Not what it used to be
Today I drove two hours up the I 4 to busch garden and what a disappointment obviously we paid full price we go in and several of the ride are not working would seemed more concern with there Halloween nights go to buy a bottle to be told oh we've run out. And now if you want to ride the sky ride you'll need five dollars each for something which has always been free. It's such a shame to me it seems like a park in decline I'd save youe hard earned cash. And find somewhere else.

Busch Gardens is wild and fun
We got in very early Sunday before Labor Day and the park was doing a great job moving customers through the lines. I want to give a thank you to the employee at Monu for being able to retrieve my phonesafely. Kashh was great a supporter of Health Oceans and a high five customer hospitality. Thanks for making my day special!

    Ms. Ignored and Brushed off
I was really disappointed in the service at Busch Gardens. I lost my phone on Iron Gwazi but when I tried to give them directions to find it I was ignored. And then when I told them I’d get myself they said that I couldn’t. So I had to drive all the way home (2 hours) with no phone to get there and no DL (it was in the phone case)it was my first visit and I’m happy to say I won’t be coming back. Really bummed out because I saved up money and got time off to come there and I wasn’t a good experience…. Also it was another person there who lost his phone and told them where to get it but unlike him I didn’t raise hell and cursing everyone out. I should’ve tried it because they definitely got him his phone. But mine couldn’t be found. SMH..

Not like it used to be...
The only good thing about the park is the rides .... if, you are lucky enough to try them. A lot has changed since our last visit. For the worst, I feel. It was one of our favorite parks, but not so much anymore. First the prices... according to bussinesinsider it is the most expensive park and they're not far from the truth. ---The parking is $34 and on top of that you have to pay a $10 service fee for some reason (I just learned it's $24 now!!) You are forced to use lockers every time you take a ride and it will cost you an additional $3 for each ride. If you plan to take all or most of the rides it will cost you about $35 - 42. You can also pay $10 and use multiple lockers but no longer than 2h each. You will also spend a lot of time waiting in line just to pay for the locker, since many times there's was only one paying machine working. ---There are no maps anymore. You are told to use the app. Fine. Except it drains your battery fast, it's buffering and is not updated too often. So what is the point? You can spend 15-20 minutes walking to a ride just to find out it's closed! - even though it's showing open on the app... Also the wait times on the app are NOT accurate at all. ---Next thing is the very overpriced food, the water ($8 for a small bottle), the beer ( $14), everything got soooo expensive it's ridiculous. ---Sky ride - you need to pay to ride it now! We were told it's the new owner's decision who took over after 2020 (?) The line to Sky ride was also long, supposedly because of the problems with the computer, and no info upfront about the required payment ( it's $5 per person - one way only!). ---Two of the rides were closed with no explanation. ---A lot of animal enclosures were closed as well due to maintenance. Lots of vendors closed also so sometimes you felt like you were walking in some abandoned place. ---We didn't take the Serengeti Express because there was no way to figure out the times of the stops! Why the app is not showing the schedule is beyond me. ---We went to one of the shows called Animals Tails. It lasted about 10-15min and if you're older than 10, it would be pretty boring. Overall, we were lucky to get on the most rides which were great fun! I said lucky, because of constant shutdowns - it rained only about 20 minutes but we were told if the lighting is within 5 miles they have to close all attractions.... and like I mentioned before, you can't rely on the app to tell you which attraction is open ... so you can just walk back and forth or leave the park - like most people did. ----One of the worst disappointments however was poor organization on the rides—no separate line for people riding alone. I remember (in the good old days) one of the employees would grab single riders (or groups) and give them seats - but not anymore. Now they allow MULTIPLE seats to go empty while other people wait in line..... ---Also they used one train only for every ride! even though the lines were getting longer and longer.... they finally added one train to one of the rides but instead of loading 2 trains at the same time to speed up, only one loading platform was used..... and another thing - I realize the loading process to be completed must meet all the safety requirements but, my god, it took AGES for each ride to take off....

