What an enjoyable tour. Our guide was insightful and knowledgeable. We went from the bowels of the castle to the highest point.

The castle is pretty cool and some of its history is interesting. We had a really hard time understanding our guide. It may be because she talked too fast. Overall, just an okay tour

The host was funny, pleasant, cheerful... Other than that the castle doesn't have anything else to offer. Fake furniture, just a tour for an old building that is not impressive or thrilling at all. There's more mystery in abandoned old houses..

Complete waste of time. It is so weird that you have to pass by all of the fences with barbed wire on them. It just does not feel safe.

We did the murder mystery dinner. Food was below good. During the show, someone had to continuously give the actors their lines over a loud speaker. Audience participation was stupid. Over $95 and wasn’t worth even $20. Wow, never again to something like that at the Pythian castle !!

My daughter and I toured this with our homeschool group. It was alot of fun and very neat to hear the stories. We plan on going back for a haunted tour.

We simply wanted a photo of the castle because of its interesting architecture. There was no way to do this. We tried driving around the area and its view was block from every angle.

Wish there was a lower rating. We were looking for information for a destination wedding, but we were met by a crazy woman running out of the castle yelling and threatening us! We left the property hastily and will gladly spend our wedding budget elsewhere. This is a horrible way to treat potential guests!

I was surprised on a Thursday at 11:00 a.m. there was 23 on the tour. Ages varied from 9 to 90. It was informative and made me wonder why this information is not more commonly known in Springfield. The guide was personable and willing to answer questions. Stairs and only two times do you have the opportunity to sit during the tour. I am a local and this was my first time visiting. I would recommend if your relatives come to visit or you are looking for something different to do in Springfield. All four of us felt it was a pleasant surprise compared to our expectations. Ages 60 -90 and we are family even thought TripAdvisor thinks family must include young or teen children. Photos not allowed during the tour accept two locations.

We were with a large reunion group attending BOTH the escape room and the ghost tour afterward. The host was unbelievably rude, very unorganized, and it was most definitely the worst escape room in existence. The ghost tour was so bad we left half way through the tour. PLEASE, I'm begging you, do yourself a favor and spend your 70-100 bucks somewhere else. I truly wish we had! If you do have to attend, bring your own snacks or water. There is NOTHING at this castle once you're locked in it. And that's no joke...

There were 10 in our group that did the nighttime ghost tour. Everyone enjoyed it. Some wished it would have been scarier. There were a few of us that didn't go because online it said there were lots of stairs, but those who went said there really weren't that many stairs.

Old photos, history, story of structure. Would like to have seen actual living quarters, bathroom facilities of early residents.

This escape room is too expensive for the experience. We have done numerous escape rooms and escape races; I would estimate around 40 of them (we also have a 100% success rate on escaping). This is on the higher price side for an escape room. At this price point, we would expect higher tech gadgets, an electronic clue system, air conditioning, and a more polished feel for the theme. In this particular room, the guide stays in the room the entire time. Our particular guide did not allow for group discussion/ brainstorming very well. The clues were poorly executed and at times illogical. They really need better testers before beginning a room. Save your money and do an escape room elsewhere.
