      Amazing Experience do it
All of the experience at the Covered Wagon Tour was excellent. Our club selected Covered Wagon Tours as our first event of the season. From our first meeting with Bill, Tom and the rest of the staff to the event they were personable, professional, willing to work with us and our many requests. We held our event during a full moon (the view of the Moon rising over the mountains was amzaing Once you arrive they all welcome you, there is an amazing view of the little San Bernadino mountain and Oasis. They made the whole experience memerable and way fun. From the music (people were line dancing) Roper (the roper, gun slinger gave lessons) Native American chanter who led us into a Unity dance. Covered Wagon tour with an experienced naturalist into the desert and Oasis Before the amazing and delious barbecue, there was a charcuterie with delious meats and cheeses (they even accommdated our vegetarian members) And a wonderful homemade pie And as your watching the moon rise, there is a firepit that you roast marshmallows. Everyone who attended is still talking about the Covered Wagon Tours

      Great family experience
We’ve been coming to the desert for a long time and always looking for something different to entertain the whole family. We FOUND it. What a great experience. We were greeted and welcomed as soon as we got out of the car. They have a nice venue that would be great for large events. We were entertained with a western rope trick and gun slinging show while we waited for the covered wagon to come back to get us. They had a musician playing the guitar and banjo to entertain everyone as well. Once the wagon returned they loaded us up and off we went. We were told it’s BYOB if we would like and we did. It added to the experience. We took a ride through the desert in to an an oasis area where we could walk around and pet the mules if desired. There is a guide aboard that gives you some education on the area, environment, animals etc…. Once we returned to the starting point they had games and entertainment and then fed us a pretty good BBQ dinner. Brisket, chicken, cole slaw, baked beans, rolls, and pie for desert. They serve water, iced tea and lemonade as well. Then they finish the meal off with roasting marshmallows over an open fire. It really was a great experience for our family. We have 15 & 19 year old boys and my mother in law as well. Everyone actually enjoyed it. I recommend you give it a try.

      AWESOME MUST DO!
LOVED IT!!! I'm 18, the pinnacle age of being "over it" and "my mom dragged me here" and I absolutely loved this experience! First off, everyone is so nice! It really feels like a family affair, with the folks running it being super sweet, and engaging. We went on the 3-6 tour which was perfect because you get there right while it's still bright but also starting to cool down. They have a great set-up with an amazing view of the valley and Western mountain range of Palm Springs valley. You start out with lemonade, ice tea, and checking out the place and then they bring around the covered wagons! The wagon is huge and you make your way through the desert, (the tour guides are awesome and super informative, you learn about the plants, the mules, desert history, and they'll answer just about any question you have!). At the end of the wagon trail is a real oasis on the San Andrés Fault Line, (super cool!!), and you're able to get out, go for a small hike along the canyon and through the oasis and also say hi to the mules pulling the covered wagon! On your way back the sun is almost setting and you get a beautiful view of the sunset going down behind the mountains. You're also greeted with live music, a cowboy with a guitar and lots of games! (Cornhole, horseshoes, and they even have guys that teach you how to rope!) Then, one of my favorite parts(!!!) line dancing!!! They also provide loaded charcuterie snack plates before dinner. And the BBQ, SO GOOD!! And you can get seconds! Just when you feel ready to call it a night on a full stomach, they pull out pie and marshmallows you can roast over a fire pit. The view at night of the valley is amazing too! Overall 10/10 experience!!!

      Exceeded Expectations
This place is a true hidden gem of the year! The owners are so sweet and kind. The educational team is phenomenal and we learned so much on our covered wagon tour, from geology to history to botany and more! The sunset capture we took was so beautiful and just for that the tour is worth it. The meal and music when we return to camp is so well done that I wish I can eat their fixings every week. We enjoyed coleslaw, bbq chicken, seasoned beef, baked bean, bread and some yummy pie for dessert! The decoration is so fun and festive and is really well thought. They even have the opportunity to eat inside the tent or al fresco. Then to top off the night we got to roast marshmallows under the star kissed night. It was truly our favorite field trip of the year! Oh! and the music and dancing were so fun. Such a great experience that exceed our expectations!