    Lots of rides not working
The kids loved the rides but at least 4 weren’t working today so disappointing for my daughter who was too small for the big rides App very poor and doesn’t clearly show the ride times Food queue- took ages to order food Rapids took longer to get off of them than go round The park felt disorganised and not as well run as the Disney parks The kids loved the rides but the frustrating parts to the park would put us off going back

An amazing theme park for people who love rollercoaster and/or animals.
The rollercoasters are soooooo good here. My favourite is Cheetah Hunt because of it's really fast launches, big drops and river bits. There are also many super cute and cool animals to see here at Busch Gardens. There were cheetahs, tigers, lions, orangutans, flamingos, giant lizards, chimpanzees, hippos, alligators, giraffes and 2 bits where you could go in to see strange but cool birds.

    Excellent day out
We visited on a Monday in August as a family of 5 and the park was quite quiet. I love all the animals and was so pleased to see the tiger and cheetahs up close. My oldest daughters love all the rides - they recommend - Iron Gwazi, Serengeti Flyers, Scorpion, Cheetah Hunt. Shei’kra was good but the fast track people were given priority so the normal passes took ages to get on the ride. There is no map for this park. You have to download the Busch Gardens app. We had free food and drink every 90 minutes. We were delighted to actually find somewhere with edible food - we all recommend Chick-fil-A. It had good chips and burgers and also ice creams! We were happy. It is by the tigers. We did lots of walking. We all had a great day out. We got there when the park opened. There is a Sesame Street land which my youngest son liked the Air Grover ride. There are a few rides in there but they had no staff operating them so majority were closed.

    Humiliating experience
My son and I have been pass holders forBush Gardens, aquatica and Sea World since 2008, very happy great parks on every way but today we went to bush Gaedens and had a very humiliating experience 8//14/2024. I upgraded our passes last year's black Friday, unfortunately the person who did the upgrade didn't include Bush Gardens I don't know for what reason, today I went to the customer service window and explained the person ( Joe) who was trying to help until the supervisor (Corie) came and started screaming at me abut me being loud and no letting the other woman to help me I was trying to explain when the upgrade was done and asking the reason why if I ask no changes in the parks only the upgrade, they started to make fun of me by making hand signs to each other, the supervisor was very aggressive on her language, I'm latino and I have an accent I think that was the reason they were making fun of me. I'm going to try to contact headquarters to make a formal complain but I like to let the Latino population know what to expect when they visit Bush Gardens Tampa Bay

    Awful would never go back!
Worst experience ever at an Amusement Park!! Staff looked like they hated their jobs, unfriendly and never smiled. $32.00 to park. Only two places to eat and one was closed, the pizza place. The other place served hamburger and cheeseburgers. Charged $18.00 for one cheeseburger which looked awful and tasted bad!! Threw it out because I couldn’t eat it! All the food cart vendors closed, so no other options. Bathrooms were filthy! Was there from 12 noon to 8pm and was only able to get on three rides because of constant shut downs to rides and hours waiting in line. We wanted to leave because we were having such a horrible time, but unfortunately I lost a hat on a ride. They told us we would have to wait till the park shut down at 9pm to retrieve it. Didn’t understand why they couldn’t get it during one of their multiple ride shut downs. Checked back 5 different times throughout the day pleading with staff and management to get my hat that was easily accessible to pick up. It almost seemed like they found joy in making me wait. We couldn’t afford the lockers, attendant wouldn’t let me leave my hat on the table to pick up at end of ride, so only option was to hold onto it tightly in hand. Animal exhibits were depressing to look at, dirty and smelled. Sat at a show with others waiting for it to start which never did, no signs stating it was closed. That was frustrating. The other show was good but only 10 minutes long which I wish had been longer since it was the only pleasant thing I experienced all day. Not impressed! Would recommend staying clear. Was sorry we didn’t go to a Disney Park instead! Won’t be back!

