About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Explorer404410003350 contributionsTJT: Very professional! We had such a great time with Emmanuel‘s Tanzania Joy Tour and all his Partners! Emmanuel and his sister Mary find a solution for everything. Very professional. The Kilimandjaro trek was so great. A huge thanks to the porters, so strong and so nice, Togolai Gerevas Gerard Godefroy Elias Thomas Bon Kolokolo Rashid Mohamed Ali (that's two persons), cook “Mr. Delicious” Jeremia, and guides Patrick and Lennard. They all took extreme good care of us and we managed the summit. Patrick knows his mountain and his team very well, Lennard is the Pacemaker. We chose the 8 Days Lemosho route for best acclimatization of the body, so it was pole pole (slowly slowly) and successful ;) The summit ascension (from midnight to 7am, so at night) was very cold so to any layers you plan to wear, take an extra fleece jacket in the backpack just in case. It was important for us to give the tips directly to each of them, which was accepted by the guide. It was good to see joy in the eyes of each of them. If this is also important for you, make sure to plan it with the guide (he knows who does what exactly - some porters take extra tasks). You may feel some friction, apparently some guides keep a percentage of the porters tips for themselves - remember, this is YOUR gift to each team member, so it is YOUR decision to give it personally to each of them. Now it is important to discuss the best time with the guide, to not jeopardize his organization - usually at the very end, when all tasks have been completed. Make sure to take USD bank notes printed after 2006 as the older ones cannot be used in Tanzania. EURO bank notes are also accepted for the tips. Then we had a great 4-day-safari with guide Roger (he knows so much! And is very kind) and cook Rashid. Thanks TJT for everything!Written September 20, 2024

Our guides Ringo & Eden kept us on track and ensured we summited safely. Everything was well organized. The team of porters were a cheerful group of lads doing all the heavy work which was greatly appreciated. Thanks also to Peter and Arthur we weren't short for good meals every day.Written September 18, 2024

- Z388CTstephenb0 contributionsBest Safari trip we ever had!We had the most wonderful Safari experience ever! We chose a 4 days Safari excursion with Tanzania Joy Tours and everything went perfectly, from the start to the end. Our tour started in Arusha where our driver Victor picked us up at our hotel, we drove all the way to the Serengeti National Park where we stayed for 3 days and 2 nights in the amazing Serengeti Heritage Camp, in the middle of the bush. The staff has been great to us and the food was delicious. We then visited the crater of Ngorongoro and slept in the breathtaking Tortillis Camp nestled in the heart of the jungle, where we’ve been warmly welcomed by the most joyful crew. Finally we headed back to Kilimandjaro after visiting a local Massai village. The Safari wouldn’t have been this extraordinary without our amazing guide Victor. He has been very kind, generous, friendly and was happy to share with us his extensive knowledge of the wild life. He’s an expert (20 years as a guide) and knows the parks like the back of his hand. Thanks to his expertise, we’ve been able to see all of the Big Five (Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalos and a Rhino), many more animals and the most beautiful landscapes. He has a great sense of humor and we’ve learned so many things thanks to him. Victor is to the guides what the lion is to the savannah : the King! Thanks a lot Victor and hopefully we’ll see you again for another safari! Asante Sana Rafiki & Hakuna Mata! Amélie and Stephen from FranceWritten June 1, 2024
- gaillO2379AV0 contributionsFantastic Safari Experience! Our 3 day safari was perfect in every way. Our trip was filled with wonderful experiences and amazing memories from the moment our tour guide, Prayģod, met us at the Kilimanjaro Airport. Our safari included visits to Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara during which we had up close viewings of elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, and lions all going about their daily lives—it was fascinating! Our tour guide Prayģod was extremely knowledgeable about the animals, the plant life, and the geological history of the parks and was amazingly capable in spotting animals for us throughout our safari adventure. This trip has been such a positive experience that we hope to return in the future to explore the Serengeti next time with Tanzania Joy Tours.Written May 5, 2024
- Trek205398154270 contributionsAmazing 3 day safariOur experience was incredible! From booking to drop off every part of the trip was smooth and well coordinated. Our guide Praygod was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions thoroughly. He also managed to spot animals with great acumen. During the trip we managed to see the big 5 (yes, even a leopard!) which was really exciting. The accommodations and food were great. Amazing trip all around.Written April 29, 2024
- 704bridgit0 contributionsFantastic 2-day experienceMy two colleagues and I did a two-day safari with Tanzania Joy Tours and absolutely loved it. It was well-organized and always had the clients' needs and interests at the heart of it. Our guide, Rogers, was personable, polite, and knowledgeable, sharing both facts about the animals and environment as well as personal anecdotes and experiences. All three of us women felt safe and well-cared for. Would definitely do it again!Written April 17, 2024
