- janicet9890 contributionsThe absolute best timeWe had the best time on this trip. The crew was what made the difference. Jude, Todd and Ivy made us feel so welcome. They were so much fun, singing and dancing and knowledgeable of the area and wildlife. Snorkeling wasn’t bad but hanging at the sandbar and making new friends was what was worth it for us. I highly recommend this trip. And I must say they had the best song list of any boat I’ve been on, thanks Jude for that. Take this trip you’ll love it.Written September 30, 2024
- 545yessicac0 contributionsThe most beautiful sunset we've ever seen! This was a really nice time. Music was great. Snacks were decent. Drinks were ok. I just had the Chardonnay and hubby had the beer. The best thing I noticed though was that on of their competitors boats was overly PACKED with people! You could tell they were all uncomfortable and all standing. It didn't seem their was enough seating. We didn't have that issue at all. We could walk, stand or sit around freely the entire time and were very comfortable. Thank you for a great experience.Written September 28, 2024

- Journey95300 contributionsBest snorkeling ever!I highly recommend this trip!!! We went on the afternoon excursion and it was wonderful. Matt and Kelsey were great trip guides - so friendly and very informative. We went snorkeling on a reef and it was the best snorkeling trip we have ever taken - the water was clear and calm. We saw so many colorful fish and swam in the middle of schools of fish! We then went to a sandbar and had a fantastic time with more snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and visiting with the other people on the trip. We were served great food and endless drinks. On the trip back, we got to watch a gorgeous sunset AND the rise of a huge Harvest moon! I rate this trip 10/10 !!!Written September 20, 2024

I am rating this tour a one o my because I do not have the option to enter zero. Booked trip am Saturday on a Thursday with the information there was a possibility it could be canceled if not enough people booked. This was perfectly understandable and reasonable to us so we went through with the booking. On Friday evening we checked our email for any information on cancellation and we happy to see that there wasn’t any. We set our alarm (yes on vacation and still set an alarm to make sure we were up on time and at dock because it was a 30 minute walk to pier or $16 way over priced uber ride. We got up with the alarm and again checked phone and email there was nothing so we got on our way. We made made it to check in only to find out they were just trying to contact us to let us know it was canceled. Are you kidding me, where is the thought the customer service?!?! Oh sorry you wasted your time here’s a refund that will take 4 days to be processed. This is in acceptable and the only reason people are still using this service is because there really isn’t much of an option if you want to do this sort of trip.

Hi Coastal68506,
We appreciate you taking the time to review your experience with Fury and regret that you did not have a pleasant one.
We never, ever wish to cancel a trip and take the decision to do so quite heavily before calling it. We are still navigating a lot of new procedure in these new and uncertain times. With many restrictions placed on travel and with a second order of shutdowns in Florida this past week, we are doing our best to safely offer our trips with the hope we will have guest participation. If we do not have a certain number of guests, it is not feasible for our boats to go out, especially as we also attempt to minimize impact on our ecological environment.
Thousands of guests every year choose to come spend their day with us because we do offer an amazing, five- star all the way day on the water. We appreciate your patience as, along with many other local businesses, we try to navigate this new world! We hope you were able to reschedule for a later departure and that you did ultimately enjoy your day on the water with us!

We departed on time, after some practiced but lively instructions about how to act on the partly open deck boat. Fury has a range of boats. Ours was a half open floor plan ideal for viewing dolphins, with a ladder leading down to water for snorkeling, which comes in the second half of the trip. Some Fury Catermerans have rear steps leading into the water, which could have made for less crowded egress and ingress. Take it from my experience, it's probably not the best idea to be the first one off the boat into the snorkeling area. True, there is less scaring away of fish life by people at that point, but it's hard to clamber back aboard when you realize you should have taken the option to inflate your buoyancy vest before going into the water. I panicked a bit when realizing that breathing through one's nose is not an option with the face mask, even while above water, and it's hard to blow up a vest while panting. Standing on the bottom is possible but strongly discouraged as your oils will kill anything they touch. Bring wave walkers; they do not provide swim fins, no matter what the brochure shows.
We followed a dolphin pod - not a family, since males do not raise dolphin calves - for about 20 minutes. Great leaping! More please. Don't expect Seaworld shows. These are wild dolphins and they're working, not being handed fish from a bucket.
A party atmosphere pertained on the meander back, with "adult juice" served on request; you are not allowed to drink and snorkel. The hosts were great and the rentable wetsuits are recommended especially in the winter when water temps are around 68 degrees. The water was fine, it was chilly when I got out again.
One other thing: we had originally wanted to do the glass bottom tour, but were prevented by the weather, once, twice, then three times, before we took the alternate tour when our days were running out. Check for windy conditions before booking the glass bottom tour.

