I have been to Chicago many times, and thought I’d seen it all! Little did I know, but I learned and saw new things I never knew about. My brother and I took the Segway tour on a chilly, but sunny morning, with Vincent leading the way. He was full of interesting facts and stories. He was also a conscientious guide for people who have never ridden a Segway before, training us, and monitoring us throughout the tour. If you’ve never ridden a Segway, don’t be concerned, this incredible technology will have you riding around town like an expert in no time! if you’re in Chicago, with a free few hours, I thoroughly recommend this tour.

There was a miscommunication about our tour guide’s schedule to work for the day. He showed up late, which can happen. Instead of being bitter, once he arrived, he was on point and we had a great time! He didn’t let the miscommunication ruin our experience. Also, the man at the store did everything he could to calm the parties who were impatient. The guy at the front desk handled adversity like a true leader. I’d book again through this place.

Our tour guide and the actual Segway experience was amazing. Tour guide Vincent was a great guide and did a super job explaining and teaching us how to handle a Segway (we had absolutely no experience). However, the person who was staffing the desk at the business was not welcoming and they had no bathroom facility to use prior to heading out. The reception guy said we couldn’t use the bathroom because they didn’t have toilet paper, the owner didn’t want to buy it. It was weird. The facility also was dirty and upon arrival, I wondered what we were in for. The actual tour itself turned out great.

We have taken many segway tours in different cities/states (Washington DC, Cincinnati, Sarasota, Hocking Hills, Ohio, Michigan) and were very disappointed in this tour. We expected to be given a headset that the tour guide used to talk to us as we glided along, explaining the sites and history. This is what we have had in all of our other segway tours, including one previously taken in Chicago through the another company.
I understand that it was too busy with so many people in the city due to the Chicago marathon weekend and they had to change the route as it was impossible to navigate the sites with the crowds. I don’t blame the tour guide for that and appreciate keeping us safe.
All we did was ride segways. As fun as that was, if this was my first experience, I don’t know that I would have segwayed again. And we look forward to seeing sites via segways in all the places we visit because of our first segway experience many years ago.
The training was not enough as well. We had friends with us who this was their first time. Asked to get on segway “and practice” on a crowded sidewalk. Not enough time or space given to get the confidence needed. They decided not to join us for safety reasons. It was the right choice for them as it would have been too challenging navigating where we had to go and all the people. We only could continue with tour having multiple positive segway tours under our belts.

I understand that putting strangers on expensive equipment and heading out on the Chicago sidewalks can be a stressful job. However, our guide was a little too intense.
If you’re looking for a chance to ride around the Chicago lakeshore on segues, it’s really a fun experience. If you’re looking for lots of information about the sights along the way, this isn’t the tour for you.

Go in the morning when it is less crowded. Vincent was my private guide and took me to all the main sites along Lake Shore Drive and then to other places that were not as well known. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city, the neighborhoods, and what makes Chicago tick. Had a really great time!

Vincent was amazing!!! My mother and I ( ages 41 and 65 ) were the only two on the Thursday afternoon tour and he helped us on and off our Segways and was so kind. He was very knowledgeable about chicago and made a rainy day fun. He also was prepared with ponchos and kept asking if we needed a break for food or drinks. We were able to ride with ease and are not particularly athletic which proves anyone can ride😜. I vote do it!!!

Had booked a bike tour but there were no guides available so Vincent saved the day and offered us a Segway tour instead. We were a little reluctant as both of us are middle aged cyclists & never been on Segways before, but it was brilliant. Vincent was very patient with the 2 of us and the other group of 5. Giving us great lessons and test runs before we set off. We then headed off South of the Pier. Vincent has some great knowledge and made the tour really interesting. Despite the issue with the bike cancellation, we would 100% recommend this tour.

Even if you’ve not done segways before, be brave and give it a go. And Bike & Roll need to give Vincent a pay rise as he really saved the day (and he saved one of the riders in the other group who was struggling) he is an absolute gem. See you in Brixton one day Vincent 😉

Myself and my friend went on the Segway tour on Sunday May 29th. The tour itself was very fun and the segways are pretty easy to use once you give yourself a few minutes of practice. Might be an idea to change the start point to somewhere a little less congested as on our tour ( which was not the tour guides fault) two groups starting fighting with each other over the time it was taking them to get comfortable on the Segway.

As I said NOT the tour guides fault but kind of made it awkward for everyone else. Where we did the practice next the park might be the perfect place to start off!

Really enjoyed this tour though definitely a lot of fun when we got going.