    Don't beat around the Busch!!
Busch Gardens, as you remember it from 20 years ago....... literally. If you loved it then, lucky you.. I felt like grabbing a paint brush and helping update it even a little.. And a mop and bucket for the restrooms, really.... somebody needs to. Felt kind of like being in the movie actionpoint!!!! The Free shuttle from Central Orlando was, when it eventually showed up, driven by a genuine nice guy... we should of stayed on the bus, more entertaining.. Long way to drive from Orlando so the legendary free beer had my hopes up at least..... not sure why the world renowned brewery could only shout guests with little more than a shot sized glass then. Surprised at the underwhelming experience on the trip and actually sad in honesty.. If you're getting combo tickets, maybe leave this one off.. Unless ye simply don't mind

    Could be a great park
The rides and attractions are excellent so for that I give credit. It could be a brilliant park if it wasn’t for the following issues. We did have a great day tho and I would recommend a one day visit. The staff…they are not at the levels of Disney or universal in terms of friendliness or helpfulness. They don’t even look happy. I also don’t think there are enough as we saw groups of people (adults included) banging on the windows of the gorilla enclosure to get the attention of the animals which I feel is unacceptable. The food is also very poor. We had the all you can eat ticket and didn’t expect much but the standard and options were far less than you get at Seaworld and Aquatica which are sister parks.

Amazing experience for friends and family.
I went to Busch Garden FL in June 2024 with my family and it was an amazing experience, from the roller coasters, the amazing shows, and the night fireworks. It’s a great experience for friends and family, although I recommend going on a weekday if possible and getting at least 45 minute before park opening, believe me I regretted not arriving early when I went there a few weeks ago, I highly recommend it

Ride closures due to breakdowns and weather
We visited the park as we’ve had many a great time before and was so looking forward to this part of our holiday and ended up a complete write off. After arriving and going on Montu it all went wrong. After queuing ages for a spot of lunch we went for a walk before trying the rides. The queues for the rides we went on took longer than it said at the start only for them to breakdown or close for inclement weather in which Tigris and Cheetah Hunt done both when waiting in line. At the end of the day had to come out of Cobras Curse due to a dead slow queue which took a lot longer than the 40 minutes it originally said as we were running late for our pickup. Overall my son went on 2 rides, me, my wife and stepson went on just 1 and my daughter didn’t even get on any. We traveled down from Orlando just to do this and ended up wasting a day of our holiday. I hope this isn’t the norm with Busch Gardens as we’ve had so many fond memories of the park

Blocking out the fun, ruining my time...

Get the point yet? In case you haven't, here is the breakdown of my last trip to Busch Gardens EVER. We arrive, only to be lined up, to get to pay to park. We were then graciously allowed to line up for the tram that takes you to the park. Then, you are allowed to queue for 45 minutes to get through ticket services and security. And these were just the short times. We spent at least 30 minutes in line at every ride that wasn't congo or the log flume(even with fast pass). Every food/drink cart was at least a 10 minute wait. Multiple rides were broken down throughout the day. The kumba, congo, sheik-ra, skyride, falcons fury, and phoenix were either closed or broken down at multiple points of the day. The food is so overpriced there should be a federal investigation. I've ate cheaper on tropical islands. We were charged $30 a person for the honor of eating the, without a doubt, worst buffet of my life, at the parks signature restaurant, the serengeti outpost. Tasted like it was bought at Sam's Club and left in a freezer for a year. Then, after 10 hours of this madness, we finally gave up and left the park, tired and defeated. Only, we had to line up for 45 more minutes to catch the tram back to our vehicle...

If you plan on getting to the park early, don't. Park opens at 10, but nothing inside the park opens until 1030, so you get "lined up" to get into the park twice.

Long story short, if you like dropping a couple hundred bucks per person to stand in line or be walking around the park 90% plus of your time visiting, and eating old, disgusting, high school cafeteria quality food, you are going to LOVE Busch Gardens. If you don't, well, find a better place to spend your hard earned money...

I truly hate to give Busch Gardens a poor rating, but we had a miserable time. We got the discount tickets for $54 each and went on June 18th. The line getting in and have everyone's temperature checked was organized and moved quickly.

I understand that they were working with the restrictions enforced because of COVID-19, but if you can't deliver a decent experience for your guests, just don't open at all.

The lines for the rides were at least an hour if you had a fast pass, and 2 hours for other guests. My boys got to ride TWO rides because they're open 10 - 6. The heat was miserable and I understand that Busch Gardens can't control that, but there was very little shade or fans for the people standing in these long, long lines outside the Que.

Restaurants and food stands were operating a minimal capacity which created even MORE long lines.

