      Great trip!
Not many fish biting on this chillier day but still caught some keepers! Mate Demi was super helpful multitasking to bait lines, help reel in fish, untangle lines etc and was so friendly!

      Trip Cancelled - great service
Travelling to Miami from the UK for a bachelor party, unfortunately the trip was cancelled due to the corona virus travel ban. Vicki at the reward fleet was very helpful and refunded our entire deposit (party of 15) no questions asked even though the terms of are agreement meant they could have kept it. The service was simple and very professional from start to finish, if we reschedule I will definitely be booking with them again, great customer service.

The ship captain and first mate were wonderful! We caught fish and had an amazing time. Very reasonable priced and good tackle/bait. Hope to go back very soon

      Waste of money
Really bad experience, old/badly maintained boat, not helpful crew, boat never anchored, no attention to kids, too many people - lines crossing all the time, sea too rough for fishing - should have cancelled or postponed, if you needed water, had to pay for it. It was the worst fishing experience. Kids were excited, but were not able to catch anything. Many people got sea sick.

      boring trip, rude staff
Thankfully my cousins and I purchased groupons or else it would have been even more of a waste of money. We visited Miami hoping for a deep sea fishing experience to remember. The staff were condescending and making rude remarks when we asked for tips. Only 1 person caught a fish and the other was caught by the captain. It was a complete waste of money.

Bait and Switch is the key here
When you visit the web site they show a picture of a nice looking boat and the description is even better. When you show up they use a different boat that I think they salvaged from Giligan's Island. There was no inside place, no bathroom, no place for most people to site, and the crew was a motley bunch that seem to hate people. When I talked to someone later in the restaurant near the dock they say that is the most common complaint and they are forever saying sorry on behalf of Miami for the dirty tactics this company uses.

      never again even if free
invited to go fishing on the reward fleet with friends who bought discount tickets through groupon. where to start? boat filthy and very worn, bait in bad shape, crew the worst (only wanted to fish for themselves), couldn't care less for the customer. friend tried to talk to owner and was blown off. very very un-professional. when in south fl. i always make a point of fishing as much as possible. take my advice and stick with the boats at haulover park marina. (kelley fleet, lady mitchell, etc)

      Don't waste your money!
This boat is an absolute tourist trap. The captain is a fast talking scam artist, with little real boat handling skills. The boat was over crowed and the crew was inept to say the least. I would never pay to fish with Wayne Con man again.

      Good times great fish!
Awesome time, went out on the night trip and caught a variety of species including yellow tails, muttons and especially some really nice-size mangrove snappers. Capt and mates worked hard to ensure all had their rods bent and upon return even cleaned your catch. Will definitely be back for future trips!

      Great day!
Great day and great trip! The crew was outstanding and very helpful. We were on the "small" boat, which didn't feel that small even though there were 25 people on board. Some lines got tangled, but again, the crew was amazing and helped us work it out. I didn't catch anything, but other people on the boat did (including my boyfriend, who reeled in a nice-sized snapper). The captain even let us stay out longer because things started picking up as it was time to come back in. We will be going out with them again, for sure!

Man these guys really try to make it happen for you to catcgh a fish!!! Outstanding time.I caught abiout a 10 pound fish (5 pounds- you know what I mean!).the water is really clear.the boat is the right size to withstand teh waves. They know how to drift over the wrecks and locate where teh fish are.peiople on biord caught some king mackrell and a spanish one also.Really inexpensive. It was 50 dollars plus a tip to the crew. For 4 hours.I will be in line again.Very safe.At one point they placed chum in the water and you could vew at least 10(okay 4 kings in the water.)Great folks who were concerned about if everyone had a good time.the correct circumstances could produce.

      FUN!
Went on a Thursday morning $50.00. Their was about 10 of us. I did not catch anything but 3 people did. I felt that the $50 was worth the fun boat ride itself. Nice/fun people I will do this again for sure!!

Huge waste of money and time !
Very unprofessional folks!! Let this company pass you by . . . made reservations for a party of 5, left a contact number, verified it, call the day before to verify the reservation and drove from West Kendall to South Beach at 7pm to catch night tour. Got there and was told tour cancelled due to busted throttle cable and captain being sick on floor of the office. Asked why I wasn't phoned prior to my leaving home and nobody could answer. Was told that "crap happens." This was Dec. 30, 2012. As I already paid, we rescheduled for Jan. 1, 2013. Got there at 7:15. First ones there. Requested the stern for my party of 5. Was told that stern is reserved for 'regular' customer?!?! What the hell! It is always, always, first come, first served. Anyway, 8 p.m. came around and we were told that not enough people for the tour, so the boat won't be going out! Not all confirmed passengers for that evening's tour paid up front, so no tour. Owner said that he must have $400 worth of revenue to go out for the night. So sorry . . . try and reschedule for another day they said . . . not on your life!! I got burned twice, never again! Stay away . . . David in Kendall

Thanking the crew for an amazing trip
My boyfriend is a regular fisherman and water guru, on the other hand I had no clue how to even reel a fish in. I have been a handful of times on the boat and have to admire the attentiveness of the crew and Captain working along with my boyfriends patience, they were all great help in making my fishing experience successfull. The Mates and Captain are hands on and even let you take over when they've hooked a good fish!

