About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- BruceLafleur0 contributionsThank Tour Guide TroyThanks to Troy for all the nuggets. We lost power in our Palm Coast home for a couple days so we came up to Saint Augustine for the day. We have been to St A's many many times but never took the trolley. The tour was amazing. Saw places we didn't know were there. Parking is very limited and expensive (like $20 for the parking garage if you can get it) so we park around the first outside the city and walked to the first stop.Written October 12, 2024
- UncleDawg010 contributionsWhy would you not? What a great way to see St Augustine. The trolleys are clean, on-time, convenient, and all of our guides were informative and professional. Doug was the best!! I don’t know why you would ever want to try to see Old Town St Augustine on your own, providing your own travel, dealing with parking, and trying to navigate the windy, narrow streets. We could have spent 3 full days riding the trolley and exploring downtown, maybe more, and the trolley would have been our choice for how to do it. As it turned out, we only had one day but the trolley allowed us to make the most of it. Pro Tip: Start early and walk the castle before it gets hot, then ride to stop 12, get off and check out the self guided tour at the distillery, walk or trolley to stop 13 and take the tour and tasting at the winery, walk one block to 1 Twenty Three for the best burgers on the planet (black and bleu), then back on the trolley for the rest.Written October 8, 2024

They never responded or refunded. I guess the money is more important than our safety! Very disappointed.Written October 8, 2024

- MrFRCookman0 contributionsSt. Augustine July 2024St, Augustine is a really great excellent experience . The old town is full of great restaurants and the culinary experience is off the charts. The trolley tour is a nice change of pace. The St. Augustine Distillery is a great experience and tour with free samples. The spirits are top notch and worth the price. Don't forget about the barrier island across the bridge. Good restaurants there too,Written October 1, 2024

I'd really like to rate this 4.5 out of 5- the only negative was the ridiculous wait to get our tickets at the ticket counter. We purchased them through Groupon, but had to wait in line to get our stickers and receipts; we did this at The Old Jail which is a very crowded trolley stop mostly because the parking is free at this site, which is an almost unheard of thing in St Augustine. Loved the tour itself- worth the cost for sure!! Also purchased tickets to The Fountain of Youth and were disappointed at how underwhelming that experience was (we don't recommend spending the $ for that at all).

By doing this affordable means of transportation, you get your bearings and after the entire tour, decide each area of the city to tackle. If the spirit moves you, hop on & off. Take the free maps all over offered and plan visually & you will be HAPPY you did so. This is how we “learned” St Augustine best & for years now know where we wish to go. It’s great to save steps from one side to the far other where we choose ton”walk” or “ride”.

I purchased a package that gave me two days' passage on the trolley as well as admission to the St. Augustine History Museum, and guided tours of the Old Jail and the Old Store. Even though I only ended up riding one day, I feel like it was well worth the price. Not only was it a super-convenient way to save steps and see as much of the town as possible, the tours were a LOT of fun! Compliments to "Jasper" at the Old Jail and "Dottie Grace" at the Old Store, who managed to keep me engaged in spite of the heat!
The only fault I can point out is that I was not aware that there was a free hotel pick up available. I chose not to drive, and it wasn't a bad walk (about a mile), but August in Florida is pretty stifling! Maybe I missed the notation on the booking page, or maybe it just needs to be in BOLD TYPE!

Beware of overcharging at the venue ticket booth. We purchased the trolly tour that included the jail, store and fountain of youth. We added a Harbour cruise. As we made our way to the different attractions we discovered we paid more than if we had purchased tickets at each individual place. We asked if there was a military or senior discount. They said no to military, but said they were giving us a senior discount. We figure we would have saved at least $20 each if we had purchased our tickets individually using each attraction’s military or senior discount and buying the trolly tour online. Our trolly driver, captain T was great. They picked us up at our hotel and returned us at the end of the day. It was nice to be able to see the city and learn the history. We were hoping to be able to stop and see a few things, but after the second stop, we realized that was not going to be possible. We waited 45 minutes for a trolly that wasn’t full. Decided to just stay on and drive back the next day to see what we wanted to stop to see. At every stop we made there were long lines of people waiting with no room on our trolly. Capt T had to keep apologizing and telling them there was another trolly right behind them. We will be in Boston in June. Hope we have better luck there because it looks like Old Town Tours is pretty much our only choice there.

