About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Lisa P0 contributionsWine O’Clock with good vibes! My sister and I had an incredible experience. Vicki was our guide for the day and we had her all to ourselves. What a gem. She was very knowledgeable about the area, the wineries, and the people who own them. It felt very personal and inclusive. The wineries themselves were awesome! Each one offering something different. We never felt rushed. Vicki checked in on us and had a laugh. Dave, the owner, brought us lunch personally and it was delicious. The entire day was wonderful. I highly recommend this small business to anyone wishing to do a wine tour from San Diego. It’s worth it. We had a blast.Written August 17, 2024
- chrisjanda0 contributionsGreat experience! This was a terrific experience! There were 6 of us on the tour, our first time wine tasting in Temecula. We visited 3 wineries and all were great. Very different from each other, but all excellent in their own way. From setting up the tour with Tina to our driver Dave, they all exceeded our expectations. Very well organized and communicative. Highly recommend!Written May 11, 2024
- sportsfan_100 contributionsThe best way to enjoy!!Initially planned to do this, expecting it to be a group tour. Ended up being a private tour, and was most definitely worth it! Tour guide/driver was Vicki; and she was the best. Had door to door service on pick up and drop off. Vicki was great at getting to know her guests and sharing info on her. Her insight into the wineries was fantastic. The lunch was really good. Time spent in Old Temecula was added bonus. The time spent at the wineries was good; offering 6 tastings per. I have to say, this tour has spoiled me, and not sure I could ever do a tour that would be anywhere near this fantastic.Written May 5, 2024
- Drake S0 contributionsApril 12th TripAmazing trip. Weather didn’t cooperate but Vicki made the trip amazing. Great wine and great fun! Highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to try some wines out of your comfort zone.Written April 15, 2024

- V5956SZdaniellea0 contributionsWonderful! Would 100% Recommend! This was a wonderful tour and 100% worth the price! The wineries they pick are great, the guide was wonderful, and the lunch was delicious. Would 100% recommend! Also appreciated that everyone was extremely responsive leading up to the tour as well which made planning much easier!Written February 19, 2024
- JulieJ5410 contributionsFantastic and fillingI traveled with 2 friends. This trip was super easy to arrange on Tripadvisor. The trip vendor had some communication with me by email via Tripadvisor. I do wish they could have texted so I would have responded sooner. Our trip ended up being private due to nobody else booking that day. Transportation from San Diego was in new Mercedes van. The driver that day happened to be company owner. I feel like we got the very best service. All three wineries were different and all had some wines I enjoyed. Each winery provided 6 pours of one ounce each. So 18 ounces in total. Some offered more pours if you didn’t enjoy one of your selections. The lunch was fantastic and very filling. I really enjoyed the trip and feel like we got all we paid for. We did go on a Friday afternoon so overall business at the wineries was low so we got a lot of excellent service.Written November 1, 2023

- heatherfI5306VO0 contributionsAbsolutely excellent experience all around!!Vicki and Janet were absolutely amazing and the whole trip was fantastic. Thank you so much! Can’t recommend enough - lunch was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Each winery was beautiful and everything was taken care of for us. Also way cheaper than most other CAR ONLY services from San Diego to Temecula.Written May 20, 2023
- stresaapt0 contributionsFun day at beautiful wineries in Temecula! Not knowing anything in advance about this wine region, we were so pleasantly surprised by the area, the wineries, and the wines! We took the tour from San Diego and were picked up and dropped off directly at our hotel. The Temecula region is beautiful, with wineries lining winding country roads. Our tour consisted of three wineries; in each knowledgeable servers took us through a flight of their wines. It happened to be a very rainy day on the day we booked, but we think it was the perfect activity for a rainy day! Thanks for a great day!Written March 22, 2023
- onebzgal0 contributionsWhat a wonderful wine tasting tour!We hired Destination Temecula for a private wine tasting tour for our daughter's 21st birthday. Our driver, Vicky, was on time and very friendly and accommodating. She picked us up from our home in San Diego and drove us up to Temecula. Dave met us at our first winery to introduce himself and got us acquainted with the winery. At our second winery Dave met us there with our boxed lunches from a local restaurant. The lunches were fabulous and very filling. We went to 3 wineries in total, Somerset, Frangipani and Falkner. Our group was new to wine tasting and we all felt like the wineries chosen for us were just perfect. It was a wonderful experience and we created many special memories to cherish. Thank you, Destination Temecula, for helping us to celebrate our daughter's birthday! Vicky- you were wonderful! We look forward to touring with you again soon!Written January 1, 2023
- 927amitap0 contributionsWine TourDave at Destination Temecula was such a incredible host from start to end. He explained everything very thoroughly & the service we received was outstanding. The drivers of the bus, Troy and Vicki were super nice and very accommodating. We went to two wineries, Wilson Creek & Callaway. Wilson Creek was the best for their services. Callaway not as accommodating as we had thought. If you want to plan a tour, Dave at Destination Temecula is your guy. He will really take care of you!Written November 8, 2022
- J8393CLmelanieg0 contributionsWine Tasting Tour in TemuculaThis weekend my husband and I were visiting San Diego for a conference and wanted to go to a vineyard. Last minute we called Destination Temecula on a recommendation from the hotel and not only were they super responsive, they delivered impeccable service. We did a private tour and it was about 1.5 hours away. They arranged to have us picked up from the hotel, planned our lunch, did the tour and brought us back to san diego. we were out for about 6- 7 hours. They allowed us to choose our times. Our car was upgraded from a luxury sedan to a newer model SUV escalade. the driver William was amazing, funny, attentive and not only provided history of the California, san diego, the terrains and the wine country along the way , he made the drive so by so fast and was on time, always in constant communication with us during the tour and we always felt like we were in good hands with him. He offered us water and other amenities to ensure our comfort. The owner Dave was present as well, we were definitely treated like VIP, he met us at each stop, got us set up for the wine tasting the tours, and took pictures for us and provided water as well. He made sure our lunch was served and Lunch was not only amazing but we had a view of the mountains the vineyards and we were the ONLY people on the patio, talk about the perfect date. This trip was absolutely amazing , the costumer service, the vineyards, the ride, I have nothing negative to say. If you are ever visiting San Diego, LA, or surrounding area i highly recommend Dave Destination Temecula and William. Thanks again for putting together an amazing trip with only a few hours notice!Written September 26, 2022