I went to Miami Beach on a winter get away trip from Boston with my wife who doesn’t fish in the ocean. I found the Reward Fleet, through good ratings. I went out as a solo on a half day trip. The captain, & 2 mates were experienced, helpful, & very good at what they do. The weather conditions weren’t the best, cool temps, fronts moving through rapidly, & winds around 20 knots sustained. The Captain still managed to put is on the fish! I would highly recommend the Reward fleet for a half day trip when Miami. Easy to get to the docks, affordable, knowledgeable crew, & Cap knows the fishing grounds very well.

Lol this was a joke. Not one person on this boat got even a bite!!!! That is a skill in itself. People were very upset and so was I. Captains response to everyone’s reaction was “there just aren’t any fish today. Sorry”. SUCH A JOKE. In all my years of fishing this was mind blowing to me that no one even got a bump. There were no fish in the areas he took us to. Awful.

Before I begin I want to make it clear that I am not reviewing the actual fishing trip as I was not able to do so.

The customer service I received was absolutely terrible when trying to book at trip. I called and was told that there wasn't enough people currently booked for the trip to go (completely understandable). I was told to call back around 1830 to see if the trip was going to go. I called back at that time and was met with an attitude. I asked if there was another day that would work better and was responded with "oh my God, I guess I will have to look then, you know I'm already at home right?" I understand not wanting to do work at home, but when you specifically tell someone to call back at a certain time, you shouldn't be given such an attitude when you do. I understand that right now the tourism industry is not doing well, but I giving prospective clients an attitude before they even show up isn't making things any better. I would love to go on the trip, but I guess I will spend even more money on another company just to have a better experience.

The four of us were up early, 5 a.m. leave the dock! This fishing boat was fast and the Captain and Mate are very experienced. It was still dark when we started off to the Continental Shelf which is about 30 miles from shore at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Things were a bit slow in the beginning of the trip so Captain Jamie made the call to head to the part of Sargasso Sea to try our luck. This is where the knowledge and experience of Capt Jamie and Mate Jeff make all the difference. Once we got to the Sargasso grass we were on the fish! In no time we were on schools of Mai Mai. There were times that multiple fish were in the line at the same time! My daughter Amy showed up her father, brother-in-law and husband by catching the largest fish! We caught our limit of the these most tasty fish. I cannot recommend the Phideaux enough for your fun and serious fishing trip when at the Outer Banks!

The Rewards Fleet isa great place for kids! My 12 year old son and his friend went deep sea fishing and they loved every minute. They went by themselves ( without us parents) and never did we worry. It was a wonderful experience that furthered their independence in a safe environment.

The Captain was extremely helpful. He answered all our concerns well before we decided to have our son go on this independent journey. My son learned a lot about deep sea fishing from the Captain AND Hector. They answered all my son's (relentless) questions without throwing him overboard!!!

The Captain helped ensure that the boys had fun and learned about fishing line/lure safety in the process. The Captain also gave us advice on how to cook the freshly caught mutton snapper. We will definitely send our son and his friends on the Reward Fleet many times.

On a side note: Viki from the office was helpful as well.

The crew was terrible, very mean, rude and impatient. Shouting and scolding at us just because we don't know how to use the rod.About 15 people on board and only got 3 fishes throughout the whole trip. Definitely terrible experience. If you wanna ruin your day, fish with them! If you wanna spend money, I would recommend you to donate your money to the charity rather than giving it to them.

Everything about this trip was so much fun! Capt. Wayne Conn and his crew were great! Helpful, friendly, funny, and they tried really hard to give us an amazing experience, even in the adversity of strong winds and currents. Plus, Capt Wayne also was really knowledgeable about the area, types of fish, and all things fishing and diving, giving a bit of a tour about the area while traveling to our fishing site. This was such a fun experience!! Highly recommended!!

The boat was old and disgusting. The staff don’t care about greeting or interacting with customers. They care more about fishing for themselves. They catch their own fish and just throw them on the deck where they flip around for all to watch as they suffer. Bizarre and grotesque. I had to ask them to stop cursing..:f-bomb this and f-bomb that…with young children and elderly people on board. Have some respect and sense of decency. You’re running a business. Cater to your customers and don’t show a picture of a nice looking boat when in reality it’s a dump. I asked a crew member if he was the captain. He said no and walked away. Don’t waste your time or money. Please.

Of course they would use PayPal which favors the seller during billing disputes.... We showed up for our fishing trip and the dock was literally empty and they did not answer our calls or emails. I wish I would have thought to read the reviews here before booking with them. We based this day of our short Miami vacation around this fishing trip, so it was a pretty big bummer. Still trying to get our money back...

I'm obliged to give one rating for this attraction. This is not based on the fishing experience as one did not take place. As I say in the title BEWARE. Do not plan a valuable days holiday around a fishing trip with this company.

They state " available three times a day for regular scheduled trips". There is no mention of a MINIMUM number required and escalating prices before their scheduled trip takes place.

In an attempt to go for a days fishing I arrived approximately 20 minutes before scheduled departure. Directed by a member of the crew to the office where my details were recorded.

Other people were also waiting and at approximately 9:20 we were told a party of six had not turned up and if we wished to go fishing the cost would now be $85 not $50. I can only assume as the numbers decrease the cost increases again a fact not mentioned in their website.

Others were not prepared to pay extra so the trip was cancelled. Holiday time wasted getting to and from their location and waiting around for a mystery party of six to appear.