We took the Beach Bus from Anastasia Island into St Augustine each day and not only was the bus driver a great tour guide, but also the trolley drivers in Old Town St Augustine. You can get a three day pass for cheap and can hop on-hop off on any of their locations. John was our favorite Beach Bus driver.

So we waited until we got to St. Augustine and bought our tickets at one of the kiosks. We had been told that they offered a Military Discount but was not told what it was and it is not offered online. So we assumed it would be the customary 10-20%. Nope! We received a 2-day pass, tickets to the Old Jail, History Museum, Old Store and Wax Museum for 2 for $70. Online that would have been $60 per person. This tour was great! The historical information provided by the guides was really interesting. The availability of the trolley meant you did not wait more than 15 minutes for the next one at a stop.

The trolley tour was great but be careful of what you buy. I could not get enough info on trip advisor so I paid double what I should have. I would suggest booking directly with old town trolley when you are in town so they don’t charge for a two day pass and 3 cheesy exhibits you may not use. I do not think I will book through trip advisor again

If you have never been to St. Augustine and want a great way to get around this is a fantastic option. Parking fees are very expensive in St. Augustine but with the trolley you can park free with a tour. The guides at the center, on the shuttle bus, and on the trolley are all very helpful and friendly. We had two of the most fantastic guides, Chief T and Bob. They were very willing to help! Let me offer some helpful advice. Park at the welcome center near US-1 because the parking is free and the shuttle will take you to the trolley tour near where the old jail, oldest store and museum are located. They also will be very helpful getting a shuttle back to your car when you are finished. The last shuttle is at 4:30 so make sure you are at a stop on time to get the last shuttle. Bring some change with you to tip the great drivers. Also start early in the day so you can see everything on the your. There is a lot to do! Thanks so much for the awesome memories!

This was our very first time in St. Augustine. We just loved this city!
The Old Town Trolley Tours was a fun way to get around St. Augustine and to learn a lot about its history. Also special places to hop on and hop off.
The tour guides were very professional and well-versed with the all aspects of this tour. Some were a little bit better than others with the pace and clarity of their words, but all of them did a great job. They were also very helpful and patient if you had any questions.
Senior discounts were available, but even without it, it was well-worth the price.
One stop included the "Fountain of Youth." At first we thought that it was going to be boring, but it turned out to be one of our favorite stops. It was just not about a fountain (where you really can sample the water), but there were also many interesting exhibits and demonstrations. The grounds are very large, and it is right on the water.
We also enjoyed a nice lunch on the grounds. (Some great hot dogs! A bit pricey, but big enough to justify the price.)
The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The exhibit attendants were very informative and instructive.

Drivers shared interesting historical facts but were difficult to understand. We recommend only parking at main site by museum and jail. Very difficult to get a shuttle back to our car at other parking lot. Took close to an hour with several shuttles passing us by. Trolley car is difficult to board for older or challenged folks and they don’t run enough so they are packed. The only time we could sit together was when we boarded at station 1. After that we always had to jump into any available seat and were separated forced to sit with strangers during COVID. Several riders weren’t wearing masks. When we asked a seat mate to please wear one he said “I don’t have to I am vaccinated”. No one to assist driver with enforcing mask mandates. The only sanitation was at station 1 but not between stops and there are around 23 total. At some stations the trolley was so full that none of the waiting people could even board. Doubt I would ever do this again. Not worth the money for all the aggravation.

Does the $57.72 price include one day or two on the trolley? It shows one day in one place and two days in another.

What are the hours of operation for the trolley?
Written April 1, 2021
Many place, including our hotel, had mask requirements. Mask wearing was enforced while I was there and a city fine was in place. If you've had your shots, the explanation is that wearing a mask is not to protect you; It's to protect others who are vulnerable: elderly, young unvaccinated. chldren, Imunnocomprised individuals. Those who a vaccinated are also still carriers. So it's not for you; it's for those around you.

We are planning a trip to St Augustine and my husband is a veteran of the US Navy. Would we be entitled to the Military Discount? Also, is this venue a good way to see the Christmas lights?

Overview states you get 3 consecutive days pass with a Hop on Hop off ticket. On your What to Expect, it states you get 2 days pass...which is it? What is the address/location of the Hop on Hop off parking lot? Is the parking lot near the Old Jail where you pick up your tickets?