I cant think of any other word to describe our experience other than PERFECT! starting with the driver, to dave our tour guide, and then the staff at these fine winery's and the restaurant. From the start of the pick up to our drop off at the end it was beyond our exceptions. We cant wait to come back!

My boyfriend and I went to Temecula on a Saturday morning, booked a hotel for that night. Parked at the hotel and took off on our bikes on a all day self guided tour of the Temecula wineries. It's a good 16 mile return route on bike, so be prepared. We had so much fun! there are 32 wineries to choose from. We did our homework and found the top 6 we wanted to go to on the route (we Love red wines). The Owners of the wineries were very helpful and nice to us, answered all of our questions. there are 6 1oz tastings from approx $10-$20 at each winery and that comes with a free glass...There are tours you can purchase, but we wanted to be on our own time and not worry about driving. Don't forget to bring backpacks to store the wine you purchase and bring lots of water to drink. We plan on going back in November when our favourite winerey(Foote path) is bottling their estate wines.

We recently visited Temecula over the President's Day and Valentine's Day weekend. Wondering what in the world we'd do in Temecula, I planned a wine tasting trip for my honey and me. I researched touring on our own, then stumbled across Destination Temecula (after looking at a few other tour company's websites). I'm so glad that I did! The company was very professional from the get-go. We were the first to book Sunday's tour, but that didn't seem to be a concern for Dave, our guide (and possibly the owner?). Dave was incredibly flexible and accommodating in setting up the plans. He offered to pick us up at our hotel, although we didn't arrive in time for that and ended up meeting the tour in Old Town Temecula.
Our first stop was Frangipani Vineyard, a boutique winery. But first, let me mention that Dave's narration during our drive to the area was wonderful and informative, as well as lively and fun. He has a natural way of breaking the ice between the other groups on the tour which made the trip so much more enjoyable. Back to Frangipani - it was beautiful. The wines were delicious and we enjoyed a catered lunch (provided by Destination Temecula) on the deck in the warm sunshine.
The next stop was the much larger, more commercial Wilson Creek. This winery is a destination in itself! The place was packed, but fun, and we easily found a place at one of the tasting bars. The bartenders we had were phenomenal! The almond champagne is what Wilson Creek is known for, and although it was amazing, we enjoyed everything we tried there.
Our final winery was Lorimar. What a wonderful ending to the perfect day! The pours were much smaller that at the party that was Wilson Creek, but to be honest, the small pours were welcomed by that point! We grabbed our final glasses and went outside to enjoy the ever present spring-like weather that is Southern California and happily listened to the live music while watching the sunset over wine country.
Dave perfectly planned this day and I couldn't have asked for a more romantic, yet fun, Valentine's experience with my man. Thank you to Destination Temecula!

If you are expecting to learn about wine making, or the vineyards, or grape type then this is not the tour for you.
This is just a glorified taxi service which will pick you up and drop you off at the vineyards.
Most vineyard tastings are around $15 dollars per person for 5-6 servings. So if you are in a group of people or even just 2, you can book a taxi or an Uber for this trip for half the price.

Your feedback is noted and appreciated. We apologize for a day where what we delivered fell short of your expectations. Internal communication issues with the hotel further compounded the frustrations you experienced.
The Saturday and Sunday of three-day holiday weekends are typically the busiest days of the year at the wineries.
Even on these overwhelmingly busy days, we strive to create a more personalized, elevated visit for our guests through our tour narrative, the scenic wine country route we follow, the engagement we foster amongst and between our tour guests and with our guide throughout the day, and our overall customer service, specifically with lunch service we provide.
Granted, the winery tasting room traffic on these busy holiday periods can be overwhelming and too crowded for some, as it was for you, impacting their enjoyment of the day. We do have others, conversely, who join us on these busy days and absolutely love the people watching opportunities.
A full refund has been issued, based upon your disappointment.
On a side note, your concerns have spurred us to complete the details of a product we plan to introduce, offered to enthusiasts on the TripAdvisor/Viator travel platform that can still deliver exclusive, personal experiences at select wineries even on the busiest of days.
Thank you again for taking the time to convey your perceptions of the experience.

