This is definitely the best museum in Chicago! It is HUGE! We spent almost an entire day there and could have easily spent 2 since we were unable to see everything. We really enjoyed the gems, meteorite, dinosaur, and Egyptian sections of the museum. The movie about Maximo was interesting as well. Would definitely visit again.

Amazing exhibits. This is a must visit place in the US. Out of all th exhibits, we liked the Egypt section the most. We haven't been to Egypt and so this was a breathtaking experience to see the mummies up this close. Next favorite was the dinosaurs. Out of the paid exhibits, we visited the fantastic world of Bugs. It was amazing as well. The museum needs a whole day to explore and it will be a day well spent.

You need to allow at least half a day to see everything on offer here. The museum exhibits and very informative and laid out in such a way that you can take in all the information as you move through history. Very well done and caters well for children of all ages. Highly recommended.

There were signs everywhere saying SUE is back. The museum is two floors and quite large, we saw the mummy museum which was very good but they don't allow you to take photos of many of the mummies. Other exhibitions you do have to pay for so pay for the ALL Access so your not paying extra money left/right to see the shows. We liked this museum but the Science museum had more of my interest.

Thank you for visiting the Museum. We have had higher attendance with Easter and Spring Break weeks and as a result some of our vending machines have had to be restocked more frequently. All our vending machines are fully restocked each day. While our water fountains are turned off for drinking, the bubblers are open for refilling water bottles. You are welcome to bring your own bottle or you can purchase a refillable bottle at the Bistro. Next time you visit, please check out the Field Bistro on the main floor. They have a great selection of soft drinks, juices, coffee and even Pseudo SUE beer on draft in addition to soups, salads and sandwiches.

It had been since grade school since I had visited the Field Museum. It was not memorable in any way at the time. I took my 14 year old son to see the Wildlife Photography exhibit (a special exhibition since we both love photography) and purchased the discovery pass. Although the cost seems high, I was pleasantly surprised at the many regular exhibits that were exciting to visit, informative, and obviously updated. We visited the ancient world, dinosaurs - especially Sue the t-Rex, and gems and minerals. We enjoyed all of them. I was sad when I realized that they had hosted a Chocolate exhibition and we had missed it! We’ve visited the Natural History Museum in NYC and this was better in some ways! Way to go, Field!

My husband and I went to Chicago specifically to go museum hopping. To do that properly, you really need about 2 weeks. We only had 2 full and 2 half days. We got a City Pass and visited the Field Museum on day 1. The campus around the museum is impressive, and I recommend renting city bikes to get there. The interior can feel daunting, so if you can review maps and plan in advance, it's worth doing. We were more spontaneous and almost missed the headliner, Sue the T-Rex! We had been going for 3 hours and getting tired, so we had to get caffeine and rally. There are countless displays of nature, culture, geology and history. Any student of life will appreciate this collection.
