Be aware you will need to take a tender from the ship to the port. Allow extra time! Staff from excursion were waiting at the port. Easy to find! Coach was comfortable and the driver and guide were excellent. There were several guests that did not make the tour on time because of the tenders and the tour company made sure these guests caught up with us at the Royal Yacht. (They left on time to keep with the schedule). We had a full day excursion and enjoyed having the free time along the Royal Mile. Lots of shops, pubs, and of coarse Edinburgh Castle. Tour price is very reasonable compared to what the cruise line offers! Rest assured that the tour staff will get you back to the ship on time.

Hi Christine Thank you for reviewing your Edinburgh Shore Excursion! Great advice on the tender - both Queensferry & Newhaven are both tender ports and it's important to book an early boat to get to us in time and avoid disappointment. I'm glad to hear that you felt this was value for money and I hope you enjoy the rest of your cruise. Kind Regards Martin

From our cruise ship, we took a city excursion to Edinburgh and had most wonderful day. Even from when we arrived we were met with smiling faces and friendliness from our guide David and driver James. After a visit to Brittannia Yacht which was even better than we had though it would be, seeing where the queen lived and entertained, we stopped at Hollyrood Palace for a picture stop (even in the rain), and then went to the top of Arthur Seat volcano, seeing magnificent views of the city below. David was very amusing and gave us all many interesting facts and stories, so when we stopped at Edinburgh Castle for lunch, we knew we would be in for an equally great afternoon. Thanks to his suggestion we even tried haggis for lunch. Mmmm tasty !!! We were in total awe of the Royal Mile and all the quaint little close alleys. Edinburgh Castle was well worth the priceas so much to see. Our afternoon tour of the new town of Edinburgh was such a contrast to the views we had before lunch of Royal Mile etc but was no less inspiring. Couldn't leave without saying a big thank you again to our guide David for his excellent and friendly tour but also many thanks and well done to James our driver for his patient and excellent driving through such a busy but wonderful city.

Last month we took a day tour from Greenock Glasgow to Stirling Castle and Loch Lomond, and we were so impressed with arrangements and our guide called David, we booked another day excursion, but from Edinburgh a few days later. We weren't disappointed as we had same guide, although different drivers. Whenever we arrived in both places, David met us smiling and was very welcoming. He had plenty interesting stories with some added personal reminiscences making these tours highly enjoyable for us all. Both of these tours offered a great balance of places to visit together with time on our own. Loch Lomond and area has so much natural beauty and then Edinburgh with all her history were such contrasting tours but both truly memorable. I think our drivers were James and Gilbert who also did an excellent job, especially driving over the dukes path, but although the buses were comfortable it would have been better if they had been more easily identified as being Timberbush. All in all, highly recommended tours.

We took this tour from our cruise ship and it was great. Very reasonably priced and a great guide, David. He was friendly and very informative. We learned so much about the area. We started off at the Royal Yacht Britannia which was great. We bought our tickets before we went so we did not have to wait in any lines. We really loved the yacht and the story of the Royal family. There were a lot of personal pictures and we had access to many parts of the ship. It was really great. We met back and headed into Edinburgh. We got to do a photo stop at Holyrood Palace. It was raining but some got off the bus to take pictures. We toured all around the city and we could not believe how busy it was. David proceeded to tell us how this time of year in August is crazy busy. He took us to the top of a dormant volcano which was great and gave us great views of the city. We had time in Edinburgh and went to Edinburgh Castle which was also crazy busy. After meeting back together on the bus, David took us on a great tour of the city, Old Town and New Town and we saw some of the quieter areas with beautiful architecture. It was really a great day and the weather held out okay. I would love to come back and see more as there is so much to see and do in Edinburgh. Highly recommend this tour and David was a super tour guide.

We-3 couples of seniors- arrived in Newhaven and at the last moment noticed the tour started from Queensferry.Stupid mistake. We couldn't make it in time to the meeting point. After a couple of desperate calls to Timberbushtours office, our tour guide Gary ,drove all the way to Newhaven to pick up our group.
We enjoyed the tour and learned a lot about Scotland in general and Edinburg in particular. We`d like to thank Gary for his kind gesture and for a wonderful tour.

Just a few days prior to our day in Edinburgh, we had a tour with Timberbush in Glasgow. We were lucky enough to get our same guide again for our Timberbush tour of Edinburgh. David was so friendly and an informative guide. We toured the Royal Yacht Britannia and Edinburgh Castle, and we had time to wander around Edinburgh. We want to go back to Edinburgh again- there is so much to see there. The tour was a good way to see the city, and we were happy with the Timberbush tour.