This was great fun! We didn’t have kids with us, but there were several kids on the ride and they had a blast. Very educational with a talk about the plants and animals of the desert on the way out,and then we stopped at the oasis to get out and take in the view. The mules were adorable, and once we got back there was a yummy barbecue, with live music to set the atmosphere. They even taught us an easy country dance to do which was fun. There was plenty to do, some of us tried to learn how to rope the “steer”, played horse shoes or corn hole. After dark some roasted marshmallows while others went back out on the trail with blue lights looking for scorpions.

      Delicious, fun and entertaining
Went tonight and had an amazing time! Our guide was so knowledgeable and kept all of our children (ages 2-15) entertained. The food was amazing and the entertainment once we got back to the cook out was non stop. I would highly recommend this for families with children of all ages.

      Fun and educational
A great thing to do in the Coachella Valley if you are interested in learning about the desert, are ready to ride out into the desert in a covered wagon, like bbq food and enjoy live western music. Just a nice, fun experience for all ages.

This was the perfect outing for us,our two boys (11 and 13) and my in-laws! The views are nothing short of majestic. Johnna was SO informative about the environment. We learned a ton. The BBQ at the end was so yummy, and the music was perfect. Great memories were created.

      Don’t miss out!
Stumbled upon this as we were looking for things to do with our boys that are 8. I’m glad I did! You start the evening with a covered wagon ride learning about that local area, plants, animals, terrain, etc. followed by a delicious meal! Don’t forget the roasted marshmallows. We will do this again when we are back sometime. The staff was wonderful as well.

      Palm Springs Highlight
If you’re in the Palm Springs area, make sure you go on this trip. You get to ride in a covered wagon pulled by 2 mules. You go out in the desert and see floral and fauna up close. We saw many wildflowers, several oases and a canyon but no animals. A naturalist accompanies the tour and she told us many interesting facts about desert life. The sunset was beautiful. After our tour, we had a tasty dinner of beef, chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, garlic bread and apple pie. They also serve coffee, lemonade and hot chocolate and we even got to roast marshmallows. We were also entertained by a cowboy singer. This was my favourite activity in Palm Springs.

All parts of this experience were outstanding. Far exceeded my expectations. We’ve been in the Palm Springs area for a month and attended over 10 different productions. This was by far the best. Picked up a flyer the day before at another tour, called and made reservations.

    Kudos to all.

The wagon tour is great. They take you to the Oasis and the tour guide is very informative and has great sense of humor. The kids ran around and had fun. They did find it funny that the tour guy warned them about the many critters and snakes that live in the tree skirts and then let them go explore.

After the tour we went back and had a rope, gun twirling and whip show by Judy then the owner (Bill and his wife) taught everyone a fun barn dance. Great live music. We enjoyed a buffet style dinner. We loved the food! We had cole slaw, baked beans, smoked brisket/chicken, a delicious roll followed by pie. I should add that we also had live music during dinner. Once we were done with the pie the kids grabbed skewers and roasted marshmallows on the open flame.

Overall we had a GREAT TIME, made friends with the owners, ate a great meal and more importantly we got some much needed time out with the family!! Safety guidelines were followed. We highly recommend it!!! This was a great experience for our kids. Great family adventure for any age.

I HIGHLY recommend this tour for couples, families, friends and any group you want to grab. From the moment you arrive they treat you like close friends - explain everything and are so very friendly. The wagon ride was so much fun; but the history of the area and the explanations of what we were seeing was very interesting ... but wait ... then the fun really starts. As soon as you get back, the music is playing ... the barn dance is beginning. The sun is setting, the dancing has started and the food is so delicious. Just when you are relaxing and reflecting on the great time - there's more - it's time to roast marshmallows. I truly cannot recommend this fun adventure enough. It's perfect for everyone.

