Fascinating display of the 700+ year history of golf with detailed information of how the sport has evolved. an Opportunity to take a swing at the 130+yard hole to win an award. Plenty of interactive and useful information, even for those not familiar with the game.

We saw the sign off Hwy 95 and stopped to visit. My sister is a golfer and she enjoyed the exhibits. The ground floor is dedicated to Bob Hope, which was excessive. I thought the $20 fee was a bit pricy for an hour experience. The gift shop was limited, they only sold men's golf shirts, no women's clothing. If you are near by and love golf, stop but don't make a special trip.

A lot of reading and looking at photos. So I guess there is an option to get headphones, but no one offered them when we bought our tickets. The best part was watching the movie about Bob Hope. There is a lot of information presented on poster boards that you need to read up close. Two putting greens to try wood putters and then metal. A golf simulator where you can try a par 3 from a famous course. The last room are lockers of famous golfers. Pretty boring to look at clubs, shoes and balls.
The gift shop is a joke. Like a very mini pro shop. Need more interactive presentations

Very fun for adults and our 5 year old granddaughter was only a little bored so consider that a win. Only complaint was the gift shop had very little overall and extremely limited for women and nothing for children

My wife and I are both avid golfers and enjoyed this experience tremendously. We wanted to visit this museum before it leaves our home state next year. The two-story museum begins with one whole complete floor dedicated to Bob Hope and his contribution to expanding the popularity of the game. There was a virtual golf hole and two putting greens. A replica of the bridge on the 18th fairway at The Royal & Ancient St Andrews Old Course was also intriguing. I also enjoyed the exhibit giving a perspective of the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass, as well as the opportunity to attempt a similar shot to a similar island green outside after the tour. We enjoyed the displays demonstrating the history of the game as well as the individual lockers of each member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. The audio self-guided tour was good and well worth the $5 extra, although the numbering system on the displays seemed to make no sense in trying to follow sequentially. Also, some of the recordings did not match what we were seeing. We visited on a weekday afternoon (Thursday) and it was not crowded at all. (That's probably one reason for the move to Pinehurst!)

My fav part was the tribute to Bob Hope. I wish I had more time read everything but we arrived later than planned. The earliest years of golf was also very interesting!

This is a must see even if you are not into Golf. I did not realize how much Bob Hope did for Golf. He said acting was his job but Golf was his passion. The Locker room was set up from A-Z of the golfers lockers. This was so interesting. Some of the lady golfers had their dresses when they were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame will close the end of December 2023 to move to Pinehurst NC and reopen in June 2024. Unfortunately, the space will be smaller and most of the stuff you can see now, trophies, golf clubs, bags and other items will be returned to the owners and/or estates. In Pinehurst, it will be digitized. Go and see the actual items.
I am not a golfer and I really enjoyed this museum.

What clubs do they provide for the island hole challenge? What is the distance? Can I bring my own club? What is the prize if you make it? Bragging rights would work, but just curious!

About 150 yards
All kinds of clubs there to choose from.
Not sure if you can bring your own, but try it
No prize.. just bragging rights.
