Cruise around the Outer Hebrides, Scotland
My partner and myself spent a lovely 10 days cruising the Outer Hebrides on the Spirit of Fortitude The yacht was extremely comfortable and the food was first class. Crew member were absolutely attentive efficient and amazing. Nothing at all was of bother to them. The cruise was advertised to include a trip to St Kilda – weather permitting. Unfortunately, our weather did not permit us to visit this mystifying island which was a big disappointment for us. Apart from that, the holiday was delightful. Something spectacular to see/visit at from every corner, scenery, wildlife small towns. One evening we has a six piece band appeared which was amazing fun. In addition, a young harpist who played some beautiful Scottish songs. Our cabin was very comfortable. Keith, out skipper was extremely informative and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise to the Outer Hebrides.

This trip was very unsatisfactory and grossly missold. We were expecting a small minibus tour as were many others from our cruise ship. Start time was shown as 9am but we didn't set off until 10.35 in a large coach. We did not get to see the Iron Age house but were driven to a beach. We've seen those before!
A very bad day out and not worth the cost. Please refund £200 of the £240 paid. The guide Annie was v unprofessional in her attitude and her choice of clothing - leggings and a scruffy T shirt. G and K Neale. Booking ref. BR-981635087

When we arrived, no one was there to meet us so I called "Annie". The call was answered by a woman who had obviously just woken up but was awake enough to regale me with the tale of a deceased in-law of her daughter, which required her immediate looking after said daughters children.

However, Annie called later to suggest a reduced tour of one or two places on the west coast for the same price. When I said we were really hoping to see the whole island she said, "fine then, I'll just cancel the booking."

I had to initiate the refund myself. This woman is not to be trusted. After a short investigation I can see I'm not the only one who has been spun a similar yarn.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately a sudden family bereavement had taken place. And as family orientated...the family come first. Yes.. another option was placed to customer following a few calls with colleagues. This was declined by customer. Full refund was granted.

Our experience with Annie MacDonald the Tour Guide was really bad.

I recently booked a private tour with high hopes of an exclusive and personalized experience. However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when our tour guide failed to show up. This was not just a minor inconvenience; it was a complete letdown.

We had meticulously planned this trip, and the private tour was supposed to be a highlight. Imagine our frustration when we were left standing there, waiting for a guide who never appeared. We had to scramble to find an alternative, and the only option was to join another group tour as an emergency measure.

The lack of communication from the tour guide company was astonishing. No one bothered to inform us of the guide's absence or offer an apology. It felt like they simply took our money and left us high and dry.

This experience left a sour taste in our mouths, and I would strongly caution anyone considering booking with this tour guide or company. Reliability and professionalism are essential in the tourism industry, and unfortunately, they failed miserably in this regard. Our trip was marred by this incident, and it's a memory I would rather forget. Save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere for a more reliable tour experience.

Run, don't walk, from this tour operator. A complete misrepresentation of the experience to be provided. Promised small van, got on a bus with 40 plus others. Promised 9:30 start time, tour commenced at 10:40. Trip ended 1 hour earlier than expected. Only three short stops. Everyone was lied to as well. A lot of upset guests but refunds were not offered and no other options while in port at the time. Wanted to Love Hebrides but came away disappointed.

My 9:30 pickup never happened. A call to the operator at 10:15 went to voicemail. At 11:30 the operator arrived with apologies that she had a family service (understandable) and somehow had forgotten to let me know (not understandable). I have requested a refund.

We got to see all listed and more, without any rush. She took us to extra places based on our interests. Especially nice was the hidden cove with crashing waves. Tour guide Anne was fun, interesting and a good driver. She gave us a lot of info about the history and other info about the places, island and people.

Annie was perfect! She showed me the most important places in Lewis and explained everything super detailed along the way. She even took tons of pictures of me.
She has an amazing personality and makes you fall in love with the island. I can’t wait to do it again. Definitely recommended!

We had a fantastic tour of Lewis and Harris. Annie was the perfect guide with a mixture of wit and deep knowledge of the area. The standing stones are a must see. They truly are the Stonehenge of the North. Annie also took us to the two other stone circle sites at Callanish via a walk on the heather. Couldn't recommend this tour higher

Started one hour and fifteen minutes late. They asked us if we wanted to see a “loom” for Harris Tweed but didn’t mention that we would then miss one of the three promised sights. Annie was very informative.

Annie was fun, informative and knowledgeable. Annie took us to many sights around Stornaway. Including the Calanais Standing Stones and the Feminine stones, the Broch, the Blackhouses and 1930s house. Beautiful scenic stops for photos and a shieling (hut) and Lews Castle amongst other stops. Definitely book this tour if you have a spare day in Stornaway. Worth every $or£ :)
