This is a great way to see the sights and everything going on below you in the water from the BEST perspective. Our water bikes are human-powered and is the best eco-friendly way to get around the area to see everything Crystal River has to offer. You can see manatees swim directly underneath your bike, which is an incredible view to experience. The water bikes easily hold up to 300 pounds and have adjustable seats for all different heights of riders.

- 469 NE 1st St, Crystal River, FL 34429, USA You arrive at Paddles Outdoor Rentals to register and sign the liability waiver. Then we take you in our passenger van to where the bikes will be waiting which is roughly 1/3 mile away from our shop. We then pick you up and bring you back when you are finished.

Our family of 4 had excellent time on the water bikes cruising around Crystal River. The entire staff at Paddles Outdoor Rentals were awesome (The Best!) as they ensured every need was taken care thus ensuring a safe and relaxing family adventure on Crystal River. The check in process was fast and efficient. The drive from the shop was less than 5 minutes and upon arrival we were met by two awesome ladies ensuring your needs were taken care. The ladies provide an overview on the use of the bikes and made the necessary adjustments to the bikes for each of us. In addition, they provided pointers on where to go and what to see. The bikes were comfortable and easy to use and offered and excellent viewing to see the manatees gliding through clear water, but more importantly a fun family bonding time.
We highly recommend everyone to book through Paddles Outdoor Rentals as they are top notch and show this through their excellent services, equipment and team members.
We will be back to enjoy another day on Crystal River using Paddles Outdoor Rentals.

Whether you are planning a trip to boat, scallop, fish, or see manatee, Crystal River is a gorgeous, quaint Florida town where outdoor adventures top the list of fun! You may have kayaked or paddle boarded in the past, but have you pedaled across the crystal clear waters of Crystal River on a water bike? I highly recommend a family-friendly adventure on a water bike with Crystal River Water Bike Rentals.
Whether you are looking to water bike on the beautiful waters of Crystal River, kayak, or paddle board, Paddles Outdoor Rentals has you covered. Their office is located right off Highway 19. With a quaint gift shop, restroom, and changing room, Paddles Outdoor Rentals and Crystal River Water Bike Rentals provides you with customer service from the moment you walk into the shop.
Book a tour ahead via their website but be sure to check their Facebook pages for summer specials. Hop aboard a lime green 6 person golf cart for the 5 minute drive from the office to Pete’s Pier Marina for a safety briefing and information on the best places to see manatee, where to view Hunter Springs, Three Sisters Springs, and Kings Bay Park before pedaling into the sunshine on your water bike adventure.
It was not difficult for myself, my husband, or my son to pedal the water bike. After a three hour tour, we were tired but not completely wiped out. There is no brake to stop, just start pedaling backwards to slow down and reduce your forward movement. Turn the handlebars to maneuver the bike. I can attest pedaling the water bike much easier than kayaking or paddle boarding.
We saw two mom manatee and two baby manatee. As you can see from the below picture, the height of the water bike allows you to see everything much better than if you were in a kayak. The crystal clear waters allow you to see fish, cormorants swimming along side of you, as well as the docile sea cow.
We swam in Three Sisters Springs. We brought our own snorkel gear and I highly recommend you do the same. The water is crystal clear and you can see fish and rocks. Kayaks and paddle boards can access Three Sisters Springs. Be careful as you swim. You will need to stand to the side of the springs at times to avoid being hit by paddle craft.
Are you looking for a unique, one of a kind, famil- friendly adventure in Crystal River, Florida? I highly recommend a water bike tour with Crystal River Water Bike Rentals/Paddles Outdoor Rentals. We took a three hour tour and it was the perfect amount of time to see everything, pedal quite a distance to Three Sisters Spring, swim, and return to the pier. I would recommend doing the three hour tour so you have time to see everything.

We had an absolute blast today with Crystal River Bikes cruising around enjoying the sunshine and seeing lots of manatees. The bikes were super easy to use and you can see so much more than being down low in a kayak. Staff was super friendly and the whole experience was great! We will be back!

PaddlesOutdoor is a well run company with friendly and efficient employees who make sure the customers have an awesome experience. We rented water bikes in the morning and swam with the manatees in the afternoon. Crystal River has many springs with clear water that Lacie, our outstanding tour guide showed us. She was able to locate one manatee and caught some underwater photos. The Gulf waters were cooler, so most manatees were not in the river. She also told us about the fish we saw.
When you rent a water bike, you are able to spot the manatees better with the higher viewpoint. I had the experience of a lifetime when a manatee came up to my water bike and actually pushed me with their snout. Priceless!
Christopher Brown is a hands on owner who wants to make sure his customers have a great experience.
I would highly recommend renting from PaddlesOutdoor.

We rented water bikes. What a fun way to see the manatee! The bikes are on pontoons so they are very stable. I was surprised at how easy they were to peddle. Now you don't go very fast, but it is very easy. Turning takes a very wide radius, but you'll figure it out! More manatees can be seen on cold days. The only thing that gets wet might be your toes, so you don't have to worry about needing to change clothes.

Our family of 3 had an awesome afternoon in King's Bay on the water bikes. It was our first time riding these very easy to operate water craft. It gives you a unique perspective being at a higher level than a kayak. They are super stable and virtually impossible to overturn. Everybody was very professional and made us feel welcome. We arrived at the shop, were checked in and within minutes were on our way to Pete's Pier in a golf cart. It's just a short 5 minute ride. At the pier we were greeted by another employee who adjusted the bikes to our bodies, gave us brief instructions and helped us launch into the bay. In the 2 hours renting, we were able to easily travel to Three Sisters and then back past Pete's Pier in the opposite direction for a while before returning to the dock. The sweet lady who was at the dock was super nice and even made a few photos for us on the bikes. I would highly recommend this to anyone considering kayaking. It is a faster way to get around and it's a lot easier on the back. If you like riding bikes you'll love this.

We had such a great time! I totally recommend this company and the water bikes . Lots of manatees to be seen. Pedal slow and consistently you'll glide across the water. No one fell in and you get a great view being up higher. So worth the great price.

First time renting the water bikes. They were so much fun! Very easy to pedal, and it moves about the same speed as a kayak, maybe a little faster. Very sturdy also. We enjoyed them much better than kayaking. It definitely caught the attention of others on the water, since you don’t see them a lot. I would highly recommend renting these. The employees were also exceptional and very easy to work with.

We had family down from Pennsylvania and we all loved this, it was hard on the butt but worth it. Taylor and Jessica were awesome young ladies and gave great tips on where to go to see the manatees as well as other information we asked for. We will be back for sure. Thanks again for a nice day.

We've rented Kayaks on a previous visit and now water bikes from Paddles Outdoor Rentals. The staff are very personable and easy to work with. They do a good job of getting each person through the process. Prices are fair and we enjoyed the whole experience.

HI! Planning a trip there next month. The whole trip is based on hanging out with the manatees...of course! Thinking about the water bike and wondering if that was a guided tour to get us introduced to the sea cows. Is that an option? If not, what is your next best suggestion? Both of us are okay with getting wet, too! We will be coming from Colorado. So, if the water temp is in the high 70's, it might feel like bath water temps! Thank you! Tim
