      AMAZING guides!!!!
Paul and I took the 6 day adventure with the most amazing guides EVER. Lead Guide Jenna along with Gabe, Tyler, and Noah made this trip more than an adventure.. they made the six day adventure a memory we can keep in our hearts forever. This trip is magnificent in itself but it truly was the knowledge and experience of the guides that made it epic!!!

      Choose This Outfitter!
To begin - the office/store/meeting facility is new with clean, lovely restrooms!!!! And there is a coffee kiosk in the same parking lot! All personnel were friendly and helpful. Chris, our guide was so kind, quietly interested and interesting and definitely adroit at guiding our raft. Gene, our driver was kind and got us there and back easily. This outfitter company was the right choice for our family adventure!!!

      Fun adventure
Nick was an awesome guide. We had a great time. We will be booking a full day with Nick next year. He took us through the meat of the waves and we got to swim and just had a great time

      Fun, friendly, and informative
It was my girlfriend’s first raft trip and she was nervous. The route was great and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable, preparing us for upcoming rapids and obstacles. We had a great trip with Nick!

Review of 2 day overnight Salmon river trio
This was our fourth overnight rafting trip, and my wife and I had a great time. The guide was amazing, and the food he cooked was excellent. The guide, Clay, made the trip. We have done the Browns River in Colorado and the Kern River in California; the salmon was probably the mildest water. Still, Clay made the trip better than others with his personality and cooking. My first complaint is with the website. The information provided is sometimes contradictory and not precisely accurate. The only other issue was we were such a small group (that part was excellent) and only had one raft, so we could not participate in rowing the boat. We do white water rafting to be involved, so just sitting while Clay worked his butt off was not enjoyable; I'm sure some people would enjoy this, but we didn't. If we had known in advance that we would have been on a princess raft and not paddling, we would have never taken this trip or done it earlier in the season. If it had not been for the duckie, this trip could have been a river float and not white water rafting. Pros: the shuttle to and from was on time and climate-controlled. All the stops along the river were nice, clean, and comfortable. The overnight spot was great and very comfortable. Camp, our tent, and inflatable mattress were ready when we arrived at camp. Cons: conflicting information on the website and welcome email. No indication this was a raft float.

      Missing River Time!
We did a three night, four day trip down the Lower Salmon. This is the 3rd trip for my husband, our kids and me. Every trip has been a different experience, but all of them have been wonderful! The guides are fabulous, and make the trip a perfect adventure. Sebastian was our team lead. He was with us every step of our journey from start to finish. He always had exciting plans for how each day would play out. Our very first stop was gathering fresh apricots right off the trees. Blaze guided the paddle boat. He knew exactly how to run each rapid for maximum excitement. There was never a dull moment while riding in his boat. Jack captained the boat that I rode in most frequently. He was an outstanding captain. He shared so much about the history of the river. Not only did we learn a lot about the area, but we also had a terrific time running each rapid that he maneuvered with accuracy. He was always game for a good water fight or swim. I didn't make it into Clay's boat, but that was not for lack of an invite. He ran a popular boat. I could hear him captivating his crew with exciting tales. Every afternoon when we pulled into camp Gabe and Anna always made entering camp so relaxing. They had our tents up, games out, refreshments ready, and allowed our group to relax while they and the rest of the crew prepared us a delicious meal. Part of our group is vegetarian, and so is Anna. She shared with me that she was enjoying having such a big group of vegetarians on this trip. Which was so nice to hear. Gabe liked to ask what our favorite part of the day had been. It made you stop and think, "gee what was my favorite thing about today." Our group consisted of a number of family members and new friends that we had the opportunity to meet while on this excursion. Some of us had been river rafting before. For others this was their first experience, but Mountain River Outfitters made the trip an awesome experience for all. I would definitely recommend them! They really showed how much they care that their guests have an experience of a lifetime.

      Amazing vacation!
We did the 4 night 5 day trip…it was amazing! The guides were incredibly knowledgeable, hard working and a lot of fun. The guides were very organized, and the meals were amazing! I’m gluten free and dairy intolerant, they did a fabulous job of making sure I had great selection of food to choose from. Highly recommend this outfitter! Kelly Spencer

      BEST Rafting Trip EVER!
We took our 3 kids on this 4 night/5day trip and we all loved it! When planning this trip I searched for a relaxing and fun trip that did not require us to set up our camps or make food. I explained that I wanted a cocktail and appetizers waiting for us when we arrived at our camps. I also explained that I did not want to set up camps. They accommodated my requests with pleasure. The food they made us was absolutely delicious and abundant. We ate tri-tip, steaks, huge bone-in pork chops, the most amazing salads, huge deli meat and cheese selections to make sandwiches with ALL the fixin’s, they even made us fresh margaritas! We stopped several times to see historic sites and learn about the people who used to and still live their life on the river. The Guides were professional, clean, hospitable, medically knowledgeable, they knew the river. We fell in love with each one of them. Jenna, Jada, Jack-Jack, Trudy, Kate, and Katie are in our hearts forever. Their enthusiasm and passion for the river and making sure we were safe and had a ton of fun was unparalleled! We loved this trip and highly recommend it!

      Main Salmon River (5 days)
We went on the 5 day, 4 night, Main Salmon River trip. I had a great time and loved the trip. The food was good, tents held up to the rain, rapids were good despite the low water. What really made our trip great was the guides. Jenna was the trip leader and did a great job dealing with emergencies on the trip and was extremely kind and welcoming. We loved being on Jackie's boat, she was full of energy and so much fun! She was the best, number one guide in Riggins for sure. We also liked the paddle boat with Sebastian, a lot more engaging than just sitting in the center frame rafts.