We booked the tour last month and were advised there might not be enough people signed up for the day we wanted to go.
We received a call from Dave who said they would be able to give us the tour after all. From the time they picked us up to the drop off later that day the team of Dave, Frank, and Janet did a fantastic job. From the tour of Old town Temecula to the great lunch sandwich and salad to the extra side trip to show us the alpaca farm, it was the best wine tour you could ask for. We've already told our friends to be sure to book their own trips.

Simply PERFECT from A to Z.
Destination Temecula provided the perfect curated experience for our team of 15 people. Every single person who participated had a good time, even those who didn't drink wine at all!
Mitchelle helped me plan everything around my team's needs from places to visit to transportation and lunch and dinner. She even gave us recommendations for hotels according to our budget. She was extremely responsive and nice.
The day of the event went very smoothly, I didn't have to worry about anything, we were picked up by a super nice bus, with pretty luxurious, comfortable leather seats, and the timing was great. Exactly the perfect amount of time in each place (3 in total). Since it was a team building, we played bocce ball, and we had a team building activity where we made our own wine and marketed it to each other. The whole time was great, and I love that it's still a mom-and-pop shop with Dave who was passionate about guiding us in Temecula. He knew everything about Temecula and the wineries.
Also, they offered for us to do other activities like escape games, olive oil tasting, or chocolatier but we preferred to stay with vineyards.
No other word than it was AWESOME!

We were a large group that decided last minute to try and have a wine tour coordinated for us...originally we were going to attempt to arrange our own! We were fortunate enough to come across Destination Temecula! While we had set up our own transportation, they coordinated the rest for us. While we didn't have them do a guided tour, they built the itinerary, set up our tastings and then met us for a provided lunch! They could not have been more accommodating and truly saved the day!! I would recommend their team to anyone looking for a day of fun in the Temecula area!

We chose Destination Temecula for a work team building event. It was a pleasure working with Dave from the start. He catered our trip to fit the needs of our group. We checked out a couple of competing companies but Destination Temecula had the total package we were looking for. Rui, our driver was very sweet and accommodating. The bus we took was very nice and clean. Our tour guide, LaRoy was extremely knowledgeable when it came to anything wine or Temecula. He was a great addition to the trip! As a company we would definitely recommend working with Destination Temecula. It’s a relief to find a company so accommodating, we are so glad we chose Destination Temecula! Coming from an extremely diverse group, it’s hard to please everyone and they did just that. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Dave assisted me with organizing a wine tasting tour for 40 people, stopping at 3 wineries, shopping in Old Town Temecula and a delicious gourmet lunch. I’ve received raving reviews about the host, LeRoy, his interaction with the entire group was entertaining and informative. They had a unique private tasting at Wilson Creek Winery from the barrel room with international cheeses and smoked salmon. I highlight recommend this tour for any size group with Dave and LeRoy as your guide.

It was our first time visiting the west coast, and we wanted to go wine tasting. We had researched another wine tour at first, but when we asked our hotel concierge about it, he recommended we go to Temecula instead and suggested Destination Temecula. We trusted him and booked the trip, and we were sure glad we did!
Dave was our tour guide, and picked us up right in front of our hotel. We took the tour with five other couples, which definitely added to the fun, because it was a good mix of people. Dave did a great job keeping us entertained with some history and information about southern California and the Temecula Valley, which made the ride out there much more enjoyable. Our first stop was Old Town, Temecula, which was a nice experience. It had charml and there was quite a bit to see. I would say that our favorite part of that experience was the olive oil tasting at Temecula Hills Winery At Villa. It was a new experience for the both us, and Mike the owner did a great job explaining how to combine the different types of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. We never knew there were so many flavors of olive oil before that experience.
Once we finished up in Old Town, we headed off to our wine tasting. We visited three wineries... Frangipani Estate Winery, Wilson Creek Winery and Churon Winery... and all three were great in their own unique way. There were a lot of opportunities for beautiful scenic photos at all three places, and all the wine we tried was great! We were provided lunch at our first location, and it went great with the wine we were having. Each location included 5 tastings from the provided tasting menu. There was a lot of variety to appeal to all different tastes, which was good. When we were done, the group asked to go to one more place, and Dave was happy to oblige. The only condition was that we would be responsible for paying for our own tastings at the last stop, which the group was more than fine with. Our final tasting ended up being at Miramonte Winery, and was a great end to our tour.
Overall, it was a great experience for us! We had an amazing time and Dave went above and beyond to make sure everyone in the group had a good time. We already said that if we ever make it out to southern California again, we plan on going wine tasting with them. If you ever make it out to southern California and are looking to go wine tasting, we would definitely recommend Destination Temecula without hesitation!
