Great tour and would highly recommend!

Kim was a great tour guide. She was very friendly, polite, and very knowledgeable about the history of St. Paul. She kept our large group on schedule as we visited a number of local establishments.

Meh
Just ok. 5 stops with two restaurant samples . 2 are candy stores and one brewery . Our tour guide ,Kim, was great so this review is about the stops.
Tour started at 11. First stop is legacy Chocolates which is good but your tasting is a few chips of varying degrees of cocoa, bitter to semi sweet dark chocolate and one truffle. After that it's 12:30 until the next stop which is African grille. Food was on tables before we arrived and lukewarm at best. Restrooms needed attention, no toilet paper in either one. Not the tour company's fault but maybe they'll relay that they expect clean Restrooms with adequate supplies. We were a group of 16, too large given the pandemic but I'm sure they need business.
Next stop is candyland. Very small place with all of us inside plus customers. Way too cramped but if you didn't huddle you couldn't hear information. Sample is one turtle and
popcorn. Next stop is Sawatdee. Food was served quickly after we arrived, some type of chicken dish with rice and shrimp spring roll - very good. Last stop is stack the deck brewery. They bring three samples-all happy. We love craft breweries so we're disappointed in the selection. Not the tours fault but offering beers that most will like (ales) would be a better choice. Most in the group left beer in the glasses. The stops are not worth the money for us but if you mostly want to hear about the area , it's ok.

Thank you so much for your review. Your feedback is important to us; we know where to make adjustments as we strive to become better. We will most definitely pass along about the restrooms and see if we can offer a wider sampling. We'll be sure to pass along your compliments to Kim!

Wonderful choice of tasting. Informative and friendly guide. Over four miles of walking
Kim was an excellent guide. I enjoyed the diversity of the stops, the historical narrative, and the quality of the food. My friends thought it was too much walking and I think the size of the group was too large.

Thank you for your review! We're so happy you enjoyed the samplings and our guide, Kim! The tour covers 1.7 miles over the 3-hour duration, in between the 5 tasting stops. We'll take the group size into consideration for the future. Thanks again!

So Much Fun and Amazing Food!
Jul 2021 • Friends
It was so much fun! We actually live near the Twin Cities, but we hadn’t been to any of these locations. We learned history that we didn’t know and now have some new, favorite places we will be returning to again and again. Our guide, Kim, was great. We highly recommend going on this food tour.

Great tour!
Jul 2021
My sister and I, along with two cousins, took this food/history tour with tour guide Kim. It was such a great tour and Kim was delightful! Our dads grew up in St. Paul and in fact, owned an apartment building in downtown St. Paul in the 1960's, so hearing some St. Paul history was really special to us - and the food/chocolate was GREAT!
Highly recommend this tour!

Wow - I love this story! Thank you so much for the kind review and the bit of your family history! It's always a treat for us when guests have a personal connection to places on our tours; it's an opportunity for US to learn something too! Kim is an outstanding guide and I'm very happy she was able to take you through some history for that connection with your fathers. Thank you for being our guests!

Great Food and Quick History
Jun 2021 • Couples
This was our first visit to Minnesota, we mainly stayed in Minneapolis but decided to do the St. Paul Historic Downtown tour on our last day. Kim was our guide and she was very knowledgable and made the tour really interesting! Who knew Charles Schultz was from St. Paul? They had some great Peanuts Statues in Rice Park. The food we tried was also delicious, from our chocolate tasting, the Somalian and Thai food, then ending at brewery! We sampled three different beers. We stayed and had another pint before heading out to the airport.
The service was great at each establishment. We had a nice group of out of towners like us.
It was a nice afternoon and a great way to end our trip.
