      Absolutely brilliant!
I am not really a drinker but I dutifully attended a tour here with my husband for his birthday. From the minute we sat down I was absolutely enthralled with the explanation of the beginnings of the business, the family story & the complexities of distilling whiskey. We were treated so well & I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Stuart was a gracious, engaging & generous host. I loved everything about this tour. As for my husband ? Whiskey lovers heaven!

Whisky for one, knowledge for two, great experience.
On a recent trip to the Mornington Peninsula, making some final arrangements for our small group tour in October, we visited the distillery. Sarah was a delightful guide for the tasting Brendon undertook, we both learned so much more about their business, their heritage, the story behind the name and of course about the fabulous single malt whiskies. We didn't leave empty handed and look forward to returning with our small group. Well done Sarah & Stuart, and delightful to see you collaborating with the other spirit distillers in the peninsula as well.

A perfect outing for Whiskey Lovers. As avid Whiskey tasters we are never sure what we are going find Chiefs Son left nothing to be desired. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere inviting and the Whiskey was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting experience and look forward to returning. Until then we will very much enjoy the spoils of your labor.

      A great whisky
Great whisky reasonably priced. I have purchased over a dozen and never been dissatisfied. This whiskey is running its own race.

Great experiecne to do with friends or family... Would do it again
This is a great experience, even if you are not a whisky drinker. We did a family distillery tour with cheese at Easter and it was fabulous. The tour was about 2 hours and it went too fast. Having the opportunity to be on the distillery floor and with Stuart, the distiller was magic. Stuart is so giving of his time and took us on a journey and we learnt so much... like the role beer plays in the making of whisky. We tasted, we stole whisky from the cask, ate delicious local cheese. and left with a sample bottle and other bottles. My dad just loved it and said it was one of the best things he has done. My dad is a whisky drinker, but I dont think he'd experienced really beautiful whisky... His fav the Tanist

      Locals supporting locals!
What a lovely experience after lockdown! We were met by Stuart when we walked in and welcomed warmly. Our group consisted of just four people, making it quite a relaxing tour. Stuart was most engaging with his story and how the distillery began. It is a family owned distillery who are passionate about what they do and are constantly evolving. The cheese platter, which came from the Boatshed Cheese in Dromana, complimented the whisky tasting so well. We left extremely happy with a few more bottles added to our collection. Highly recommended!

      A wonderfully warming experience
Absolutely wonderful experience, we are not super big fans of whiskey but are now super big fans of the Chief's Son Distillery. So much history and passion shining through for such a new (in whiskey years) venture. Take some time out and stop in for a tasting.

Another excellent reason to visit the Mornington Peninsula
My husband and I took my parents for a tasting and we had a wonderful time with Naomi and Stuart. We pre-ordered a cheese platter to accompany our tasting and spent an hour and a half being educated about all things whiskey. Naomi was patient, passionate and generous with her time. Each whiskey was superb, it was hard to choose a favourite - which is why we went home with the sample pack. Definitely a must do if you like whiskey.

Naomi was very informative and patient with us explaining their unique way of distilling. I’m hooked and purchased on the spot. Great tasting choice of whiskies.

      Amazing experience
Don't let the surroundings fool you. As I was unable to walk up the stairs to the tasting room we were lucky enough to do a tasting in the distillery. Love the story of how the company was started. Whisky was stunning. Can't wait to come visit again.

When we first arrived at what is a factory in Somerville, we weren’t expecting much of an experience or tour. The shop/ lounge area is well appointed and comfortable.

Stuart then took us all on a wonderful journey telling us his families Scottish roots, how he became a whiskey maker, and about the wonderful processes and equipment they use all while tasting whiskeys and feasting on a great cheese platter. We had such an enjoyable tour.
I would recommend this to anyone.

I highly recommend this distillery for a wonderful introduction to some of the best whisky's available. Stewart (the founder) is not only a really nice and sincere man, but also spends personal time instilling a wealth of knowledge and makes sure the customers questions are answered to the full.
I have already told a lot of my friends that they must pay this venue a visit. I will be there again also.

We had a great time tasting whisky and listening to the history of the McIntosh family. Stuart rolls out a good tale and is quite charming/amusing in his delivery. A fun way to spend a few idle hours, couldn't recommend more.
    Well done Chiefs Son

We first sampled this fantastic drop at the Good Food & Wine Show in Melbourne. My hubby was convinced their Single Malt was direct from the Scottish Highlands. We just had to visit the Distillary. Distillery Tour with Cheese Board ... here we come.

The distillery is well laid out and very modern. Our tour was held by the chief distiller and co-owner Mr Stuart McIntosh. He held our interest for a good 1 1/2 hours. We learned so much ... from the beginning .... 900 years ago to today. Not saying any more than that. You will need to visit for yourself.

The cheese board was great and the tastings were stunning. Will certainly be going back. LOVE THE VODKA too.

Visited for the tour last weekend. All the staff were warm, friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable. Wonderful personal touch as the tour was lead by the founder complete with family history and stories. The Whisky and Vodka featured is some of the best we've had outside of the Scottish Highlands. Quality is superb and well worth the purchase price. Couldn't fault this as a weekend visit and their hospitality is beyond reproach. Thoroughly recommend this to everyone.

Stuart was a fantastic host, providing a fascinating insight into the creation of whisky as well as the genesis of Chief’s Son and its evolution (created and run by Stuart and his wife).

A delicious platter of local cheeses complemented the four tastings, with Stuart offering extra tastings of some other varieties. Encouraging us all to help ourselves to a take-home sample by drawing from the barrel using a whisky thief was a nice touch!

Thoroughly recommended for anyone who has even the slightest interest in whisky!

Very detailed and interesting explanation of the whisky distilling process by the very skilled and passionate owner. There were tastings of four whiskies and a cheese platter, followed by further samples in the main processing room.
And each attendee gets to fill a small bottle from one of the premium whisky barrels take home.
