Absolutely fabulous a once in a life time trip
Absolutely fabulous! A once in a lifetime experience. Our air balloon pilot was Geff and he was amazing. The whole team who got us to are destination and setting the air balloon up were ALL just brilliant. It was all so safe and lots of fun. Would 100% do it again and 100% recommend. It was so peaceful and the sunrise views were stunning. The champagne at the end was also good. Just brilliant.

    Awesome experience
What an awesome experience this was! The staff was engaging, funny, knowledgeable and helpful. It made the hour ride to the location easy, the flight less intimidating and fun. There is an easy pick-up from hotel and then on the drive to Pahrump, we stopped at clean and convenient Gas Station for snack / bathroom break before taking flight. The basket looks small from a distance but is actually large and fits everyone comfortably. The pilot initially placed me in a basket with 3 other men but thankfully wisely said I could go in the basket with a couple (otherwise this would have been another type of review). The views from 4000-5000 feet above sea level at sunrise is stunning and hard to capture in pictures but we all surely tried. The ride was about 45mins and landing was smooth. After landing we enjoyed some conversation and champagne while they packed up the balloon and then drove us back to our hotels on the Strip. Would highly recommend. Booking online was easy. Getting an actual person to answer phone wasn’t as easy. Tip: call in the early afternoon.

    Amazing experience.
We did ride Oct 21st. My husband was scared of heigh so my 11 years old son and I did it. We had to wake up early to get to the office by 4:30 am since it was sunrise riding but the office was only 6 mins from Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. Our pilot was Jean. He was amazing and other crews were very nice. My son was little nervous but he did great. It’s a life time experience. We were able to see from unfolding hot air ballon, inflating, riding, deflating & landing celebration with champagne. It’s an amazing experience. We were up to 4000 feet but it was so calm and beautiful. According to Jean we don’t feel much of moving because we are moving with wind’s speed. Our landing was nice. According to Jean it is a world tradition to drink champagne when you land a hot air ballon. He explained the history behind of the tradition. My son loved it and he said it was most amazing experience. Highly recommended.

Worth the early morning wake up
Everyone has to try this at least once. It was fascinating watching them prepare this ride. We really enjoyed our pilot as well. He had a great sense of humor and very engaged with everyone. I wish I remembered his name, but all I can tell you is he was from France. Make sure you get him!

What a wonderful time we had on our flight with Jeff. This was always something I wanted to experience and I am so glad we had such great weather to be able to go up. The Jeff, Jim and the entire crew were fantastic and I highly recommend this company if you are thinking of a balloon ride.

    A great experience
5 friends embarked on this experience. It was an adventure getting there and setting up the balloons. Our driver and all the people connected with this were very nice and experienced and we felt safe at all times. Jeff was a great pilot and very informative! The views and the sunrise were well worth it! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because after we landed, it was about 45 min standing in the cold watching them pack up the balloon while waiting on our champagne toast. We were invited to help but it was SO dusty and dirty (it is the desert) and we had other places to go afterward. The one that did help was covered in dirt by the time he was done. My suggestion would be to have someone do the toast with the clients while the others were packing up the balloon. This would also cut down on the time for the whole experience which would have been good. You never have enough time to do all you want to do in Vegas! All that being said, I am not sorry we did this!

Great equipment, great pilot. We had a lot of fun. Wish the wind would have cooperated so we would have traveled further. Maybe next time. Half the fun is meeting people from around the world who share this adventure.

    First class all the way
Early start is a must. First up is a short restroom break, snack and paperwork at the office. Wind advisories had been for the last few days. The Company went the extra mile by taking us a little further out of town to find proper calmer wind. You are at the mercy of the wind. We were at all times, kept abreast of what to expect. Crew, chase crew and the pilot Jeff were fantastic. If your lucky enough, try and help with set up and take down, it’s a really hands on experience. Exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend

A complete and utter joke, talk about not doing what it says on the tin!!!
We were promised a ballon ride over the fabulous Las Vegas strip. We were told we would be collected from the hotel and then taken a short car ride to the site where the balloon ride would take place. This was a complete lie. Was over an hour and a half away (Plus stopping at Wallmart to collect some Helium). Ended up over some little town with zero views (Except cannabis fields if thats your thing). When we asked about the strip we were told they DONT do this even though the lady we spoke to the night before said we were. They said "We have told her to stop saying this as we don't offer this service". Complete and utter joke, stop selling this at as a Vegas strip balloon ride. Avoid at all costs!!! Made us late for the other plans we had that day as the drive to the town was over an hour and a half away!!! Also said snacks would be provided which never were. Also some staff were clueless as to how to pack the balloon away which meant even more delays. If this was free I would have been left disappointed. When we said about the Vegas trip they said "Another company offers this but it's only a 20 minute balloon ride" Well 20 mins of that would have been what I wanted rather than an hour of boredom looking at nothing. Thanks for nothing!!!

