Meet your driver just outside the cruise ship at 8.30 and head to the city center. The beauty of Palermo and its gastronomic delights are known worldwide but few known that this unique charm is due to the cultural fusion of Phoenicians, Greeks, Arabs and Spaniards.
Your driver will show you the Arabic-influenced urban structure and narrow streets and lanes of Palermo, before arriving at the Palatine Chapel.
Thanks to the skip the line tickets entrance, you'll enjoy the beauties of the Palatine Chapel, without waiting in long lines. The Palatine Chapel is a jewel of Arab-Norman art housed inside the beautiful Royal Palace, and it is also the most visited monument in Sicily.
After a short break for lunch, the driver will lead you discovering the not to be missed sights of Palermo: Politeama Square, the main square of Palermo, Ruggero VII Street, Theater Massimo, the largest theater in Europe, the Quattro Canti, meaning "four corners," which divides the city exactly into four parts. Finally shop around the historic market, Vucciria, a typical Italian flea market where you can also try some Sicilian dishes.
Return back at the ship at 4.30 pm.
Please note: driver is not a tour giude so he will give you general information and suggestions but not cultural and historical insights. Indeed driver cannot enter monuments.
