This was an amazing experience, even as a Miami native there was so much to gain from the tour. Gary Francis was the tour guide and he is definitely 5 star material, solid 10/10. At each of the sites, Gary was able to order diverse options from the menu and he was very knowledgeable in the architecture, history, and hot spots in Miami. Gary made the people on the tour feel comfortable with each other, asking questions, giving us pop quizzes, and spreading his contagious laughter. Overall, the food was phenomenal & filling (definitely going back to a few spots), meeting people from out of the country was great (one guy bought the whole group drinks at a discounted price...just cuz), the view and weather was beautiful, and Gary Francis was the REAL DEAL. I highly recommend choosing him as your guide & highly recommend coming to the Miami Food Tour with friends, family, and even kids. It’s appropriate for all.

Great food, wonderful overview of the historical and cultural context that influences the food in South Beach. My favorite part was the way Gary Francis connected with all of the participants and encouraged us to get to know one another. We learned a lot about our own food experiences and places we have traveled. I also really appreciated the way he honored the stories of the owners of the restaurant. Do not miss this!

Worth every single penny!!! We had Sol (tour guide) all to ourselves and she did a fantastic job at explaining the city’s history and cuisine we were indulging. For 4 stops and a 3 hr tour, you really can’t beat this price. Highly recommend if you’re a foodie, AMAZING tasting!

Richie was a wonderful host full of knowledge, facts, trivia, and just good ol' conversation. He did an excellent job of keeping everyone engaged and entertained, and he had plenty to talk about with everyone from the young college students to the upper middle-aged folks.
There was just enough food at the five stops on our tour to give everyone a good sample. And depending on your group, there were some guests who filled up early leaving plenty for those with a more hearty appetite. The selection of restaurant stops was a very good mix of flavors and cuisines that were very representative of the collage of cultures found in South Beach.
It was a walking tour that had enough time between stops to let the food settle and be ready for the next taste adventure. As we walked, Richie provided highlights of the local architecture and history of South Beach. He was full of information but also did a wonderful job of engaging all his guests in the conversation. Truly a great experience!

Of all the tours we've been on in cities across the country, Richie made our tasting tour the BEST. He was full of information about Miami, from stars, shows, architecture, trivia, and more. He had us laughing and sharing stories the entire time as we sampled delicious cuisines from Central and South America. Well worth the price.

It was more enjoyable than anticipated. Richie was very entertaining but also had the skill of engaging us with one another so that we became a group that enjoyed sharing the experience together. The food experience made it well worth it, but learning about Miami Beach and the culture from Richie made it worth twice the price!

So the food tour I was going to take with my friends was full so I had to book this one solo and boy am I happy how things worked out! Gary was such an amazing host! Under his guidance the streets of Miami Beach became a museum with so much to discover. Not to mention that every restaurant he took us to was exceptional. They were all all places I know I would have never considered on my own. Gary had a bunch of ice breakers, warm conversation starters, and fun isims to keep us all engaged and dissolve the awkwardness that can arise when waiting for food in the company of strangers. I was solo on the tour, but I never felt alone. Gary did such a great job of making our group feel like a small family for the duration of our tour. 5/5 would definitely recommend!!!

My favorite part of the trip is deep diving into the cultural explanations of the food we are eating. It makes you appreciate it much more. And Gary was pleasant and took care of everyone as much as he could. On our tour, it happened to begin downpouring like it was a hurricane, so everyone got soaked and ran through the rain to get to point to point, but everyone had a nice attitude doing it! It was a lot of fun, a great experience I would recommend! It rains a lot in Miami so I suppose I would recommend to be prepared for rain! For the tour itself, I think I expect to eat a bit more than we did; I suppose maybe adding another food stop would be a good idea

Gary is that guy!!! He was very informative and full of energy. He even had other suggestions on places to visit while in town. I highly recommend him if you're visiting Miami Beach and want to taste a variety of foods.

Can vegetarians attend this tour?

Yes. They have some vegetarian options. The food portions are small & are meant to be shared with the whole group that’s touring with you. So keep that in mind, cause you’re not getting your own individual portions.
Could a vegan attend this trip?

I don’t recall vegan options, but maybe if you tell them ahead of time they could cater to that. The portions of food are also small and meant to be share with the whole group, so keep that in mind cause you don’t get your own individual portion.

There are two of us. We are tourists and the only day we have to do this tour is February 18, when we are in South Beach. I can't seem to make a reservation. Do you not have a tour on this day? I hope you do.

Are there options at each stop for vegetarians?
Charlotte M
Palermo, Italy1 contribution
I’m sure the guide could accommodate you if you let them know in advance. There were full menus at each of the restaurants with veggie options. We really enjoyed the tour - the food was excellent and we learned a lot about the history and architecture of Miami.
The duration of the tour says 3 hours, but each stop says 2-3 hours so exactly how long is the tour?