On a good note, they did serve beer !

The new years eve celebration at Busch Gardens is a total mess. The preferred parking lot ($45) was completely full; there was no one checking at the entrance so other people parked there. We bought tickets online and made VIP reservations for the ice skating show and the fireworks ($650 for two adults and two ten years old) and yet, they make you get in line anyway so they can give you a band that gives you access to the Christmas town and your reservations. It defeats the purpose of selling the tickets online. The lines were huge; wasted a good hour on that. Then, to my disappointment, the Christmas town is nothing more than a few very overpriced huts that sell you food and beverages. It has some lights but very far from being christmassy. The lights are scattered around the park. Half of the rides were closed and that made the ones that were open to have two hour lines. Thankfully, the ice skating show and the fireworks made up for the rest. Will never come back. Being a Disney annual pass holder teaches you how service excellence is made.

After reading some of the negative reviews I thought about cancelling our trip to Busch Gardens. I'm glad I didn't and we had a fantastic time. I booked a hotel package a stayed at the Hampton Inn just across the street form the park (the hotel has a complimentary shuttle that is quick and easy to use). Although it rained the morning we arrived and some rides were closed, we were able to walk around and see the animals and get an over-view of the park. Our package included one day of unlimited meals which was good especially for the drinks which we got almost every hour in order to stay hydrated. We stayed the first night until closing and after the fireworks show. We arrived just before opening on our second day and purchased another meal package and two Quick Que passes which allowed use to go to the front of the ride lines. We never waited more than 10 minutes for nay ride which allowed us to ride A LOT. Our favorite rides were Tigris, Cheetah Hunt and Montu. Unfortunately, Cobra's Curse was not working, but we were given limited Quick Que passes which we used on our third day to ride a couple of rides. We rode every thrill ride at the park (all are great) except Cobra's Curse, Falcon's Fury and the Rapids Ride (we didn't want to get drenched), went to both shows Electric Cirque and Turn it up, rode the train ride several times and walked a lot. The park is clean, well organized and the staff are friendly and helpful. With the Unlimited Meal Plan which we had for our two full days at the park you are allowed a meal (entrée, side or dessert and beverage) once every hour from the restaurants. Yes, the service could be faster and lines get long at "regular" meal times, we didn't have any problems. We got a beverage from a kiosk (it's not advertised, but allowed) when we first arrived at 10:00, ate an early lunch, got a beverages at 1:00 & 3:00, ate an early dinner, got a beverage at 6:00, 8:00 and 9:00 (it's hot and we needed them). One day of the meal plan was included in our package; the other day cost $45 per person, but I calculated we would've spent $80 or more without the plan (yes, the food in the park is expensive). The Quick Que pass which we purchased for our second day was $100 person, but it allowed use to ride everything in the park without waiting (one ride we went on had a 1 1/2 hour wait and we only waited 10 minutes). Our third day was short since we had a plane to catch, but we were able to ride three rides and the train around the park before leaving. Are we glad we went - YES. Would we go back - YES. Don't believe the negative reviews.

We have been pass members for three years and love Busch Gardens.

However, we have visited three or four times since its reopening and are disappointed in its enforcement of mask compliance amoung its quests. Each time we have gone, there are more people without masks - brazenly so: walking around, in lines outside and inside (e.g., Cobra's Curse and the train ride). We have also noticed less hand sanitizer use amoung guests and less social distancing. I have brought this to the attention of employees and last time left a message with customer service at the park requesting a call back. Still waiting for that call back.

We also visit the Disney parks where there is 100% mask compliance. Cast members will gently remind guests to wear their masks and wear them properly. No issues. We feel safe.

I don't bring my almost five year old son to an amusement to be sickened. I expect a family friendly park to value his safety, my safety, and the safety of their employees.

It is not my job to try to enforce the mask wearing policy.

I do not bring myself or my son to a park to be cursed at and insulted by grown men who are endangering everyone around them after I have pointed out that they are not abiding by an emergency order that they agreed to follow before entering the park.

In the words of my almost five year old son, "people need to stop acting like it's the old times."

