About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- alenamG8513XG0 contributionsAmazing experienceI loved every single part of the trip. The best thing was that you really see the real Dominican life on the village and you can buy some real cocoa and coffe from the farmers. It’s been really a great adventure! 100% recommended. And please if you book make sure to leave a tip for the drivers. They don’t gain much and you can really make their day! 😊Written May 29, 2024
- Adventure7067380 contributionsGreat excursionYou get a lot for your money it was very nice. It was a great trip. Me and my husband have a wonderful time. We did not speak Spanish, but we did not feel left out.Written August 10, 2023
- 730carterj0 contributionsFantastic. The tour was very expansive and covered a wide range of experiences available to enjoy in the Dominican Republic. The tour guide was VERY impressive in his mastery of many different languages and in sharing his knowledge of the country’s culture, economy, politics and history. If you want to experience the real Dominican Republic and immerse yourself in the culture, this is the perfect tour. 10/10 would recommend.Written April 12, 2023
- BrendaV3840 contributionsFantastic delve into the real Dominican RepublicVery knowledgeable guides who gave us lots of information about the island and people. We visited a cigar planation, church, coffee and chocolate farm and a beach. We would highly recommend this tour.Written March 6, 2023
- P8440MVkarlab0 contributionsNightmareMy husband, brother and Sister in law thought this sounded great. I ended up fracturing my left foot and had to leave. My brother and sister in law continued. The buggies were low to the ground, they were jerked all over and covered in mud. The cenote was man made and small. They didn't even know what it was, the trip to the beach was ok but there was too many people. They were directed to go shopping at every opportunity which got very frustrating for them. Overall, they felt it was not fun.. The individual who booked this activity said it was great, not too difficult. Great for a family. We tried 3 of the activities by this company. I would NEVER book another one Waste of time and money.. I was completely disappointed.Written November 12, 2022
- P8440MVkarlab0 contributionsLong dayI was anticipating a wonderful drive and a better understanding of the DR people. Well, we traveled in a bus without AC. It was hot and the roads were terrible. I kept hitting my side and left arm continuously. We only had 15 minutes with horseback riding, a walk thru the church, less than 30 minutes at the beach and 10 minutes shopping. We spent way too much time traveling compared to activities. The school was nice but I hated interfering with their school day. We also spent a lot of time looking at the house and looking at chocolate and coffee beans. This activity could have been better if it was arranged differently. I feel we spent too much time in a bus where we were bounced all over. The lunch was the best part of the day. I feel it would be a good activity if they arranged the differently. I was not happy with our time spent on this tour. I really wanted it to be comfortable and educational. Lastly, our guide spoke mostly in Spanish. This tour is not for everyone. I would suggest they get new buses and change the schedule to allow the participants more time at less places. I would delete the shopping tour. It was terrible with the smells and crowded areas.Written November 10, 2022
- gabrielahX8181KC0 contributionsA little bit of everythingLorenzo was our guide and he did a great job explaining everything, making it fun and interesting. He and the driver picked us up on the hotel on time, although there was some confusion on the list over our name as we had booked through another travel agency. The tour took us to Higues and the first stop was on a horse ranch, cigar making and a shop with paintings. We rode the horses for about 15 min to go back and forth towards the back of the property. One of the guys working there noticed that I was nervous since my horse kept pacing and he offered to take me and he even took photos! Super nice and talked to me about the ranch and the horses. At the front, the cigar maker gave us a demonstration and you could purchase cigars. Also, Lorenzo provided more information. Then, we went to a sugar cane plantation and stop on the side of the road to see it up close and Lorenzo cut some for us. Next, we stopped at a elementary school. This part was sad, a lot of kids were asking for money through the windows of the bus. The school had a little box for donations too. It was good to see how Dominican people leave, but sad they had to resort to begging. After, we did a stop in Higuey see the market and the cathedral. The market I would have skipped since there was a lot of construction and holes. The cathedral design was interesting and stained glass beautiful. Our stop for lunch was at El Salto de Anamuya and there is a river behind it. Some people were swimming. It was buffet with spaghetti, rice, salad, some fruit, pork chop and chicken if I remember correctly. The next stop was at the cacao and coffee farm and the house of a really nice lady that she let us tried cacao before processing and some hot chocolate. She also sold some coffee and cacao products. We were able to tour her house to see how traditional Dominican houses are built. To finish we went to Macao beach. The beach is beautiful but it is too rough for swimming. When we went it had red flags on it. Even Lorenzo said to not swim or to stay very close to the shore as the surf was rough. There are some bars and restaurants you can sit down too for shade as well.Written May 14, 2022
