- cosmicjarna0 contributionsAmazing Experience with Tour StephenThis was the first time I did anything adventurous like this … it was very scary for me but also amazing and exciting. It was pouring rain - but I started this and finished this because of my amazing tour guide Stephen from Troll Adventures in Vik - Katla Volcano Ice Cave hike. I was there with my hubby and so happy I got to do this with him. Stephen guided me and he like the hand of God helping me on this path.Written October 7, 2024

- I4142MSmarct0 contributionsDon't waste your money (no value for money)If you check many pictures, descriptions etc. online, you will see several pictures from different caves - and based on that we booked this tour at the cost of around USD 200/person. When we came to the glacier, only a small "cave" of 25-30 meters was accessible. It was like buying a ticket to Disneyland - and once you got there, only a small rope swing for kids was there. Dont' waste your money on this. Do something else.. anything else.Written October 7, 2024
- zhiqiz20240 contributionsExcellent experience. Professional service. Great guide.Good good good, very amazing 3 days tour with troll, our guide Alex is very nice and professional, he helped us to shift the schedule between 2nd day and 3rd day when we can’t do glacier hiking on 2nd day due to big wind. And finally we completed all the program as wished. Great one!Written October 7, 2024
- doloresn6720 contributionsGolden Circle Tour - Oct 3, 2024Bjorn was our tour guide for the Golden Circle and was just amazing! He was very kind and made the entire trip fun! He was knowledgeable and passionate about Iceland! Bjorn took us to cool spots outside of the tour and genuinely cared about the group. I felt like he was my Icelandic uncle (lol). Bjorn is such a beautiful soul and if you decide to take this tour, I encourage you to request him! Thank you Bjorn for such an incredible experience on this tour! You are the best, much love from NYC!Written October 6, 2024

- leboeo0 contributionsNorthern lights minibus tourFirst of all Troll tours acommodated is last minute. Our driver was Huldar. He was personable and friendly, and told great stories about Norse legends. He drove us to a place where we saw magical shimmery green Northern Lights! Huldar took pictures of my husband and I. We had hot chocolate and a candy bar. Seeing the Aurora has been a dream of mine for years Altogether a very satisfying small group tour.Written October 6, 2024
- Z3968HEwilliams0 contributionsA Magical Experience Through IcelandMy Wife and I had the experience of a lifetime on our six-day tour of Iceland. The country was full of magic, beauty and culture. We saw so many sites and got to experience the beauty of the whole island. Hiking on Vatnajökull glacier was an amazing experience. Of the many waterfalls that our tour guide John showed us, Godafoss was by far our favorite with Gullfoss being second. The black sands of Reynisfjara Beach was so unique to anything I have ever seen before. The shoreline is exptremely dangerous as are the rocks so please listen to your tour guide. Our Guide John was very adamant in his attempts to keep us safe in educating us of the dangerous of this amazingly beautiful and unique beach. We got to see another unique location in Glacier Cove and Diamond beach where you can also observe fine-grained black sand. The ice that washes up on the beach resembles actual diamonds. My wife and I were also very blessed to ride the unique horses of Iceland in an amazingly scenic location. We truly experienced so much in six amazing days. We were lucky to have our tour guide John leading us through our adventure, He was enthusiastic and kind. He educated us on all of the geographic nuances of Iceland, the culture and the folklore of this beautiful country. John worked hard to ensure that we had a positive experience and helped facilitate relationships within the group. He did an amazing job in keeping our diverse and wonderful group on task so we could see as much as possible, He was always available to answer questions and did so with kindness and joy. If you get the chance, try to stay a couple of extra days so you can enjoy the Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon and the city of Reykjavik. I wish I had a couple of extra days to spend quality time in the City of Reykjavik and the city of Akureyri (The City of Love), which was a stop on our tour and had some real charm to it. I would have loved some more time to truly experience the charm of Akureyri. Thank you John for an amazing experience.Written October 5, 2024

- steelergirl870 contributionsGolden Circle and Farm Tour with TrollDid this tour October 3 with Troll's only woman driver, Cora. She gave us a great deal of information about the sites and their history mixed with a great sense of humor. Of course the sites are incredibly beautiful - even though it was drizzly and grey for a good bit of the tour. The tour covers Thingvellir National Park, where you are actually between two tectonic plates (North American and EuroAsian), the Gullfoss waterfall, a spectacular glacier-water fall, and the Geysir at Strokkur hot spring that erupts every 5 minutes or so. There is also a big restaurant, souvenir shop there. Bruarfoss waterfall is included and is stunning. The final stop was the Kerid volcano crater and lake where the wind nearly blew me away. You can walk around the whole rim of the crater. The ice cream stop was most enjoyable - as Cora said, Iceland has the best ice cream in the world. At each stop you could go as far as time would let you but always had the the option to go back to the heated bus. The tour is a maximum of 19 people. It is an all-day excursion. Lunch isn't included but there are stops where you can get food/drinks. There is free WiFi on the bus. PS - Cora is the best!Written October 5, 2024
- A5154LFjulianaf0 contributionsAmazing tourThe tour "8 days around Iceland" was a wonderful experience and it was even better because the tour group was friendly and amusing and the guide, Iskrem, was very attentive and helpful, he explained lots of things about Iceland with his clear English. We visited amazing places, some out of itinerary. I definitely recommend this tour.Written October 5, 2024
- emilycM5835KZ0 contributionsBook now! Can't recommend this trip enough! Gylfi, our guide, was knowledgeable and funny. He's a fount of knowledge when it comes to the human and geographic history of Iceland. Anna was our guide for the glacier hike, and Stefan was our guide for the ice cave. Both taught us a lot about the glaciers, specifically what makes the glaciers in Iceland unique. We came for the Northern Lights, but I still would have been extatic with the trip even if we hadn't seen them!Written October 4, 2024

