The Royal Gorge is one of the most thrilling and exciting whitewater rafting trips on the Arkansas River. Enjoy the beauty and thrill of God’s creation as you experience 1,000 foot high canyon walls, confront exciting Class III-V rapids, and see the famous Royal Gorge Bridge. Full-day trips start with Bighorn Canyon (class III-IV), break for a delicious riverside lunch, then drop into the Royal Gorge (class IV-V). Journey Quest is a non-profit Christ-centered rafting ministry, and these trip are uplifting, family-friendly adventures. The Royal Gorge is a serious section of river. Previous class III or higher paddling experience and strong swimming ability are recommended for all guests. For the safety of our guests and guides, we cannot take guests who are over 250lbs or individuals with a history of heart or serious medical problems. - Journey Quest - Royal Gorge Office, 559 County Rd 3A Unit #B, 559 Co Rd 3A, Cañon City, CO 81212, USA From Colorado Springs, take I-25 to exit 140, and follow Hwy 115 South to Hwy 50. Turn right (west) on Hwy 50 and travel West through Canon City. From Canon City continue 8 miles West on Hwy 50, and turn left on County Rd 3A (Signs for Royal Gorge Park & Bridge). Journey Quest is approx 1/4 mile on the right in front of the Royal Gorge KOA. Plan on just over an hour from Downtown Colorado Springs.

Journey Quest is a smaller company so they are the best go to go with as opposed to the large scale companies that take massive amounts of boats down the river every day. With a small company we stopped to swim and cliff jump which the bigger companies didn't have time for. Great company I would highly recommend.

There are dozens of rafting companies to choose from on the Arkansas River, but I'd highly recommend choosing Journey Quest for a more personal river experience. Our guide was a professional in every sense of the word. He shared many stories of his experiences as a guide and history of the river, and he really customized the river experience for our family which you might not get with one of the larger companies.
The large rafting companies proved a consistent experience for the masses, but Journey Quest does a great job connecting with their clients on a personal level. All of their staff was helpful and kind. I've rafted with several companies in the past, but I'm sure to return Journey Quest.

Journey Quest provided a great rafting experience. All of the guides and office personnel were so friendly. I think it was more of a personal experience (and less expensive) than you get with some of the "bigger" rafting companies in the area. Would do another trip with them without hesitation. The Christian aspect is low key and not preachy, so don't let that scare you off.

Every step of this trip was top notch! From the check-in and instructions to the actual raft trip, my family and I were treated extremely well and we had an absolute blast! Our guide, Mark, gave us very detailed safety guidelines and took every precaution to make sure we had all of our safety gear ready to go and that we understood techniques and tips on rafting and what to do in the case of unforeseen circumstances. Mark did an excellent job of navigating our trip and giving us clear directions while we were rowing so that we were able to enjoy the class 4-5 rapids as first time rafters. Journey Quest also provided us with some spectacular photos of our trip. Lunch was delicious too!

Actually we did three days of rafting on the Arkansas, culminating with the Royal Gorge experience. The water level was still high enough that the river was running at 2000 - 2400 cfs, so we had a few class 4 rapids.
Our guide Mark Anderson was truly an expert who trained us, kept us safe, and inspired us on this unforgettable adventure. He shared interesting and factual information relative to historical events that had taken place along the river. He also prepared delicious meals for all three days, and his colleague Daniel set up tents and prepared our campsites along the way. We were provided with helmets and wetsuits, and
In addition to being an amazing and inspirational wilderness guide and outfitter, Mark is a man of strong Christian faith. He prayed with us, and shared the origin of Journey Quest along with his personal witness. We read and discussed excerpts from the Bible and prayed together both on and off the river.
I wish there were more than five stars in this review. I won’t forget the experience! Fun, thrilling, educational, and inspirational at so many levels. I urge everyone to ride the river with Journey Quest!
NOTE: In selecting “who was with us” in the review, there was not an option for Family (adults) so I selected Family (teens). It was my adult grandson, his dad, and his other granddad.

This was our 2nd time we went with this company. I would not use any other company. All the employees are so nice & helpful. This year we had Conner as our river guide he kept us entertained & explained things to us . Our ages went form 8 almost 9 - 66. There was 7 of us . Picture wet suits& jackets all included in the price

The entire experience was amazing from a quick and easy check in, to equipment fitting, safety talk, to the actual rafting. We did the half day kayaking trip with Chris and then the next day we did the full day Royal Gorge rafting trip with Emmaline. Both are phenomenal guides and just great people to get to know and hang out with as well. After, we were able to see and purchase about 50 pictures of us for each day, which was really cool. I would highly recommend Journey Quest. I chose them over the larger commercial rafting companies because they allow less people in the rafts and are definitely more personalized. The next time we will be in the area (hopefully next year) I will be booking another trip with them.

We completed a full day rafting trip. I can't say enough about the trip. If you are looking for a smaller, more intimate experience, this is the company for you. for those of you with minimal experience rafting, you can do this! I had some reservations going into it, however those were relieved once we were moving along the water. While enjoying the views and the exhilaration of "running" the rapids, i always felt safe. Mark, our guide, gave us excellent instruction is safety measures and coached us along the way.

We absolutely loved our full day on the River with Journey Quest!! My first rafting experience, my husbands 3rd. Mark, the owner and our guide was exceptional! Professional, personable, knowledgeable and could be somewhat funny at times. We also met his wife Sara and the whole staff. All were very kind and helpful. We started the day with a group prayer on the boat and from there it was nothing but an awesome experience, both challenging and fun!! The Royal Gorge was absolutely stunning and full of history! My husband and I are retired from the Navy, we’ve been around the world and done a lot! I can honestly say this was one of the BEST adventures we’ve ever had! We highly recommend Journey Quest & already discussing what our next adventure with them will be! Thank you Mark, Sara & the whole team! P.S. the pictures that were taken along the River are outstanding! That was a nice surprise to have this rememberable moment captured so well! God bless you and may He continue to bless Journey Quest.

We have went on many raft trips with our family and this one surpassed them all! I would recommend Journey Quest to everyone! Their guides' training is the best around! All their guides and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. You have many options for your family to take on the river...from a nice family float for all ages to a very challenging trip through the Royal Gorge for older teens! You will not be disappointed! I love that is a Christian company that prays before you take your exciting journey on the river also. The prices are amazing also! I would highly recommend this company to everyone! We went on the full day trip through the Royal Gorge with four teenagers with lunch in the middle and everyone had an amazing time!
