be too far away. I would recommend avoiding Saturday and maybe holiday periods - or if you do get there when they open. Parking next door is $8, but a municipal lot is about a block and a half away, so that might be cheaper (but then again, depending on the time you spend maybe not.) Cannot walk to the museum from most hotels, so parking or taxi/rideshare are your options.

I thought this was a great museum. It is a solid 3+ hour self guided tour. There are several video throughout the museum to watch. It doesn't replace the abundance of reading but it does supplement. I got a little reading tired towards the end so I skipped some of the content. They have a recorded listening option for an additional $8. I would not suggest this since there are not a lot of places to use it throughout. If you do decide to get this device, make sure you bring your plug-in headphones otherwise you'll be holding it to your ear like a phone which is irritating to your fellow museum goers.