We had planned this trip for the end of our vacation, August 25, 2020. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to winds (we were refunded as we could not reschedule). Jeff picked us up from our hotel. He was on time, professional, and friendly. We were driven to the site and it was cancelled as we stood there waiting for the balloon to be inflated. Upon arriving at the launch site, the balloon was still in a bag. We thought the balloon would be ready to go when we got there. As we watched and listened, it appeared that most of the crew was new and not sure what they were doing. As they were preparing the balloon it appeared that they did not know where all the parts were. At one point we heard it stated that the pin was missing. We got into the basket and the pilot began heating the air in the balloon. As the pilot was trying to get the balloon to completely inflate, and it didn’t, he commented that the crew needed to push the balloon up more. The pilot appeared to be frustrated with the lack of skill by the crew. We then stood around and watched as the balloon was deflated and packed away. Then we were driven back to Vegas by a young man named Jeremy. We had overheard Jeremy talking with the other crew members about how he had been out late the night before, drinking. At one point, he stated that he was going drink for drink with a girl friend who ended up vomiting. On the drive back to Vegas, Jeremy fell asleep at the wheel. The whole van of people were yelling to wake him up. When he was encouraged to pull over, he refused saying that he was fine and that this has never happened before. Jeremy apologized profusely. We then learned that Jeremy has only had his drivers license for three weeks. I believe that it is a poor decision by the company to have an 18 year old kid with limited driving experience to be transporting large groups of people over an hour for these tours.
I think this concept has great potential. With better training of the crew and better selection of drivers for customers, this could be an amazing experience for all those that chose this as part of their Vegas vacation.

VegasBalloonRides
Hi Gretchen, Thank you for your review. Vegas Balloon Rides prioritizes our guests' safety above all else and we handle situations that might occur as quickly as we can. Our goal is to ensure we are constantly improving. All of our crew members are trained in the proper inflation and deflation procedures for all of our balloons. We believe the pilot's frustration on this day was due to a miscommunication and it has been addressed. The crew member mentioned in the incident no longer works for us. This was an isolated incident, and we are working with all of our crew members to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.

Save your money and do something else with it. I feel like I was scammed. When I got my email receipt, it speaks of a various discounts which were not presented to me at booking. I called about this and was told there are now no discounts, they just hadn't had time to update the website . . . really ! ! ! Their website also speaks of meeting "approximately 1.5 hour before sunrise" and in another place says "meet approximately 1 hour before sunrise". Sunrise was 6:28 am so that would imply the meeting time would be no earlier than 4:58 am and possibly 5:28 am. When the notification of next day meeting time came out the evening before, I was stunned to see that we had to be there at 4 am (roll out of bed at 3 am) or be considered a no-show. I then tried calling to question that time and possibly cancel due to the misleading and incorrect information on the website but only got a voice mail. My call was not returned and when I tried again at 9:15 pm they were closed. We showed up the next morning to get our money back but were told we would have to wait until 10 am to talk to office staff and they would not confirm that we could or would get a refund then. Because of all that, we decided to go ahead and go. The view and scenery out in the desert at Pahrump Nevada was extremely anti-climatic and definitely not what I had expected. The most exhilarating thing that happened was watching the dogs below bark at us and I can do that for a lot less than $633.88 for two people through a lot of other venues.

Thank you for providing us some insight as to your expectations with your experience. In reviewing our confirmation email template, we are not locating any information pertaining to discounts post-booking. We do not currently offer any discounted flights. If you would like to send us a copy for further review, please feel free to do so. We do meet early in the morning in an effort to not only check-in the number of guests who will be flying with us, but to allow for the approximate 1-hr drive time to the launch location. We have to account for the multiple hotel transfers as well as self-drivers, shared rides, and any road construction along our driving route. While sunrise may have been around 6:28am, we must also factor in the time it takes to study the wind patterns, wind speeds and direction to ensure safe flight, unpack the balloon equipment from the trailer, inflate the balloon, board all passengers, and then launch. Our apologies that the scenery that day was not up to your expectations. The multiple mountain ranges, expansive views of the Mojave Desert and Death Valley, and the lands expanding out to California are desert terrain which are intended to add to the ambiance of a serene, peaceful, and tranquil flight experience.