- Tourist096600552770 contributionsGreat 4 days SafariII was a 4 days Tanzania safari. It was between the camping and the luxury safari. t was fantastic, we saw many animals except the panther. The landscapes were beautiful. Like it was a private safari we were only 2 plus the two guides so we had a lot of space in the Land Rover. Our Guide Praygod was very interesting and very helpful. Because we were French, Emmanuel added a guide who spoke a little bit French, his name was Abba and he was very friendly. The food was good and the lodges were very confortables. Everything from the departure until the end was great. Emmanuel settled down everything for us from Zanzibar to Moshi included the planes. He is a very reactive and comprehensive person. Thank you very much for everything. I advise this company.Written April 4, 2024
- BigZawi0 contributionsAmazing experience all roundI booked to climb Mt Kilimanjaro via the 7 day Lemosho route in February 2024! I was lucky enough to be the only person on the tour which meant having my own team of a guide, chef and x5 porters. Kelvin and the team were absolutely amazing in all aspects! Kelvin the guide was very professional and caring throughout the trip, the food was amazing, I still can’t believe I was being served 3x 3 course meals daily in my tent! The porters were great, unbelievable what they have to carry just to support one person, they were so friendly and always singing and dancing which made some great memories! I booked through a third party, had I known of the professional service Joy offered, I would have just booked direct. I now plan on doing a safari next year and I will be booking direct with Joy. I can’t explain how great the whole team was, when I got back it was my birthday and they made a huge fuss with a huge cake and champagne, as usual the guys were singing and dancing and it just put the cherry on top for me! What an amazing experience I have had, Kelvin and the team really made it all possible for me, thank you so much for everything guys! I hope to see you all again soon, when I book the safari trip!Written February 26, 2024
- samihV932AN0 contributionsClimbing Mt KilimanjaroIt was a very enjoyable journey starting from booking for the climb, the climb and reaching the summit safely. The team members were like family. They took care of me and made sure I reach the summit. Big thanks for Emmanuel and his team, specifically Patrick, the main guide who has plenty of mountain knowledge and first aid skills. I also did the 4 day safari which managed to see the Big Five, thanks for Victor the driver who really knew where to find those beasts and tackle some of the challenging tracks.Written January 27, 2024
- D5537NUhugod0 contributionsAmazing experience on Ron roadAmazing experience over these 6 days trip. The guides and all the whole team were very friendly and helpful in any circumstances. - Sheparde0 contributionsOnce in a lifetime experienceWhat an unforgettable experience. Climbing the Kilimanjaro was a wonderful experience thanks to Ringo, Nemence and their team. They were fantastic all along the trip, supporting us and providing a superb experience to make the trip magnificent and fun. Ringo made sure we had the right equipment for the trip. The entire team (18 people) worked extremely hard every day to make us feel comfortable on the camp. On the trail Ringo and Nemence were amazing guides, providing encouragement and insight at every step. Every day, Ringo was checking our health condition for making sure we were okay (medical condition/appetite/heart beating/oxygen) I highly recommend climbing Kilimandjaro Mt with Tanzania Joy tour.Written August 25, 2023
- Maryam B0 contributionsSerious company and friendly peopleTanzania Joy tours is really a serious company. They were here whenever we had any question when preparing our trip to Kilimanjaro. We did lemosho route in 8 days. Our guides Calvin and Levin and their team of porters was incredible. We spent memorable days. The whole trip was exceptional. The guides are amazing persons, very friendly and this is important since we spent a lot of time together. At the final ascension to the summit they were very motivating and never let us out. The team of porter are also very nice and helpful. Really amazing people that we will never forget on this incredible experience.Written August 5, 2023
- Slosseau0 contributionsWhat an amazing experienceSo an amazing experience with this local agency to climb the Kilimandjaro. It was initially planed to make it in 7 days by the Machame route but after some days, our chef guide Patrick propose us to make it on 6 days without risk of bad acclimatization and it was successfully ! He is a very professional guide, attentive, with a big knowledge of the mountain. We were also accompagnied by Maiko, also an incredible guide, always here to encourage us, discuss about Tanzania, life, everything. Jeremiah, the cook, made us so good meals during this 6 days. And to finish, a dream team of porters was here to help us, of course to relieve us physically but also with good attentions on the camps and some of them to the top, always in an incredible atmosphere. Nothing would have been possible without this team. I really recommand this agency if you want to success your climb, in security, with a dream team.Written August 1, 2023