This place was so packed today, there is no way they are limiting the amount of people. Lines just for food was over an hour and a half wait . The ice show that used to be in the building is outside now . Which is fine but to charge an upgrade fee of 20 a person for preferred seating is ridiculous. When it was inside you got preferred seating with the platinum annual pass. They are not wiping down tables or rides between people. We have had passes for years and today was more crowded than before COVID. Workers are rude, there is no social distance in any lines but rides are every other seat but you are shoulder to shoulder in any lines . All rides are 1 and a half to 2 hour wait . I made a huge mistake buying annual passes again yesterday , asked for a refund as we did not feel safe and was told sorry they do not offer refunds and it’s a binding contract . However they mislead you on there website promising limited capacity and protocols.

For as much money as BG Tampa brings in, I have to say my family was very disappointed. Many attractions and food snack kiosks were closed. No personnel to man them. My teens were able to ride 4 rides ALL DAY. Yep, you read that right. FOUR.

We ate at the Pizza Oasis and stood in line over 1.5 hours. Then another 10 minutes once we had our food to get to the slow cashier. We complained to a manager who said they are understaffed. Ya don't say! $110 later for our family, we sat down to cold food.

One other very disappointing event was trying to get on the train at Nairobi. We waited almost 2 hours before the announcer said the next train would not be running. When we inquired, a staff member said the park isn't busy and the staff members that "conduct" the train have to take a course that is 140 hours long and not just anyone can do that job. Well, if we ran our company like that, we would be out of business. Needless to say, the people behind us who would have to wait another 2 hours never knew the reason for the long wait. Mismanaged? Yes. Understaffed? Yes. Did the staff care? No. They were flippant and didn't give a rip. Too bad people do not pay 60% of the cost of the ticket since that is about what was open and available for families, if that. BG is known for great shows. Oh, they, too, are closed. I do not think we will be back anytime soon. A major disappointment!

Be sure you wear a mask! Social distancing isn't enough. And be sure you don't pull it down beneath your nose to breathe for a few minutes, you might be asked to leave. Disappointing once again.

I had never heard of Busch Gardens when we decided to visit but I am so glad we did. The tickets are much more affordable than the theme parks in nearby Orlando and in my opinion the rides were much better and the park atmosphere a lot more enjoyable.
We went on a Saturday with beautiful weather and found the park to be a little busy but not packed.

Parking was easy, with a tram to take you from the parking lot to the park entrance. We did not have to wait in either direction.

As with most theme parks, food and drink is quite expensive but there are lots of water fountains dotted around the park for a drink.

Unfortunately the wooden roller coaster was closed which was the main reason we decided to go there so that was a shame but I certainly did not feel I missed out with the other rides.

We rented a transferable day pass for the lockers for $8 which I recommend as this gives you peace of mind to store your belongings at each ride.

Most of the rides had short lines so there was no long queues except for Cheetah which we waited about 1.5 hours for, and I must say was worth every minute of the wait. The ride is incredibly unique and a really great experience.

The cable car is a great way to get from one side of the park to the other and there are excellent views of the park and the animals.

All of the other rides and attractions are fantastic and a lot of theme are unique to the park.

We had a great day and would not hesitate to return

Thursday at 10:00 am in early March was a perfect time to visit this amusement park. We had no lines for the rides until the end of the day, and those waits were short. We were impressed with the Cirque de Soleil show and we loved meeting the giraffes on our Serengeti excursion. Erik was a knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Our favorite rides were Sheikra and Cheetah. They were smooth and fun and the front row is the best! The animals seemed very healthy and well fed and some of their conservation funding was supported by our admission fees. I would highly recommend this place.

On 12/28/2020, I took 5 grandkids and two adults to the park. There was a pretend temperature check in a room full of people with a camera which supposedly took our temps. Waited 90 mins in line to get a meal, limited table availability outside due to no inside seating. Waited 2 hrs to get a a ride which only seated by family leaving over half the seats empty which only enhanced the wait time. There were very few place to eat and those open had extreme lines and prices. Many attractions were closed all under the guise of Covid. Spending $900.00 to wait , eat and wait again for one ride did not constitute good value or a good time. Contacting customer service by mail and still waiting. Not a happy customer and will not return or recommend.