I want to start saying Thank you to Captain Jim, Jayme and Leah for their amazing customer service!
A day prior to this trip we had gone in a different tour which didn't go too well due to the lack of information and little to no customer service, therefore making our tour a sour experience, especially since I have 2 small children. I spoke to Manager Leah who was very sympathetic and apologetic about our negative experience and she made sure we didn't leave with a bad impression. She definitely took care of us with this Dolphin Watch and Snorkel Cruise.
Captain Jim went above and beyond for us. He was so nice, funny, personable and you can tell he enjoys what he does. Jayme was awesome, very attentive to anyone's need, she is also very knowledgeable and took time to answer all the questions my daughter had about the ocean.
The trip started with Captain Jim taking us to an area and we were able to spot so many dolphins! It was incredible and definitely a memorable experience. Then we went to another area to snorkel. This was that best snorkeling spot if you have little ones since there was no current and the waters were shallow, we saw crabs, lobsters and different types of fish, we even saw dolphins from afar!
Then just before sunset the boat was in a bad spot since there was an island in the way of the sunset, so Captain Jim went out of his way to move the boat so we could see the sun set into the water! We got beautiful photos! What an evening! It was just perfect!!
Definitely the tour and the quality of the service made this trip our highlight of our visit to Key West, for this reason this is a 5-star review!
It's all about taking care of the customers and making sure they are having a good experience, and that's what Captain Jim, Jayme and Leah did! Congrats!
Thank you again guys!!

03/11/20 we took a day trip with Captain Jim and Allison--3 hour snorkel, dolphin watch. It was a great day! Clean boat, beautiful water, very safe, and the staff was very entertaining. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to get out on the beautiful ocean water and Captian Jim was a great captain. It was myself and my 2 teen daughters. Everything went very well!! I'd definitely do this again.

Capt. Stevie and Rachel were great! Had a very diverse group on our trip and they just rolled with it all. Very friendly and informative. The weather didn't cooperate and it was very chilly with no sun. We all made the best of it and Capt and Rachel gave up there warm clothing to a few kids that were pretty cold. The water wasnt exactly warm but they have wetsuits available on board to rent for $10. That was great because it made the experience a bit more enjoyable. Would have been to cold without them. Saw a few dolphins before and after snorkeling and they do a great job of locating and working woth other boats to find them. Wasn't super impressed with the snorkeling but that's not the fault of the company. Just wasn't a lot to see. It was overall a fun experience and at least we can say we did it!

We booked the Key West Dolphin Watch and Snorkel Cruise tour not certain what to expect as it was our first visit to Key West. We were not disappointed, and it exceeded any, and all our expectations. I would recommend this excursion to other travelers without hesitation. Captain Willie and First Mate Alivia (sp?) were outstanding. Both were informative but also entertaining during the entire trip, which made for a very enjoyable time. They were also very accommodating to the novices to snorkeling amongst the passengers.
Captain Willie’s experience came through as we were able to view multiple dolphin pods, including one that had a newly born calf that was three to four weeks old. But the crew was also attentive to the dolphins and their space as well, not getting overly close, and paying attention of the dolphins’ reactions to the boat. We were also able to see a large sea turtle during the snorkeling time, who was within a few feet of people in the water, giving everyone quite a show. Alivia even got in the water and stayed to help ease some anxiety with the novice snorkelers.
We had booked a later in the afternoon trip, and the sunset on the way back was a beautiful way to end a relaxing, informative, and fun day on the water. I would highly recommend this to others.

I went on the dolphin watch tour with my wife and two kids (11 and 7) and it was one of the best days of our key west vacation! My kids love dolphins and all marine life and we were all so impressed that the captain and mate stressed the importance of respecting the dolphins and just observing them doing what they would naturally do. When left to their own devices, the dolphins actually put on quite a show! they were jumping out of the water, chasing bait fish, and they even swam up to the boat and we were able to get a close look at them. It was really special. The snorkeling was also incredible. The water was shallow which was great for my wife who isn't so confident in the water and we saw tons of different fish, sponges, corals, and lobsters. Captain Stevie was hilarious and first mate Olivia was very attentive and made us feel safe in the water and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the whole tour. After snorkeling she even served us unlimited mimosas! I would highly recommend this tour and make sure you ask for Stevie and Olivia! We will definitely be back!

