My usual bike place on Rockport pier was closed (what bike shop closes on a Wednesdays and Thursdays on a busy summer week?) but thank goodness because that led me to this gem. I’d ridden electric bikes (or e-bikes for short) on a trip to Tuscany last summer and wondered then why haven’t these marvelous inventions made it to the States? The owner, Cathy, wondered the same thing and started this business. The bikes are in amazing condition and the ride could not be more comfortable. And if you want a workout keep the bike on 0 assist but when a steep hill approaches, set to 1 and give thehandle a twist for a gentle assist. You’ll never go back to a conventional bike again. Highly recommended!

We rented bikes for the day, and zipped all around Gloucester and Rockport. The electric pedal assist made for an easy, breezy,enjoyable adventure. The people at CAEB are friendly and knowledgeable. They have a nice selection of different style bikes to choose from. The bike rental came with a helmet and lock. After a quick lesson on how to operate the bikes, we were off! We had an absolute blast zooming past traffic, taking in the sights along the coast and exploring the neighborhoods. We had plenty of time to stop for lunch and take a dip at the beach. If you wNt to add some fun to your day, I highly recommend you rent an electric bike here. I had so much fun on my rental, I ended up buying 2 bikes!
