They were both very professional and focused on the educational side of learning as well as lighthearted to help ease my nerves throughout the stressful moments to me. - FarAway403990494830 contributionsAbsolute blast!Went with John S. to Devil's Den for a one of a kind dive. The location itself is unique with a staircase down into a cavern dive that feels like it's on a different planet. On top of the remarkable natural beauty of the trip, John was an absolute blast to dive with. Gave a great "tour" both above and below the water. And something that is often overlook I've found is the safety aspect but he made sure to cover all points and that was greatly appreciated. Especially for this still novice diver.Written September 12, 2024

- alejandrorN9866JQ0 contributionsBest Diving CenterI have no other words to describe the experience with American Pro Diving Center but Wonderful. I met them snorkeling with manatees, then I became Open Water certified and now I do recreational diving. The staff and instructors are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The facilities and equipment are ideal for the practice of these aquatic activities.Written July 29, 2024
- rogerandmarlene0 contributionsGlass bottom boat tour worth every penny. Good for all ages. Handicap accessible. We visited Silver Springs State Park and took the glass bottom boat tour. The boat tour was so worth taking! We had the best boat captain who made the trip even better with his knowledge and his "Dad" jokes. The river is awash with many different bird species, fish, and alligators. We did the shorter boat trip which was just fine. The Creek Trail, a 3/4-mile all-paved loop, near the boat queue entrance was just the right length and has the original "Seahunt" dock, which was pretty cool--a blast from our past. Recommend this park.Written June 5, 2024
- Guide605067232540 contributionsQuality service, great professionals, and fun dives thanks to Austin!!This is my second trip to Rainbow River for a drift dive and both were with American Pro Diving Center. They have boat captains and dive masters who know this dive and the river really well. They set me up each time for a fun drift dive. As dive shops go, they can do instruction to any level, have their own boats, and an on-site indoor private swimming pool. Today’s dive was awesome. Austin did an amazing job as Captain supporting everyone on the dive. They are the shop I call when I want to dive Crystal River!Written June 1, 2024

- dmc11110 contributionsGreat day for being on the water and swimming with the manateesWater clarity was murky and a little difficult to see the manatees. We did get to see an and swim with a mother and its calf , and another manatee. We saw dolphins and turtles. The staff was very knowledgeable. It was a great day , with great weather!Written April 19, 2024
- filthyt20210 contributionsBait and Switch, Deception.Called ahead for price for tank visual and air fill. Told $15 for both. Arrive, get visual and air, then charge $24. When I explained that's not what I was told on phone attendant says that's with the air. I told her over phone I was told $15 with air included, but it is what it is. I suggest people go a couple miles down road to Bird's Underwater Dive Center. In 24 years of diving, I've never had Bird's mislead me on pricing.Written April 7, 2024

My daughter and I booked this tour to snorkel with manatees. We did NOT get to snorkel with any manatee! Our guide said the weather has been warm so the manatees left the warm water. If this is the case, why take people out to snorkel with manatees. Call the tour In Search of Manatees instead. We got to swim in the murky water for 15 minutes after sitting on the boat with 16 other passengers for over 2 hours. I feel this tour was all about taking everyone's money then providing what we paid for. Also, they don't give you your money back or option to come again when you possibly can actually Snorkel with Manatee. I will say the staff was nice but that's the only positive thing.

It was a very cool experience, but I have to say that I felt the captain of the boat was more interested in taking film to sell copies of the video to those that went on the tour rather than actually providing customer service to those trying to see the manatees. We went to two different places and my daughter did not see any manatees. The captain that was leading went in to the water and did not wait for any of us to get into the water so that we could see the manatees. I noticed other tour companies where the captains were sticking with the participants and informing them better where to go. We did finally see manatees at the last place (3 Sisters) which I feel we should have went first, but we only saw them because I followed another tour guide.

