My wife and I researched on the internet the night before we planned to go on a catamaran trip. Yes, I admit, it was already too late to find a spot on one of these boats/ catamarans provided by companies, but we liked the offer and price for this FURY adventure. That’s all we wanted to do.
Almost 2 hours of catamaran touring and 1 hr of snorkeling.
The next day we went into town onto Duval Street and stopped at one of Fury’s boothes. Mark at the booth was very helpful, explained different tours and was not pushy at all.
We booked through him in the morning and the tour started at 1 pm.
The crew was fun, helpful and they explained what to expect and how to approach the reef.
The snorkeling was awesome, we we approximately 30/40 people going into the clear blueish/greenish water.
We saw turtles, fish and jellyfish and the corals.
After almost an hour we got back on board and the catamaran made his way home for another hour with a lot of margaritas, beer and music.
Overall a very nice 3 hr trip, full worth the money.
We can always recommend this trip unless you wanna do a fancy one and there are trips out there which cost 3 times more p.p.
* one little side note
When we approached the little check-in house to get the tickets, the young gentleman could have been a little bit more polite. He actually cut my wife off when she started to explain what we wanted…

A bit too much focus on the booze cruise portion for my liking. Tell us how plastic cups look like jellyfish and that the turtles die if they eat them, then pass out 90 plastic cups. And way too many mentions of tipping the staff
That said, the staff was helpful, the boat and equipment were clean, and the sights were great. It’s Key West and I don’t think there are any snorkel trips without booze since it seems that’s what everyone expects (I did my fair share of drinking too!) We saw dolphins on the way to the reef and hoped to spot them on the return trip. It’s possible that they broke out the Macarena and other popular dance songs to fill in for the absence of dolphins. Keep your eyes peeled for flying fish! They’re quick and fleeting, which is likely why the staff don’t stop to point them out. I would still recommend and go again. If I could make recommendations to the company: ease up on asking for tips and consider safer cups for the floating bar

We originally booked the trip for a morning. Unfortunately at 7:00 that morning there were thunderstorms and inclement weather all day requiring cancellation. But between 7-8 am there was no information. I was not sure if we still were expected to show up in the rain. The catamaran trip was fun but the boat was packed with people. Traveling at 7 miles per hour we lost 1 hour each way. The snorkeling time was less than 45 min. The trio started at 9:30 and we were at Sloppy Joes at 12:30 for lunch. The equipment was not great and there was little instruction for novices. This could all be overlooked except that the snorkeling experience itself underwhelmed. The constant buffering of waves in the open ocean detracted from the experience. I have snorkeled in St. Thomas, St. Lucia, Bahamas, Key Largo, and Cozumel under calm conditions closer to land. Compared to those trips I thought there were few fish and few corals to be seen here

It would have been a much nicer experience if the guide would have actually guided us towards the coral reef.
We arrived with the boat in front of it and then, after we geared up, the people working on the boat just told us where to swim. I am not even sure if I’ve seen the coral reef as I wasn’t sure if what I was witnessing was it - hence depressing climate change situation and the reef does not almost exist anymore - or I did not quite reach the reef at all.
By paying the ticket to a tour of the coral reef one would expect a bit of guidance maybe with someone expert coming with us out there. Instead everyone just stayed near the boat checking the time to when we had to come back.
A bit disappointed as that was THE experience I wanted to have while in the keys.

We regret that you were unable to enjoy your trip with us as it is our goal to deliver a fun and safe day on the water! Unfortunately, we do not offer guided snorkel tours. Our captains and crew are very dedicated to the safety of all our guests and must stay aboard the vessel so they can see all participants from above.
Normally, guests see amazing marine life and coral heads! Unfortunately, all of our water adventures influenced by Mother Nature. Many days underwater visibility is 80+ feet and teeming with sea life; some days are not. Though we hope that every day is perfect, we are always happy to have guests join us on the water for a unique snorkel experience. We hope to have the opportunity to have you back out with us again!

Had so much fun snorkeling around the coral reef. It was a windy morning with trough waters but the crew did a great job of preparing everyone and even offered us the option to reschedule to a day with calmer waters. We chose to stick with the trip as planned. The crew was fun and very accommodating. We even saw a barracuda which was pretty darn cool. Had so much fun we almost went back the next day to do it again!

Buyer beware! If a storm rolls in after 6 a.m. they wont answer the phone, text you back or, once you go to the dock in the pouring rain, let you reschedule...you get to go on a boat, in the rain, to a barren cay because they cant safely take you to the coral reef you booked a trip to. The efforts of the boat crew to detract us from getting ripped off were valiant, those kids are the only reason I'm giving a 2 instead of 1.

Fury runs a very efficient operation but it is not for the avid snorkeled.
This is a tourist trap style charter, which may be enjoyable for a novice snorkeler looking for a one time experience or someone looking for a cost effective option. However if you are experienced, this may not be for you. There are A LOT of people on each boat. Which means lots of flailing people, lots of fins in your face, etc. And then the boat rides themselves are not spacious.

Ron and Zane went out of their way to make sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. The water was very choppy, which made for difficult snorkeling at our first stop. Visibility was better at the second stop than the first, but not fantastic. They were encouraging without being pushy. That said, what I really appreciated was when we first got on the boat, Ron explained to everyone that the water was very choppy today and there would be full refunds or rescheduling if you didn’t feel up for it. This is the right way to go; big kudos. Several groups took him up on this; since I’m not the strongest swimmer, I wish we were one of them - we should’ve rescheduled.
I was super surprised that they allowed smoking on board. Even though you are outside, this is not a great thing when you should be encouraging mask wearing during Covid, plus it just adds to seasickness.
Also, I wish they would’ve encouraged people to wear masks the whole time except when Snorkeling or having a sip of something to drink - or, if folks need to take their masks off, ask them to at least put some distance between themselves and others. Fury may be operating at reduced capacity, but you are still sitting pretty darn close to others… Not a problem when you’re out in the open water and the breeze is whipping around, but still.

For some reason, this company felt that 3 foot rolling seas allows for Snorkeling. Its one thing to continue with the trip as the seas are rough from winds etc because you would still be capable of doing the actual event you're paying to do. No one and I mean no one can actually physically snorkel in 3 foot rolling seas. This company just wants your money and does not care.

My wife and I, along with our friends, enjoyed the Double Dip trip with Fury around 9/25/20, and we had a great time! It seems that they've changed the name to the Living Coral Reef Snorkel Adventure, so that's why I'm reviewing it here.
We had Andy and Cameron as our captain/guide, and they were both phenomenal! We went on a day that had high-wind, and Andy warned us ahead of time that it would be choppy, and we may want to reschedule or even get a refund (which I was impressed they offered). We were leaving Key West right after, so we pressed on. A number of us on the boat felt...not great by the time the boat pulled back in, but it was still a great time! There was nothing else Andy and Cameron could've done for us to keep us comfortable, it was just the condition of the ocean! If you know you get car/sea-sick and they give you this warning, I'd recommend trying again on a calmer day if you have the chance. No matter what, though, I can't recommend Fury highly enough!

Can you bring your own snorkeling gear? I'm not comfortable using gear after someone else, even if they are sanitizing it.

There are 1-2 life guards in the water with the group, and there are always life vests and safety rules reviewed before you enter the water.

Do you offer life jackets for children? My 6 and 8 year old daughters know how to swim but I would feel more comfortable if they were in the open water with the added protection.
