Our guide Erica was wonderful. She did an excellent job of engaging us with the history of the homes and exuded her excitement of the architectural details that we would have missed. A great tour to see sites of Old Lou most visitors to the area would miss. I would take the tour again next time I visit.

Old Louisville features the largest contiguous collection of Victorian residential architecture in the nation. And there is no better way to experience this collection of historic homes than via the Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour.
My guide was both personable and very knowledgeable. She was able to provide interesting background regarding virtually every property we passed along our walk. Further, as a first-time Louisville visitor, my guide provided important background which helped provide context to not only the area's architecture, but also the city's historic development.
Whether you’re a visitor or a Louisville resident, the Historic Old Louisville Walking Tour is an enjoyable way of spending a few hours in River City.

The tour was wonderful. Erica, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the different types of architecture. There is also a commercial tour, but I would recommend this over that one as it is cheaper, probably better, and the money goes to the historical association. The tour lasted an hour and a half even though it said an hour, so a bonus 30 minutes. I highly recommend it.

The Victorian house tour was the highlight of our visit to Louisville. Erica was our guide, her knowledge of the homes was incredible. Not only is she smart but also funny and very charismatic. We would highly recommend this to anyone interested in the history of older homes and their architecture.

This was an impressive tour that exceeded expectations. The Old Louisville area is beautiful with grand homes of the late 1800’s. We had a nice walk shaded by mature trees. Our tour guide was extremely well informed, knowing so much about the original owners and stylistic architecture of each home. It’s definitely worth checking out.

This personal and engaging tour comes with a 50-page guide book with maps and photos. The area you are in was the 1883-1887 Southern Exposition. The houses come is a wide variety of styles but the surprise of the tour is the elegant St. James Court and the equally elegant Belgravia Court. The houses here face a gardened esplanade with sidewalks. It is one of the loveliest "developments" one will ever see. Our tour guide was excellent; a one hour tour became two. Be aware: This is NOT the Louisville Visitor Center. This hard to find place is IN Central Park. Don't rely on GPS. The tour begins at a building near the tennis courts.

Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and was able to share that knowledge with such a sweet demeanor that we fell in love with her. The stories she shared made a beautiful walk so much more memorable. You will enjoy the experience.

What a great tour!! Old Louisville is such a lovely neighborhood and the houses are simply gorgeous! Our tour guide was friendly, informative and very knowledgeable about the homes we saw. Our tour guide was Kelley. She was fantastic. She was funny, extremely knowledgeable, and friendly. She engaged the group in a way that made you want to ask more questions. The route was perfect and the story of Old Louisville is fascinating. Do yourself a favor and go on this tour.

Excellent tour. Easy walking tour of old Louisville. Gives you a glimpse of what life looked like back in its early years. Learned about the history of Louisville and about the world fair (exposition) held there. Never knew that. The tour guide, I believe Erica, was fantastic. She, like me, is from Georgia. It was a solo tour with just she and I but I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation, seeing the beautiful historic homes, and learning some of the history of the area. I went at the end of February so missed the fountain working, the Christmas decor, and the blooming trees but I can imagine how wonderful this tour would be in the spring, fall, or at Christmas time. Highly recommend you take an hour or so to go on this tour!!

Hi, thanks for asking! This is just an outdoor tour of the history and architecture. If you would be interested in an indoor tour of the homes, there are a couple of events like the Holiday Home Tour and the Mansions Tour where you can go inside privately owned homes in Old Louisville.
