Not cheap but you’re paying for the fun experience
Fun for one adult and 12 year son to see more of Monterey. I think a lot of the reviews are unfair. We walked in, because I was not sure if the weather would be clear, with no reservation. So they only car available was the upgraded 4 seater, which sits higher. Realistically, you could rent a convertible for two days for nearly the same cost ($165) but miss out on the fun experience (he even got to hold onto the wheel with me for a bit). The guided tour is very informative and we enjoyed some spectacular scenery. The shocks are non-existent, so wear a sports bra! I simply pulled over to let people pass, not because I had to, but because I didn’t want to feel rushed or hold others up. Also, the 4 seater does not require helmets…not sure why. The reservationist and guy that handed us over to the car were friendly and informative.

What an outdoor treat
This was a great tour. As we drive along the coast we admired history and beauty that one could only witness at a seaside. With monarch butterfly preserve, historic buildings and entertaining sea lions the trip is well worth the time and money.

We rented the 4 seater roadster and just had a blast! The GPS took a minute to figure out but once we did it was easy.

The woman working there couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.

It was so fun zipping about town (they have a top speed of 25mph but thst feels a lot faster with the wind in your face) listening to the GPS tell us about the locations. It's a great way to see the highlights and get an idea what's worth a longer look. I would 100% do that again next time.

One recommendation: bring a jacket. With no top and not much side to the cars it gets a bit cold near the water.

Four older ladies and a FUN day in the Sea Cars.

Oh what a fun day with four older ladies and two Sea Cars. We couldn't hear the GPS at first and was "off track" so decided to do our own thing. What fun!! Cannery Row, Downtown Pacific Grove, the Coastline for awesome picture taking. We did discover later on that the GPS lady has a volume control. Once we were able to clearly hear, she was excellent and pointed out historical points that we would have missed. We loved, loved, loved it and want to do it again as soon as possible.

While the idea was great, the actual experience was less so. The sea car ran out of gas (they forgot to fill it up), and it was poorly maintained. The poor lone employee who was on hand could not possibly have handled interactions with customers, maintenance, etc. She had to leave the office every time someone showed up for a tour, so nobody was on hand for calls, etc. I would strongly recommend passing by this in favor of getting around Monterey on your own.

A truly fun and informative drive! Smiles on everyone's face

The 2-hour tour was just enough to stop at some of the spots while still motoring along and enjoying the scenery. The driving/tour is a true 2 hours after you sign paperwork and get a quick introduction to the vehicle. We had a blast driving around and taking in the sites while getting some history on Monterey. Would recommend to anyone!

Best of Monterey!

We did the 2 hour tour when we came to Monterey for a weekend and it was the best activity of our vacation BY FAR! Such a fun way to spend a sunny day exploring the coast and best spots of Monterey/Pacific Grove. Ditch your rental car, pack a picnic and take one of these cute little cars out for an hour or even a full day if you have the time. This is a must do if you're in the area. The guided tours are super helpful in learning about the history of Monterey as well :)

This was not what we expected, we were told if we didn't feel comfortable after instructions and making the 2 practice loops we would be refunded our money, we opted not to do the tour, and now we are told no refund. We are told no last name or phone # of the man in charge. We will never recommend this company, very shakie and does not follow thru w what we were told. Very disappointed.

Car tour was well worth it to see Monterey

My wife and I celebrated 25 years together with this trip to the west coast. Our car tour was so much fun and we got to experience a great mix of history and coastline scenery! The car was great and the automated tour went flawlessly. It would even let you stop and park to see an attraction and then resume where it left off. Every kid on the street pointed and wanted a ride! Tip: don't wear polarized sunglasses or you can't see the GPS screen. Would definitely do this again.

An absolute Must-do!

Absolutely the most fun we had on our getaway! Victor and Kim (I hope I got their names right) were awesome, friendly and helpful! The GPS was hard to follow at times and we got off track, but who cares??? We popped back on the course and back off. As long as you have a smart phone, there are no worries. I would absolutely encourage everyone to make this experience part of their visit to Monterey! Super easy and fun to drive, so don't be intimidated.
