I grew up in Traverse City and we all knew about ghosts reported in many places downtown. I had just never had them explained and had a "face" put to the spirits. Very fun. Very real.

Des was awesome! She is a hoot and a half and an excellent storyteller. She is obviously passionate about her work which makes the entire tour incredibly special. I love to learn about history and Des certainly knows her history. It was fascinating to hear about her research about Traverse City as well as the local stories which she has first hand experience with, as she grew up in TC. Plus, ghost hunting is fun! I really appreciated Des’s methods. For any nerds out there, she really does use the scientific method. If you enjoy history, great puns, and wonderful company, I 100% recommend this tour.

A great tour, full of Traverse City history. We have experienced several ghost tours in different cities and this tour stacks up. Des is a local and clearly loves this town and its stories. Highly recommend.

Any day is a good day for a trip to Traverse City. On the first Saturday of autumn I made the 200 mile trip to TC for the express purpose of going on this tour. My degree is in History and I have a YouTube channel devoted to local history so I'm always researching topics that I find interesting. I arrived early and found a parking spot (Free after 6pm). The tour began at the WTCM building and ended at the old Carnegie library. A distance of about 3/4 mile. There were detailed histories presented of about eight locations along with some discussions of a few others. Our host, Des was a delight. Enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable of the area as a lifelong resident, she made the stories personal and informative. Interaction from the participants was encouraged and everyone was made to feel welcome. Both the historical information and the ghost stories are real. I have been on other history walks where the stories are mostly ficticious. The haunted aspect of the walk is not ghoulish or disturbing. I would say that it would be age appropriate for children to older adults. Really, anyone who could make the walk and pay respectful attention to the presentation. I highly recommend this tour and will do it again in the future. It costs about $30 and lasts 90 minutes, but it was closer to 2 hours by the time people finished asking questions and chatting afterwards. As with any tour, don't forget to tip your guide if they do a good job. You wont be disappointed.

Had a great time with Dez on the Weird 101 tour. Learned lots of weird thinks about TC. From the weirdness of the bay, to the stores, to the people it was all very interesting. Also, Dez was very helpful in pointing out places to eat and see while staying in the TC area.

Fun and energetic tour guide with lots of quirky/weird stories to tell. Great tips about the area too. This tour is a must and take it early on in your trip to get those tips.

This year was our first time and we had a great time! We will definitely be back next year. We enjoyed the stories by grandma before the walk and the attractions were great! Scary and fun but family friendly too!

Over priced for what you get, which is a walk in the woods at night with narration. Pretty sure one of the tour attendees was a weird person planted to make it more interesting.

We went this past Saturday, 10/19/19. Our guide was wonderful, experienced and very knowledgeable. The spirits seemed to really like my daughter. She was using the dowsing rods and got spot on responses to her questions.

Had a wonderful date with my husband. The tour guide Clara was absolutely amazing! She's friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time and we're safe. She even toughed it out with us through a thunder and lightning storm! I will admit no ghost caught this time but hopefully next time, since we definitely will be going back!

What a great tour! I've been on ghost tours in lots of cities before but never in my hometown. Dez made it informational but not sensational. Lots of info and facts that can be corroborated. I was afraid of it being silly, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself and learned a lot.

I’ll admit I was a little nervous about what I might be getting myself into, considering there wasn’t a wealth of information available regarding this experience. However, it was 100% worth it. If you have any interest in paranormal/ghost experiences, you should give this a whirl. It’s an experience we will not soon forget and can’t wait to have again in the future.
