We were so very fortunate to make a quick decision to book Portland Sightseeing Trolley Tours for our self-directed off-cruise ship excursion. We were doubly fortunate to have Wendy Lee as our Driver/Narrator for what we learned was the last tour of the season! From the moment my friend and I stepped onto Wendy Lee's trolley, we knew we were in for a unique experience. Her vivacity, humor and all-around joie de vivre were so refreshing we immediately felt we'd known her all our lives. Furthermore, her vast knowledge of the history of Portland felt like a rare and wonderful history lesson taught by a consummate teacher, performer and obvious fan of her home city. The tour was wonderfully capped off by Wendy's suggestion that we go to Gilbert's when we mentioned wanting Maine chowder. She told us to ask for the chowder "flight" which wasn't on the menu. Wow - so many kinds of chowder and all delicious! This was a special thing that only a long-time resident would know about, and we were so grateful that she shared it with us. Another fantastic Portland experience! I think this excursion was the highlight of our New England cruise. Portland Discovery Tours is indeed fortunate to have a treasure like Wendy Lee "onboard" to entertain, enlighten and engage travelers about your beautiful, historic city. (We especially loved the "Dessert of the State" quiz!) *Please convey to Wendy that we will definitely be returning to Portland to explore more of your wonderful city. This was one of the best trips I've been on. The people were so nice and welcoming. The lighthouse trolley tour and the cruise were fantastic and very informative. The best part was the restaurants. The food was amazing everywhere we went. So many wonderful places right downtown on the waterfront. Would recommend Gilbert's Chowder House and DiMillos on the Water. Both excellent and very different vibes. I would travel to Portland again without hesitation.

Good tour. Lots of information about Portland. You will see a lot of different things and food recommendations from the locals and the tour guide are very helpful!

Wendy was soo incredibly nice. She is very knowledgeable, funny, and just amazing. I learned alot, had fun, and was able to take plenty of photos. This was very enjoyable and totally worth it.

I had low expectations for this trip. we were on a cruise ship and chose to book this kind of by default. It was a great tour. Our guide was full of fun information, but not too much. We saw historical sites, cultural sites and really got a feel of the city. I recommend this for sure

It was fun. We had a rent car but we took this guided tour first. This approach showed us the primary places of interest. Afterwards, we drove our car back to the places of most interest to explore longer. This is also a good way to get familiar with the city before we drive around in our car. The driver/guide was excellent. He was humorous, knowledgeable, a safe driver and gave us a good time.

What a great excursion, the whole crew was so nice and pleasant and Mark the MC for the tour was so knowledgeable and funny. Learned so very much, which is always a wonderful thing.

I think our guide was Wendy. This was one of the best tours we did in our 2-week trip. She was interesting, funny, engaging, and shared much more info than we got online or in our walking tour. Lots of photo opps from the trolley. Departed and returned on time. She went above and beyond dropping off passengers at their requested destinations. Only feedback is that we would have liked more time at the lighthouse. Would recommend.

I absolutely loved the trolley tour! Our driver was engaging and funny, and she knew everything about anything. She’s great at her job! It was so fun learning some of the history of Portland and to see the beautiful lighthouse. I highly recommend for visitors.

Portland is amazing in the fall. The city is dressed with many tree colors. Many places to eat. Lobster, my favorite. I found that food can be a little expensive. You can drive to all the important sites, but the tour is best because it is very interesting to the narrative part.

Great way to see the city, learn about it from top quality tour guides and see the Portland head light without having to drive there ourselves! Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful day with the entertaining and beautiful Harbor Lights and Sights Tour. We learned a lot about not only the lighthouses, but the islands and land around Portland.

We enjoyed our tour round Portland. The tour guide was really interesting. Bus was comfortable. Only problem was that if you were sitting on the left side of the bus you didn’t get a great view of some of the tour. Therefore it was great that we could get off and have a look round the lighthouse.