- Traksis0 contributionsGreat value and experienceAmazing experience from start to finish. Made great by our guide Lorenzo, who was very helpful, educational and knowledgeable. It was very interesting to see how the real non turistic Dominican republic looked like. If the rating could be higher would rate higher than 5 starsWritten May 6, 2022
- M4721ZXjennifero0 contributionsFun fun in the sunSo much fun! The guides were amazing, the beach water was warm and the cave was super cool! The tour was very interesting as well!Written April 24, 2022
- David C0 contributionsBest Punta Cana Tour!!This was by far the best tour/excursion we have ever been on. Every single minute was perfect!! It was incredible to see how they live. The Dominicans are the most resourceful people I have ever seen in the world. The tour guides made the whole day so much fun but yet so educational. I will definitely be doing the tour on our next trip back to Punta Cana!!Written April 21, 2022
- Navigator7777555660 contributionsEnjoyable tour with local flavorWe did the full day tour (non adventure). This tour provided a varied perspective of the wider Punta Cana / La Altigratia area. I liked that we visited small local places instead of polished touristy places. It felt that we were contributing in some way to small providers in the area instead of feeding money into large businesses / chains. Our guide was very knowledgeable and seemed committed to helping the people of the DR. He brought treats for the children at a local school. He also went out of his way to help my 87 year old father find a comfortable spot at our beach stop. Lunch was good and we also purchased the photos - saved us from getting our phones out all the time. The team were on time and very friendly. I’d definitely recommend this tour.Written January 7, 2022
- miumiu4all0 contributionsInterestingInteresting tour. This is a long tour with several stops. It was good for the price we paid. I enjoyed all the activities we did. The beach at the end was amazing. It is beautiful and I wish we had spent more time there. The only thing that gives me pause is the horse back riding. The horses we rode were very thin and did not appear to be well cared for. My horse seemed to be convulsing on the tour. It was an unpleasant experience. I would recommend this tour though. It’s a great way to get a feel of the local area in a few hours.Written January 2, 2022
- amersj20160 contributionsSave your money, go someplace elseBooked this trip for my family of 4 for 10 am. Received a message that I would be picked up at 1045 and that the time frame I booked for was “suggested” and could be changed by the tour company at any time. We arrived at the tour and it was so disorganized. We were told to just sit and wait, but when I asked someone else, we had to fill out a form. No one seemed to know what was going on. Once we finally got to the buggies, we were taken on a quick 5 minute drive, we stopped and they did a presentation on coffee and chocolate, pushing you to buy over priced cheap items. When they found out we were American, they thought they could swindle us by charging $35 for a cheap coconut string bracelet. We got back on the buggies for an hour drive to a beach. The beach was nice and warm, but riddled with people trying to get you to buy food. After about 10 min, we jumped back in the buggies and drive another hour to the cave. There were so many people that you couldn’t go down to see it, let alone jump in. We were only there for 10 min. My son ended up falling on the rocks, and scraped up his leg pretty bad walking up to the cave where we parked. We wanted to try and get a taxi back, but was told we couldn’t because there weren’t any. Our biggie also was running out of gas as we pulled back into the tour and many of the buggies ended up breaking down. The weather was pretty awful this day as well, which was fun at first because the mud, however it ended up down pouring multiple times and you couldn’t see anything in front of you. I understand that the weather cannot be controlled by the tour company, but it was not a pleasant experience. Our guide was a very nice man named Gino. Overall, the experience was not worth the money. Save it and find something else to do. We planned to be there for the four hours as noted, but was picked up at 1045 and did not get back home until 5pm!Written December 19, 2021
- Dewayne M0 contributionsBirthday CelebrationIt was a great time! Wanted to get a little more muddy than we did! I was cramped in the buggies so next time I would do the larger ATVs.Written October 30, 2021
- Storyteller749980 contributionsFive starsWe had a blast!! We were met at Baia Principe resort. It began with a little confusion getting all the people from different resorts on the many different excursions. When all sorted, our guide, Emilio and driver Roberto took us into the country side. Emilio was terrific!!! His English was great. He explained the people and history. (Warts &all) First stop an overview of the island the a tour to watch cigars being made and an overview of the Rum. Emilio was informative & patient. Next stop the city od Heugley, and Catherdral. Emilio walked us through explaining everything (ladies need leg cover: skirt [wraps are provided] pants preferred for men) the off to Maria’s house- an authentic Dominican home with authentic meal. Emilio took us on a tour of the floral & fauna, explaining the bananas, coffe, coca… growing all around. Then to a demonstration of how they are prepared. - a short sales pitch to sell it all. We had a homemade authentic lunch prepped by Maria. All our questions were answered and treated with upmost respect. There was a rainstorm so the river swim was a dud. No one’s fault. Still a bonding w/ our other tourists. All in all - 5 Stars!!! Jorge met us at the airport and gave us all the do’s & don’ts. (Dint drink the room water and beach vendors. We felt safe and cared for. Everyone was professional. Worth every cent!!!Written October 18, 2021