I am NOT a morning person so getting picked up at 4 am for a sunrise balloon ride was definitely outside my comfort zone. LOL. However, it was FANTASTIC. Jeff, our pilot, gave a wonderful historical background on the history of ballooning as well as a good narrative on what we were seeing below. All the crew were superb. This was a trip chosen for that "check that box" list. It did not disappoint. I have to admit getting in and out of the basket was a bit of a challenge for both of us...we are both 65+ but it was totally worth it and the crew was very supportive!! This trip is worth the cost and all that it is advertised to be and more. In these crazy times everyone is concerned about virus transmission. Everyone brought and wore their mask...as they should. Social distancing is not possible in a balloon basket BUT, again, we were both over 65 and felt very comfortable and safe regarding our health. Well done everyone. Thank you!!!

The sights were amazing!! You are literally floating in the air over Death Valley ! Very surreal. You have to be up early to drive out to the launch site and get set up to watch the sunrise but totally worth it!! I thought my anxiety would be bad as I don't like going over bridges but this was very calming. The pilot, Jeff, puts you at ease as he was raised on hot air balloons and started learning how to fly one at the age of 8; very reassuring and I felt we were in good hands. Jeff is from France and we enjoyed the stories he told regarding the first balloon launch to the champagne toast. He is also very easy on the eyes, lol. The ground crew and driver were all great as well, seeming to love their job, and all were very knowledgeable about the area. This was my husband and I's sixth trip to Vegas but first time in a hot air balloon. I 10/10 recommend it! Definitely worth the early morning wakening!!

This morning I went hot air ballooning! So much fun. I flew with Vegas Balloon Rides ( not to be confused with their competition, LAS Vegas Balloon Rides, but they don’t take off at sunrise though, so you miss spectacular sights). Vegas Balloon Rides is worth every penny!

Got picked up at my hotel, Venetian, at 3:15am (!), they then took us to their office where we signed some papers and got a safety briefing. We then boarded vans to take the 1 hour drive to Pahrump, where the take off points were. Today there were two balloons. We had 12 people onboard, but capacity is 16 so still plenty of room.

We took off right at dawn. It’s so smooth you barely notice it. Hardly any wind because you’re flying WITH the wind. We rose to around 7,000ft. The sunrise over the Spring Mountains was spectacular.

The flight lasted just over an hour. Our French pilot, Jeff, put us down softly on the ground with only one small bounce. He was incredible! We then had a champagne or mimosa toast and he told us more about the history of ballooning while the chase crew packed up the balloon.

After the hour return trip, we arrived back at the hotel before 10:00am.

I highly highly recommend this. One lady was really scared at the beginning, but by the end even she was raving about it. Go do it!

This was an awesome experience. The operator Jeff was extremely knowledgeable, fun and exciting. The crew worked great together and it was a joy to watch them all work happily and actually look like they enjoyed their job. The scenery directly below us was not great as there were many run down houses but if you looked past that to the mountains it was a beautiful sunrise over them and a great view. I never felt unsafe and was put at ease by the staff. They did not skimp on the champagne! This made the trip back have a few more potty breaks than the trip there but the van driver was very courteous about it and never made me feel like i was an inconvenience. This was our first ever balloon ride and i highly recommend it. I am over the moon happy about the staff and the experience!

My wife and I had a fantastic time and experience with Las Vegas Hot Air Balloon Ride. I can't stress enough what a well run, organized and friendly business operation. From being picked up at the Hotel to the drop off, every employee we were in contact with was genuinely friendly, happy and up beat. The ride itself was flawless and smooth. Literally floating in the air like a feather. Our Pilot was as experienced as you can get in that he competes around the world in operating the hot air balloons. He was informative, friendly and just made us feel as secure as you can be.
If in Vegas and want to do something you will always remember I highly recommend this event!

This was a superb experience, floating in the air where it felt quiet and poetic. I felt safe even though it realistically might sound impossible. I would do it again and having bubbles after the ride was pretty fun too! If it helps, some of the people in the balloon expressed they were afraid of heights but felt good about it. The pilot was awesome and funny and that flame keeps you warm too.

The staff is very professional, and pilot Jeff made us feel at ease with his lifetime exposure to hot air balloons, and sense of humor.
We learned that every pilot in the company were some of the best in the world, and it was fascinating to hear them discuss on the radio.
We would recommend this to anyone looking for something special !

This is by far one of the best experiences to try when coming to Vegas.
From start to finish it is a magical journey.
Jeff and his crew are kind, fun, and very informative on the history of balloon rides.
It’s an amazing experience to watch them blow up the balloon and once inside the experience is so beautiful and magical words aren’t enough to describe the experience.
As you soar over the small town of Pahrump, a certain sense of peace washes over you. For just a little while all of the stress and worries of your daily life fall away and you are free.
And just when you think things couldn’t get any better, you experience the most beautiful sunrise peak over the mountain.
Take this journey and you will see and love so much more about it.

5 + Stars from me!