I am giving 1 star for the manatee tour. I just want to make people aware that after the recent hurricane the water visibility is really bad and if you go on a day when it hasn't been cold your chance of seeing a manatee is almost zero. There were dozens of boats and tourists on top of one poor manatee. We all know it is nature but the company should cancel the trip in advance in these conditions to avoid the problem. So I would HIGHLY recommend to call them in advance and ask them to be honest to avoid paying and not seeing anything.

It was in the low 50’s when we arrived for the 11:30 am snorkel on Sunday with the manatees. Not sure if our group was going to do more than just ride on the boat. John and Bruce’s guidance and eagerness to give us a memorable day made it all happen. The water was warm as promised. What an experience to be floating inches above a momma and baby manatee as they swam by underneath. This happened several times during our hour in the water. When we shed our wet suits, the hot chocolate on the boat warmed us up on the inside. Would highly recommend choosing this tour with American Pro Diving.

We had a great time on both the crystal river manatee snorkel and the rainbow river dive. Cpt/DM John was a great guide. He gave us lots of information about both areas and did a great job describing all the things we should look for on the dive. He made sure the whole group was able to see the manatees as well. I would definitely recommend these activities with this shop!

This was such a great experience. The team at American Pro Diving Center were the absolute best! We had Captain Jerry and Captain John take us out to search for manatees. Captain Jerry did a great job handling the boat and trying to put us in the best spots to find manatees. Once we found one, Captain John was phenomenal in the water, guiding us through the wonderful experience. With wet suit on, the 72 degree temps were comfortable. Floating along with the manatee was a wonderful experience. Water was crystal clear, underwater pictures and video turned out great. As we wrapped up our day, Captain John also gave us some great recommendations for lunch in the area. Great staff, great experience. We will definitely be back.

Our group of approximately 70 middle schoolers and chaperones spent about an hour listening to a very informational presentation on manatees and then snorkeled with the manatees the next morning. We all had a wonderful time. The staff was professional, kind, and knowledgeable and they made sure we all had one-on-one interaction with manatees. The gear was very clean which was especially important. Overall, an A+ experience. I can’t wait to go back!

American Pro Diving Center gave the Scouts of Troop 291 , the experience of a lifetime. The crew were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! The process from beginning to end was seamless and well organized! The crew went above and beyond to locate manatee and got our scouts into the water and within a few feet of the manatees! If you ever dreamt of swimming among these gentle giants….. go with American Pro Diving Center. You wont regret it!!!!!

American Pro was recommended by our hotel, the Hampton Crystal River. We had a great time with Captain John, and the staff at the dive center was extremely helpful and friendly. We had a Groupon for the snorkel tour, and John and his 1st mate were very patient with our questions.
We watched a brief video about the manatee encounter first, then were provided with wetsuits and snorkels. The 5 minute boat ride to the lagoon was beautiful and John gave us instructions and a pool noodle to help stay afloat.
In February, the water was 72 degrees and so was the air temp, but seeing the manatees made us forget the temps - they are adorable and huge! The water was a little murky but we still saw several manatees who came close to us. It was very exciting.
Back at the dive shop, there is a huge selection of manatee themed items, great souvenirs! We will definitely be back - thank you to the staff!

The review is simple, the staff is UNPROFESSIONAL, the captain and mate were at each other's throats. No one knew where to go or what to do. No manatee sighting yet plenty of excuses. Dangerous equipment and insufficient staff to monitor to over packed boat. We circled in a boat packed lime sardines for 3 hours in wetsuits that were hot only to be told that we don't get to see a Manatee...better luck next time. No refunds either...WAIT WHAT? Now I am all for experiences but of you can't deliver what you advertise then stop advertising. Reviewing this center and the activity we paid for is a real eye opener to how dishonest a business can be for profit. Very unhappy.

Hello,
My children (7y and 10yrs) and I are visiting the Orlando area from Feb 5th - 8th and I would like to book a tour with the company. I just want to inquire about prices for kids or if they are all one price? Is there a better time to see the manatees early morning or the mid-day tour? Also, if there are recommandations for directions as I am renting a car and will need to drive.