Amazing excursion! Captain Steve and Colbie headed our sunset dolphin watch and snorkel tour. One of the best excursions I’ve enjoyed on vacation. They were very knowledgeable about local marine life and the waters they explore. This cruise is family friendly so bring the whole family!
The dolphins were breathtaking as we found a few males that were showing off for some females. Throughout the entire cruise we saw dolphins, no shortage of opportunities to take pictures.
The snorkel experience was great although I wish we had been able to go snorkeling earlier in the day for the best visibility with the sun directly above us but then we would have missed the greatest sunset I’ve ever witnessed.
While snorkeling, we saw so many barracuda and I believe I saw a huge tarpon that startled me as it swam directly below me like it didn’t have a care in the world but the absolute best was the manatee that swam in front of me, definitely the highlight!
Don’t bother bringing anything to drink as you are packing for this excursion.. they provide it all. Water, sodas and for the adults - variety of beers (Key Lime Lager was a hit), wine and mimosas to enjoy with that sunset.
Overall a wonderful experience that my family and I shared. Highly recommend this tour and whether you have 0 snorkel experience or are seasoned, plenty to see here in Key West!

While in Key West we were eager to book the Fury Dolphin & Snorkeling Cruise and booked for Tuesday 12:30pm. After checking in and waiting to board, it downpoured with thunder and the excursion was cancelled. We rebooked for the 5:30pm tour. The weather cleared and we saw many dolphins frolicking in what is known as "Dolphin's Playground" and learned a lot about the dolphins' innate abilities and how intelligent they are. We then travelled a distance to the snorkelling area where the water was only three feet deep (instead of 7-8 feet deep as the rep at check-in stated). The Captain informed us this is her least favorite snorkeling location of three spots and the fish were juvenille (small) which set the stage for disappointment. We put our lifevests on and were informed that regardless of swim status, we needed to use a noodle to keep ourselves buoyant because we were instructed to not stand nor touch the sea floor so we don't kick up sand or impact the juvenille environment. It was like snorkelling in a murky bathtub. We saw seagrass, sponges, coral and only a few very small fish. I saw one horseshoe crab that looked fossillized. It was difficult to clear mask and snorkel of water because you could not hold yourself straight up and needed to constantly lean forward to not touch floor. If they informed us at rebooking that the storm would impact going to good snorkelling locations, I would have booked a different day. I suggest this not be an area to take group to snorkel as it was not impressive at all. We had a better snorkelling experience at Fort Zachary Park for $8. The Captain and First Mate were informative and fun, although when first explaining the guidelines and expectations, she spoke facing one side of boat so the rest of us could not hear her. Beverages including beer, water, wine and soda are included. The 5:30pm tour includes the sunset hour so we got to see amazing views of the sun sinking into the sea. If it weren't for the snorkelling experience, I would have rated higher.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Dces4. The Dolphin Watch and Snorkel Tour always snorkels in the Gulf of Mexico or the backcountry which acts as a nursery to the larger coral reef in the Atlantic. The Gulf of Mexico is shallower, with a sandy bottom, sponge gardens, and small coral heads. Many days underwater visibility is 50+ feet and teeming with sea life; others are not. Though we hope that every day is perfect, occasionally wind, waves, clouds or rain will affect underwater sea life and visibility. We are happy to hear that you saw some juvenile fish, sea sponges and coral AND plenty of dolphins. I’m sure the post-storm sunset was amazing! Thank you for coming out with us and we hope to have you back out when the weather is calmer!

We’re coming from a carnival cruise ship, is this far from the port? And if so, is transportation to this excursion provided? (If not-are cabs abundant?)
Lastly, are there weight restrictions?
I’m a fluffy girl, can you guys accommodate plus size patrons?
Thanks so much!!

Hope not too.late, I was reviewing stuff in Placencia, Belize and saw this. Everything is pretty close to the cruise ship port. Taxis are abundant. Also pretty sure they have lyft & Uber in KW. Contact them directly they may do pickups.