      Fun Times on the Salmon
Very fun and exciting rafting experience! Our guide, Sebastian, was terrific! He was skilled at taking the larger, class III rapids with very little help from us! Warm breezes and beautiful scenery not to be missed!

Amazing Cast and Blast on the Snake River
We had a great time hunting and fishing on the Snake River for 3 days. The guides (Peyton and Aidan) were awesome. We caught salmon, countless bass, white fish, and few huge sturgeon. Also had a successful chucker hunt. The camp was comfortable and the food was some of the best we have ever had (thank you, Aubrey). Our family created some great memories and would highly recommend MRO to anyone wanting to experience jet boating in Hells Canyon.

      Boisterous water fun
We had a great family group join 2 of us. Aiden was our river guide and was friendly, fun, and instructive He ensured we all had a blast - and only tricked a couple of gullible ones into thinking there was a hot spring to check out with a short swim. Well done!

We did a full day trip on the Salmon River with our children (1 teenage and 2 adult). Office is very responsive and accommodating and guides are very knowledgeable and well trained. There was a great mix of larger, exciting rapids and floating the river to dry out. The scenery along the Salmon is absolutely incredible! Ryan was our guide and did an amazing job filling in the floating time with stories! Excellent equipment, very professional, lunch was fabulous (excellent food and plenty of it). We would definitely recommend this trip with this company and will be returning when we are in the area. Side note: there was another family floating in another boat with our trip on their second trip this summer (repeat business speaks volumes).

Great day trip on the Salmon River with Sierra as our guide. Water levels very low but Sierra still made it fun and had us all paddling and swimming to stay cool in the 100 degree weather. The lunch was very thoughtfully prepared by all the guides for a group of over 60, with many different options.

I really want to rate this outfit well but they missed out on some important stuff.

    1. On a 5 day trip the forgot the family tent for us even though I called twice.

    2. On the 5 day trip they forgot one of our passengers in mcall so we lost most of our first day and had very few stops the next few days making up those days.

    3. On a half day trip they brought the 2 double kayaks for my family but didn’t bring enough helmets and kayak paddles. Who brings a double kayak but no helmet or paddle.

In both cases the guides blamed the manifest for the lost gear and the airline for the lost customers.

When I talked to them at the office, they didn’t care. That is honestly the worst part.

We spent 12k with these guys and didn’t get all of the trips we paid for. I’m forced to assume that Mountain River Outfitters will take your money and doesn’t care after that.

Our family just came off a 5 day rafting trip on the Snake River with Mountain River Outfitters and I can’t recommend this company enough. The guides were extremely professional, the food was incredible, and the campsites and spots that we stopped at throughout the day were amazing. What made our trip especially memorable were the pronominal guides. Their knowledge about all things rafting and the surrounding countryside made us at ease and enthusiastic about rafting in general. In addition, all our guides were amazing with the children on the trip. Our kids especially loved all the evening campsite games and activities that they organized. This was our families first rafting trip ever and because of the fantastic experience we had, it won’t be our last. We are so grateful for such fabulous memories.

We just got back from the 4 night/5 day Main Salmon rafting trip. This outfit is top notch. Our guides were truly wonderful professionals, but also really fun to hang out with! They played with our kids, played with us, made us incredible food, taught us history along the trip, and more! They own multiple properties along the river, including a chance to sleep in beds and take a shower mid-trip! All the gear is top notch, newer, clean, and well maintained. They had various ways we could go down the river, from the main rafts, to inflatable kayaks, etc. We brought our 7, 9, and 11 year old daughters and were a little nervous about how that would work out, but we always felt safe with our expert guides. Might be the start of a repeated family tradition!

The MRO experience is so much more than a rafting trip. We did a 5-day float trip on the Main Salmon and lucked out with an amazing crew (Wyatt, Riley, Elliot, Jenna, Ernie). Aside from the amazing views and rides down the river, our experience was enriched with incredible wildlife, history lessons, delicious food, and much more. I cannot recommend the trip with MRO enough. Special shoutout and thank you to our crew! We can't wait to float with you again!

My Son and I (39 and 72) did the 'River of No Return' 6 day raft-kayak trip on the Salmon river. Seth and the crew were amazing! Great guides and exceptional cooks! This trip should be experienced by everyone at some point. Many bald eagles, otters and dozens of mountain sheep. The kayaks were there for those that desired to run the rapids in them. Incredible scenery. Experience of a lifetime!

Enjoyed the full day rafting and the guests on the boat. The guide was exhausted from justing having finished a 7 day trip. End of season and poor attitude. At lunch there was no hand sanitizer and both guides proceeded to touch all the lunch meat and cheese and put them on a platter for us to eat. No bathroom or port a potty available during the trip and was not mentioned on the website.

My family and I went on the 3 day rafting trip down Hell’s Canyon on the Snake River. We had an amazing time! Our guides: Ryan, John, Tim, Kendra, Kyle, Ray, and Chris made the trip memorable and fun. The beauty of the canyon is beyond description and well worth the trip alone. But the icing on the cake was the fun on the water, in the water, and through the rapids! We had the option to stay in the raft or branch out into duckies or a paddle board on the second and third day. It was full on fun! And coming into camp at the end of the day with the tents and food already prepared for us was awesome. Because of the guides, the service, and the fun, my family and I want to do this trip again!

Guides are experienced and will give you the kind of white water rafting you want. They can get you wet or try to keep you as dry as possible - but you will eventually get wet. Great lunch was provided for the all-day trip. Ask for Nick. Good outfit!