This is an absolute must-do in Palm Springs. The staff, especially the owner of the business were so accommodating. The covered wagon ride into the state park wasn’t too long, and the walk into the state park with the two guides (two covered wagons) was informative, funny and they were very interactive. Back at the BBQ, the banjo player and the singer played and sang, and the music level was perfect. The coordinated dancing with all the guests was just so much fun. Although it was a little cool, but surely not unbearable, we chose to stay at the outdoor tables to eat, and the staff brought out an outdoor heater! The fire pit was huge. While we typically don’t eat marshmallows, there we were partaking in the final event. Well worth every penny.

Covered Wagon Adventures is one of the best family activities I’ve ever had the opportunity to experience. Everyone there was so welcoming and informative. We started with horseshoes, cornhole, lassos and roping, along with refreshments. The covered wagon journey was absolutely incredible. I learned so many new facts about the area, including plants and wildlife and the palm tree oasis was a big surprise. After the wagon tour, we learned two line dances and we were entertained with music and singing by a wonderfully talented young lady in the best Wild West style. Then, we were treated to a delicious barbecue dinner including an apple-blueberry pie that was so tasty. The evening concluded with a marshmallow roast and viewing the spectacular starry sky and beautiful city lights. We all enjoyed this event very much. It’s great fun for all ages. Highly recommend.

This is an absolute gem in the Palm Springs area! Our family had an incredible time from start to finish. We started with the lasso lesson and gun twirling demonstration (fake guns of course!), then it was off on the mule drawn wagon to a desert oasis where we learned all about native plants and the San Andreas Fault. We returned to camp and enjoyed a barn dance before sitting down to homestyle brisket and chicken dinner with all of the fixings. All the while we enjoyed classic American/Western folk tunes performed by professional singer. What a night! It was the highlight of our week.

An excellent must-do trip made totally unique, truly a one off, by the haboob. We've been some years ago and wanted to do this again. Set up just off the highway it's easy enough to find. Knowledgeable and supper friendly staff make the evening relaxed and fun. We hoped on board the wagon for a narrated tour as we made our way to a small oasis. Here we were treated to the sight of a large owl in the palm. Once back at camp we began to see the haboob roll in. The impact was spectacular, and the organisers couldn't have been more accommodating to everyone. They moved the food deeper inside the tent and the later wagon tour were treated to a night-time visit to the oasis. Very cool. Meanwhile, the band played on as they say, and the live music continued into extra time. What an evening. It'll be another 17 years before another haboob blows through.

Don't miss this adventure! Fun, comfortable & beautiful ride through the desert where you will learn a lot about the local plant life and indigenous tribes. Arrive back to "the barn" to live music and entertainment. We enjoyed a rope & gun (not real guns) trick show, music, a barn dance, line dancing and fantastic food. Everyone who works here is amazing. Great, friendly people. Such an engaging experience. In a world of resort experiences......this is a REAL family experience. How things are supposed to be! My husband and I loved it, as did our twin 12 year olds AND our 16 year old. How often can one event please teens, tweens and adults?

We loved the Covered Wagon Tour! Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The tour itself was extremely informative and the driver and tour guide were both very knowledgeable. The live music was fun and we even participated in the barn dance! The performers were excellent. The meal was delicious and the company was even better. We plan to tell our friends!

Our group of 9 adults had a wonderful time on this tour. We are still talking about it 2-3 days later. I made our reservation well in advance to accommodate so many calendars. Bill (from Covered Wagon) and I kept in contact through out the preceding days when we had questions or our numbers changed. Upon arrival we were met by our guide and ushered in to the dinner and entertainment venue. Due to tremendous wind we were not able to take advantage of the outdoor games. The tour itself was fun and educational. Upon return to the Ranch we enjoyed our adult beverages and those that were provided. The musical entertainment was great, the barn dancing was fun and the food was delicious and plentiful. Customer service was exceptional. The guides, the drivers and other staff became our wait staff to make it even more enjoyable. We all agreed, "We will be back!"