We did the blue ice cave and glacier hike (4 hours).
Disappointing and much shorter than advertised. Did very little of what was actually advertised. Quote direct from page: your guide will take you to the most magnificent parts of the glacier – such attractions include crevasses, moulins, glacier mice (a type of moss), and massive ice falls.
We saw virtually none of these. We were taken up onto the glacier where there was debris on the ice (moraines). Our guide took us up to where another group was waiting to go down some steps to a small crevasse. The first group came out and the waiting group went down. We then waited for a long time for them to come back. Another group came behind us. After a while the guide of that group told our guide that the other group had already gone. So we had just stood there for 20 minutes waiting for nothing. After the crevasse ( couldn't go into the cave as dangerous), we headed up toward the main glacier and could see other groups much further up amongst moulins. Instead of going up there, our guide headed down, saying we didn't have time to go up there as we had taken too long putting crampons on. Whereas any delay was the waiting because he hadn't paid attention to what the group in front was doing. We were back in our car just over 3 hours after we had started - despite the tour being advertised as 4 hours. Therefore we had plenty of time. E to have gone up to the main part of the glacier.
All in all a very expensive hike - mainly on gravel and most of the time on the ice was just spent standing and waiting. You can see in the glacier photo the other groups higher up the glacier that we couldn't go to as 'not enough time' even though tour finished an hour earlier than advertised.

Janet was an amazing guide! She made it a lot of fun and was very informative! There were amazing views from the bottom and while going through the caves. The glacier was gorgeous! Janet was super accommodating and ensured that everyone in our group was okay during the entire experience. She was amazing at taking photographs for everyone and made sure we had good ones.

We went on the tour in early November 2023. Peak of the hike was to come close the magnificent glacial — and our tour guide Sam. She helped and supported my mother of 60 years during the walk, and she was considerate and patience. She gave much insightful information about the glacial and the area, and you could tell that she loved here job and that glacial

Amazing and passionate guide and incredible experience hiking a glacier (thanks Adam!). We took the afternoon slot and saw the sunset on the way down from the ice, would highly recommend.
The walk wasn’t too challenging, basic level of fitness required, and the views were stunning. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip.

Our excursion was amazing! Thank you so much to Alex and the team.
We had to drive about 45 minutes from our hotel (be aware the glacier is 1.5 hours from Hofn) but it was so worth it! The team was on time, and provided us with all the gear necessary. They took the time to explain the geology aspects behind the glacier, help us with our equipment, and answer all our questions about Iceland (trust me there were a lot!)
It takes about a half hour walk through the national park to get to the glacier. We then proceeded to go inside an ice cave and through a custom built network of crevices. Would highly recommend to any friends or family looking for a fun adventure with a little adrenaline.

Pascal was the BEST tour guide ever!!! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and hilarious. He was especially helpful in providing safety tips for inexperienced explorers. Showed everyone a fun time, we were lucky to have him!
Besides the amazing Pascal, the views were absolutely spectacular on the glacier. It was a life-changing experience, we had never been inside of a real ice cave before.
10/10 would recommend!!! :)

This was a great experience and our guide, Katalina, was really knowledgeable and friendly. We spent a long time out on the glacier and got to taste some glacier water, look down a crevasse and go in the ice cave. It's mad how much the glacier has shrunk in a really short space of time. You'll be given all the gear you need on site - we were lucky with the weather but I imagine it can get quite cold on the glacier so it's worth bringing layers.

Everything was well organized and went very smoothly. Extremely skilled and pleasant guide who immediately made you feel at ease. Can only recommend this tour because it is a nice combination of some glacier walking with all the necessary materials and discovering a natural ice cave in a small group. TOP!

It was unforgettable experience in myife. The weather was perfect and the guide was really nice. Before I start to hike, the guide explained the safety rules very kindly. Her name is Franziska. The blue color of ice cave amd glacier was stunning. The guide took a nice picture and even though some tourists don't listen to her, she explained again and helped them. My friends and I really enjoyed the tour and thanka for the kindest guidance.😀😀

Fantastic afternoon and a great glacier experience. Our guide, wei was very knowledgeable and took the walk at a very manageable pace with good tutoring as to how to walk with crampons on the ice. He took us all the way up to the upper plateau. Very well organized and very safety conscious. Definite recommend for anyone visiting south iceland.

The price says $152 per person but when I checked for 2 woolens it prices at over $300. How is that?
Thanks,
