    St. Mary's Glacier
    Stop: 10 minutes
Saint Mary's Glacier is a pristine, semi-permanent mountain snowfield perched above St. Mary's lake in Arapaho National Forest near Yankee Hill Road. Often described as the best of Clear Creek County Jeeping, Yankee Hill Road is a classic traverse of mining roads and Jeep trails that feature steep climbs, big rocks, washed out crossings, and downright challenging obstacles. A maze of trails that can be explored from various start points, Yankee Hill Road is a Colorado jewel. Please note: we offer a variety of trails and this attraction is located on only of the trails. Trails are decided upon together with the client based on weather conditions on the day of the excursion and based on the difficulty level the client would like to select. Excellent and exciting tour! I learned so much about technique and the functionality of the 2020 Rubicon. The tour operators are both knowledgeable and very capable. Their professionalism inspires confidence for even the most inexperienced driver. Best of all Branden and Alma are instructive, communicative and committed to creating a fantastic day of adventure. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring the stunningly beautiful trails in and around Clear Creek County. When all other hiking trails, parks and tours were very crowded, we encountered only two other vehicles on the trail during a very busy tourist season. A fantastic and memorable day we will never forget!! Thank you Branden and Alma!!

This was the best experience I have had on any trip by far. The guides were not only knowledgeable on four wheeling but they also knew the historical information about the local mines which was very cool. My eleven year old and I loved the experience. The Jeep handled amazing and the historical information given on the ride helped to keep nerves calm as we traversed some moderate terrain. We will be back! Jeep should sponsor this crew.

The sunset tour was the final adventure of our vacation and was a great way to cap it. Our guide was in the lead jeep, telling us local stories and history over a radio while we followed him 4000 feet up in elevation. My wife and 3 daughters all took a turn driving the custom jeep up and then down the mountain. Crazy, wild, yet safe and fun. A great experience!

I’ll admit I was nervous about this activity. We have no experience and I am a little afraid of heights (mainly being on the edge of a mountain with a steep drop). I had no need to be concerned because this was AWESOME!!

We are a family of four (2 teens) and my husband has never driven a Jeep. Brandon gave amazing instructions which led us up the mountain to Bill Moore Lake (elevation 11,340). He was in front and led the way! I don’t know anything about jeeps, but this one was decked out with all the bells and whistles for exploring the backroads. It was clean and provided a nice ride! We had so much fun climbing up rugged roads and whizzing thru the trees! We had walkie talkies and Brandon provided us a ton of information along the way....from teaching us about mining in the area (he used to be a miner), the animals in the mountains (we didn’t see any), to the history of the cities we drove thru). He and Alma were amazing!

And the VIEWS!! It was so beautiful! We did have a little haze due to the nearby wild fires but it was still absolutely gorgeous! Bill Moore Lake is picturesque!

I can’t give this tour enough stars. Don’t be concerned....just book it! It’s sooooo fun! And we all need some fun after the year we have had! 😄

This is a MUST DO for everyone! We took our 3 and 7 year old, and they had a blast too! It was truly the highlight of our trip. We went in late September, and there were stops to take pictures of the beautiful fall colors. Brandon and Alma provided excellent handling instructions for the Jeep. We had never driven a Jeep and due to their guidance, we had no trouble navigating the moderate terrain. Through walkie talkies, Brandon and Alma provide hilarious anecdotes and interesting historical facts about nature, mines/mining, jeeps, and Colorado in general along the way. It just FANTASTIC. The experience is dog friendly too!

This tour was the highlight of the trip to Denver area. It started with the service before we even got there. Had many questions and Brandon called back ASAP same day (after his sunset tour came in). Addressed everything and made me super comfortable in booking the trip.

Once we got there, Brandon worked with us to understand what we were looking for and gauged our driving experience (modest) to include a great mix of fun trails, navigating through tight spaces, and putting the Jeep through its paces in a safe, environmentally respectful way.

The Jeep was in excellent condition, clean, and a blast to drive with Brandon communicating with us via walkie talkie at all times. In tougher areas he spotted us so we always felt in control.

During the ride we also got to learn about the history of mining in the area (some still going on) as well as scenic sights and general information. The town of Idaho Springs is also quaint with plenty of shops, restaurants, and pubs to keep one busy for several hours.

In summary, a great operation and unique experience!

We started out in Idaho Springs and made it up to 12,000 feet. Absolutely a bucket list must. The jeep handling instructions along the way made the experience even better. We’ll be back!!!

Wow. crazy fun! We always wanted to go on a jeep tour and we picked this tour because we liked that we could actually drive the jeep ourselves with a guide in his own jeep talking to us via walkie talkie. We drove a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon that was super clean. We learned all the techniques to get the jeep ready for our adventure, like deflating the tires, went over all the different gear shifts and safety. Once we hit the trail it was so beautiful the views were amazing. We went over big rocks, water and steep trails. Braden was our guide and he was amazing. Loved that he also talked about the mining history of the area. It was one of the best thrill rides ever. We will definitely go back again.

Our family of 4 did the Sunset Tour. We had an absolute blast. Brandon was very knowledgeable about the area, the mountainside and made the tour very interesting. This should be on everyones bucket list. We highly recommend Native Jeeps. Thank you Brandon for an awesome adventure. We will meet Alma on the next trip.

WOW.. what an experience. This was a last minute family decision and we contacted Native Jeep via their website around 11 am. Within minutes we had a response and were texting with Brandon booking the tour for 2pm. We met in Idaho Springs. Brandon introduced himself and offered a couple different options based on who would be driving. We had teenaged kids with us that could drive and we wanted them to have the driving experience. Brandon had his own jeep and our family was in a separate one following. We communicated through walkie talkies with Brandon. The beginning of the tour was more technical for my husband and then Brandon guided both children through terrain. He was an amazing coach! We took breaks for pictures as the views were awesome. Brandon is so knowledgable of the history of the area and the mining activities dating way back. Not only did we have a blast we learned a ton. I highly recommend this jeep tour!
