    Great!
Great! Richard’s tour was thorough, accurate, informative, and mindful of guests on the tour, keeping us in the shade where possible, offering water breaks, and bathroom stops as needed. I felt so much more connected to the area knowing the history of the land and people of Key West. So many fun facts! Highly recommend.

Best Walking Tour I Have Ever Taken!
Cannot recommend this tour more highly. Richard, a Key West Native is extremely knowledgeable and informative. Personal anecdotes added greatly to our enjoyment and understanding of Key West’s colorful history and lore. Be sure to ask about the Secession of KW from the U.S. in 1982. From Truman’s “Little Whitehouse”, to local flora and fauna, Hemingway, popular restaurants and cockfighting, this tour covers it all. We loved every minute and commend Richard for a job well done! Book this tour now, you won’t be sorry!

Wonderful walking tour of Key west!
Loved our walking tour with Richard. He has lived in Key West all his life and knew his facts and information about the city. Even though it was a 1.25 mile walk, it didn't seem that far as Richard stopped many times along the route to tell us about the place, the history, and the people. We had a great time learning about Key West and recommend this tour. Take the walking tour when you arrive, because Richard will send you an email with restaurant recommendations that you can try on the other days you are there.

Excellent Historical House Tour in Key West
We recently took the historical house walking tour in Key West and was very impressed. The tour was informative and interesting, providing a great insight into the city's history. The guide was very knowledgeable, answering all questions with detailed responses. His expertise added a lot to the tour, making it more than just a walk around the city. The pace of the tour was good, allowing enough time to take in the information and the sights. The guide's storytelling brought the history to life, making the tour engaging and enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend the historical house walking tour in Key West. It's a great way to learn about the city's history and see some beautiful architecture.

We had the opportunity to have a private tour with Richard. He was well informed and truly loved his city. He used a microphone so all 7 of us could hear (including my grandparents) and he walked at a pace that we all felt comfortable with. He found places for us to sit along the way, even though it was less than a mile walk. The history buffs in our group were eating up every story, even my daughter (10 months old) found it engaging. This is truly a wonderful experience for every person in your group! Couldn’t recommend this enough - can’t wait to come back & true another one of their tours

We are in Key West every year, and doing one of the walking tours is always a favorite activity for us. This year we did the historic homes tour which was both fun and educational for anyone who enjoys the history and architecture of beautiful old buildings. Our guide, John, was energetic, fun, and kind. He made the tour come alive because he knew so many great old stories and legends about the people and families of Key West. There is just so much interesting history on the island, and we learned many new things on the tour. I was concerned the information might be too in-depth, but it was perfect. John held our attention throughout the entire tour with his stories and the fun facts he taught us. This was, without doubt, one of the best tours we have ever done in Key West.

If you want to learn about Key West this is the tour for you! Richard, our guide, deftly combined history, architecture and human interest with a little celebrity gossip in an interesting and informative manner as we strolled portions of Old Town Key West. When asked, he also shared information about museums and his favorite restaurants. We have taken numerous walking tours in the US as well as Europe and I say without hesitation that this was one of the best. It lasts about 2 hours but it is over before you know it because you are so engrossed in the stories. Don’t miss it.

Richard was an amazing guide who has lived all his life in Key West and knows everything about the island. We have visited here 4 times and wish we had taken this tour our first trip. What a wonderful way to learn the history of the area and see the beautiful old homes. The number of participants is small and he amplified his voice so he is easy to hear. He has wonderful stories about his youth, his parents and grandparents that makes the history very personal and fun.

We’ve taken many walking tours across the world, and the best ones are done by residents who know all of the “insider” information. Tour guide Richard is one of those local residents, born on the island and armed with lots of personal stories to make the historical and architectural tour information even more interesting. You just can’t beat having personal photos to spice up a tour. The group is kept small, so he can respond to questions, and he uses a personal sound system so you can easily hear what he has to say. And, he’s just a witty guy. The pace and length of the tour are good, the content interesting, and as a lagniappe he offers an extensive listing of what he considers the best restaurants (including the best dishes) to help navigate the 200+ local restaurants. Well worth the time!

Excellent tour. Tour guide was a native Key West ‘er who was extremely knowledgeable about the island and its history. If I had only one complaint it was the length of the tour, but we knew that going into it. But two hours can drag on after awhile. But he was funny and engaging and kept the tour moving at a good pace. After the tour was over he emailed everyone a long list of restaurant recommendations, which was very helpful. Would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn a little about the history of Key West and its historic homes

We loved this walking tour! Richard not only taught us about the historic homes in Key West, but also a lot of interesting historical facts about the city. We feel like we learned so much in our two hours with him!!! At the end of the tour, Richard also emailed us over 25 of his favorite restaurant suggestions. We can’t say enough good things about this tour!

Richard was an exceptional guide being native to Key West for three generations his depth of knowledge stories and insight was phenomenal we highly recommend doing this to our tour. It is high value for the cost of the tour. Immerses you in the culture history and logistics of what has happened to this island paradise over 200 years. The details he provides about understanding what you were looking at is exceptional.

Attended this tour on the recommendation of a random cafe owner. So glad I signed up- this tour brought a new level of interest to the sights I have been seeing here in Key West. It truly is a richly layered place with so much history you will never appreciate on your own. The best parts, like everywhere else, lie in the nooks and crannies where the real meat is. Get to the bone.

Take this tour- it is well worth your time, cobbles together many “must see” sights and brings them to life beyond a simple photo snap. But you’ll also appreciate learning about the exotic trees and plants that you’ll likely not see at home. To my surprise, this was one of my favorite “memories” of my time here.

Richard, the guide, serves as a historian for the city of Key West. His knowledge of the city is exhaustive and authoritative. He talks almost non-stop for 2 hours, so he offers tons of information about the city. He’s also very pleasant, interesting, and fun to listen to. All in all one of the very best walking tours we’ve done, and we’ve done a number. You won’t go wrong with this one!
