As part of the prize and logistics we had flights, hotel, car hire and of course white water rafting included. We filled in the waiver, booked the trip and received confirmation from Outdoor Norway. We planned our weekend around this exciting event. When we arrived at the meeting point we were told that there was no booking for that day and they could not take us as they had no instructors available. Even though we had received confirmation the folks at Outdoor Norway said that they had a reservation for next week. We had paperwork with the outdoor Norway headed paper that stated the date we arrived. Clearly a poor cover up for their incompetence. Completely ruined the prize event and weekend away. Ironically I received an email to review my experience the next day! So I ask myself, why would an email to review the experience be issued if the booking was for next week as they claimed!!!Written September 21, 2024

The waves were especially big in the beginning that I felt like I was on a rafting trip. Instead of wishing the weather were different, we got on with it and made it a memorable experience. Mahon was an excellent guide, he always looked after everyone's safety. It was physically challenging but the magnificent view more than made up for it. I would do this all over again. It was a beautiful river as well. The kayak paddling on the fjord was peaceful and the experience was just what we wanted. With Daniel as our head guide and Alex as the second mate, we had lots of fun and enjoyed being with the other family too! Overall, our time with Outdoor Norway was definite highlights of our trip to Western Norway. We were very well received, the guides took the time to provide information on equipment, safety and gestures and after a 15-minute journey we arrived at the river. The site was really nice. Our guide, Ben, gave us some final instructions and we set off on the river. We alternated between calm and intense moments with the rapids (downhill but also trying to go up them), jumps in the water. I appreciated the good humor of our guide and the fact that he seeks to include young children in this activity with a few games, while the older ones paddle with the adults!
It was a very nice discovery, which was made with kindness and laughter.

Super fun experience. The guide Victor explained everything very well and made it a super fun experience for our youngest daughter (8 years). The river was calm so that's why he started doing fun tricks and games in between. Highly recommended for the whole family.

This was a lot of fun and one of the highlights of our trip! Our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids) arrived via cruise to Bergen and took the train to Voss for this white water rafting experience. It had rained quite a bit the days before so the water level was quite high and we were only able to raft on the lower part of the river but that did not stop us from having a blast! We rafted through some Class 3 rapids, swam in the (very) cold water and learned some things about the river itself. Our tour guide, Luis and our driver, Genis were wonderful and a lot of fun. They had a great sense of humor and put our kids, who had not rafted before, at ease. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are up for a little adventure in beautiful setting.

This is not a well run rafting company. The whole operation is fairly amateur. My family of 4 did the family rafting in Voss in July of 2024. Not our first time rafting but we have younger kids, so a starter experience was expected. During the 4 hours and 30 minutes of total time spent with them, we were rafting a total of 40 minutes.
We scheduled a 3pm trip online but were called the day before and were told there was no 3pm trip, could we join 2pm trip? We were told to be there 15 minutes early.
We arrive at 1:45pm and were then told that the trip didn't start until 2:15pm. From 1:45pm to 2:15pm, we sat outside. Between 2:15pm and 3:35pm we simply got dressed in wet suits - an unnecessarily slow process. During this time, I watched the guides put all of the rafts on a trailer for 30 minutes. From 3:35 to 3:45 we drove to the starting point. From 3:45 to 4:30 we received a quick safety briefing and then just waited at the starting point for the tour to start, including a 30 minute period where the guides just disappeared without notice.
The rafting from 4:30ish to 5:30ish was great. Our guide was excellent (Andres) and the overall route was just right for a beginner group. There is a 15-20 break in the middle, right before the largest rapid, where you are offered the opportunity to swim. Bottom line, for a roughly 1 hour rafting trip, you only actually raft for 40 minutes.
There were 3 guides in our group for 7 boats containing a total of 21 people including lots of kids and first time rafters - this seems reckless. One of the 7 boats was a kayak with three adults who had clearly never been in a boat before. Unsurprisingly, they flipped their boat. This meant that the guides spent the whole trip helping them, slowing everyone else down. There was also a family group that included, what was obviously a three year old even though the minimum age is five years.
No real photos taken by the guides and you really can't take your phone with you - this was disappointing. No place to store you belongings other than a glorified shipping container. Not enough busses to pick everyone up once we were ready to return.
The 40 minutes of actual rafting was fine. The ridiculous amount of waiting was offensive. This whole thing, with just a little more organization, could have been done in 2 hours.
Credit to our guide, who was great.

First I will say, ultimately no one was severely injured, which was pure luck. I reached out to the company and they did not respond to my concerns.
This company clearly does not value safety, which is an Issue when doing extreme activities such as this.
I have been white water rafting before, but most of the people going had not. One of the families were told this was a family friendly activity with level 2 rapids, and that was not the case. The woman even expressed her concern that she had injured knees and couldn’t physically do things, she was told it would be fine. Which was not the case.
We did 3-4 level rapids, with people who were not in physical shape to row. The guides failed to do their job and ensure that both rafts were safe.
Our raft only had 7 personnel to start, one of our people was an elderly woman with knee problems, so before we even started we knew she couldn’t row. The other raft has 8 physically fit people, with 2 instructors.
After our first rapid, three people feel out, the guides in the other raft didn’t help at all. I requested assistance from the other guides because we clearly needed more help, and they ignored me. They should have given us an extra guide to help with our injured person.

A relatively large amount of time was spent on the safety instructions, changing clothes and the outward and retreat. In one word AMAZING! A bit of tension beforehand was smoothed over with a lot of humour. Super nice atmosphere. It was an adventurous PARTY. Our "skipper" Leiv was great. Our "360 on the rock" was the best of all rafts!

We had a great family canoe tour with lots of fun in great weather! Equipped with neat and clean equipment, it started. Our guides (Alexander and Andreas) have explained everything (safety instructions) excellently, making the tour safe and a fun experience!
The views, the landscape and also the river section we were on - just great! We can only recommend this! All of the team - whether at reception or our guides are super nice and helpful. Gladly again at any time!
