About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 763nelliek0 contributionsBest tour guide in BanffWe had the joy of going on the lake Louis tour with our guide Eli. It was a small group of us 4 and 1 other lovely lady. This was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Eli was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. We were taken to lots of incredible stops that we wouldn’t have stopped at or known about if we hadn’t of done this tour. The flow of the day was perfect, never once did we feel rushed. We can’t rave about it enough and will be recommending to all our family and friends.Written February 8, 2025
- 828laceyy0 contributionsAwesome tour!Awesome tour. Guide Neal (sp?) was very knowledgeable, accommodating and personable. A beautiful walk /tour but we also got history, science and fun facts along the way. Did the morning tour and it wasn’t busy at all! Very Chilly but if dressed appropriately, you should be ok. Scenery was amazing and breathtaking not only in the walk but also in the drive. Saw ice climbers. Maple cookies and hot chocolate at the top. Highly recommend the tour and definitely with this company.Written February 8, 2025
- MontrealMan490 contributionsCanada’s beauty and world-class access to natureAmong Canada’s most beautiful national parks, Banff National Park is incredible to visit at any time. The village of Banff, Banff Sunshine and Lake Louise ski resorts, Lake Moraine, as well as the numerous walks and hikes and glacial lakes can occupy a visitor for weeks. Allow at least four days to discover the Banff and Lake Louise area. Easy-to-modest hiking in Johnston Canyon and Marble Canyon, visiting Banff, skiing (Norquay, Sunshine, Lake Louise) and walking or skating or kayaking on Lake Louise are popular activities. TIP: these areas get very crowded, so to miss the crowds start as early as possible… For foreigners visiting Canada for the first time, I’d propose a 3-4-week itinerary with stops in Montreal/Quebec City/Charlevoix (1 week); Banff National Park (4 days); Toronto/Niagara Falls (3 days); Vancouver/Vancouver island (1 week), Halifax/Cabot Trail (4 days).Written February 1, 2025
- natserr890 contributionsJohnston canyon Adventure!Great tour! Johnston canyon is spectacular in winter. Jake, the guide, made it even more special, with lovely recommendations and explanations. Best tour so far! Thanks, I definitely recommend it and be back in summer!Written January 31, 2025

- Lukelois360 contributionsFirst time to CanadaVisiting this gorgeous country from Wales UK, our your guide was Emma, from start to finish , everything was amazing, it was just me,my husband and Emma on this particular day, she was so knowledgeable , she was amazing, day was lovely, thoroughly enjoyed, thank you 👍Written January 20, 2025
- F8976HJandrewc0 contributionsJohnston Evening ice walkA well run guided walk. Jake, our guide was most entertaining with plenty of stories and facts from the moment we got on the tour bus to completion. The night we went was clear with beautiful skies. No others in the car park except for us and the fox. Safety conscious throughout. equipment provided for the walk was of good quality. Hot chocolate and maple cookies were a nice addition. Would be happy to book through this company again.Written January 19, 2025
- mku44400 contributionsDon’t pass on this experienceThis was a great excursion. I was a bit skeptical but we are so glad we went. We had a clear sky and full moon. Beautiful! And our guide Tina was fantastic. Would highly recommend this experience.Written January 14, 2025

- beezee20100 contributionsGreat fun, fabulous for older kids and teens. Does require a level of fitness. We chose this as an "easy" activity to do on Christmas Day. Note to all that snowshoeing is NOT necessarily an "easy" activity even for those of us who are generally very fit. Our teenagers absolutely had a ball on this tour. They loved whizzing down the slopes on the "crazy carpet slide" and making taffy in the snow. They voted this to be one of the most fun tours of the ten or so that we did while in Canada. I will say that it does probably require a higher fitness level than the website would have you believe though. Our whole family are long distance runners, cyclists etc but snowshoeing in deep powder for 3km isn't necessarily as easy as one would think when you aren't used to snowshoes or the thinner air. We were absolutely fine but I personally found this far more taxing than hiking Johnston Canyon etc and may not have eaten quite so much on Christmas morning if I'd realised. After reading the blurb on the website I think I was gearing up for a pleasant stroll rather than something that required that much effort! Fun - 100% yes. An "easy" stroll after a heavy Christmas brunch, not quite!Written January 9, 2025
- beezee20100 contributionsGreat tour to book when you first arrive in BanffI was a bit dubious about booking this tour but we ended up thoroughly enjoying ourselves. Great way to get your bearings in Banff when you first arrive and we went to some really lovely spots for photos. Wildlife wise it was a bit sparse - we saw a coyote, red squirrels, deer and some elk. I imagine that in Summer you'd see a lot more if that was your focus. I have to admit that part of the reason we loved this tour so much was due to our guide. We had Jake and he was fabulous. We did around ten different tours during our month in Canada and he was probably the best tour guide we had. He kept the entire group entertained with stories and history about the area. We ended up doing a couple of tours through this company and were really happy with them. If you book direct on their website there are multi tour discounts that make the pricing really competitive. We did this particular tour in the morning and then stayed on with the same tour company to do the Gondola in the afternoon. We could have visited the Gondola reasonably easily using the ROAM bus but we had a packed schedule during our week in Banff so this helped us to squeeze as much as we could into the time we had.Written January 9, 2025
- Stanthorpe0 contributionsGreat way to start your Banff experienceAfter a busy time getting into Banff we were keen to make the most of our time. We did this tour and finished at the Gondola. What a great morning. Annik our guide was a font of information on the history and nature of Banff. We saw the hot springs at sunrise and stumbled onto some playful otters in the lake. The grazing elk were also amazing as was the birdie. Annik was great fun as well as helpful with our plans. We enjoyed the gondola and Annik arranged our pick up by another helpful guide Buck. Highly recommend this as a great informative tourWritten January 7, 2025
- artm20250 contributionsBest experience - pay extra for interactive! The interactive tour was an incredible experience. It is great to see how well these beautiful animals are cared for. Most are rescued from well-intentioned cross-breeders who were not prepared to raise a wild animal. HIGHLY recommend if you are ever in the Calgary-Banff area.Written January 5, 2025
- Foodieforallnations0 contributionsGuides make the differenceOur guide Jake was fantastic! He made this hike so interesting with all of his historical knowledge, but also lots of stories and jokes. He was a blast and we appreciated his extra effort to make the most of our time. Ask for Jake in your tours and you will be so happy!Written January 4, 2025
- EddieVTC0 contributionsGreat views and outdoor experience! We did the Icewalk in late December around noon. The scenery was beautiful with partly frozen streams, frozen waterfalls and lots of snow. We walked to the upper falls, which is about a 3km (a little less than 2 miles) hike each way. With pics stops and everything, it took us around 2 hours. There is a longer hike to Ink Pots but it was twice as long and we didn’t carry anything to hydrate so we decided to skip it. Make sure to get the ice cleats for your boots/shoes. They are a must to avoid slips and they’ll make the walk much easier. Make sure your boots are comfortable. Also, it’s a good workout. I needed to loose a layer on the way up.Written January 2, 2025

A great tour! Would book again immediately! Everything perfectly organized! Thanks to our guide DANI from New Zealand. She took perfect care of our three young daughters. The girls were screaming with laughter. We also enjoyed it very much. All are very helpful and uncomplicated. Be sure to buy the photos for 15 euros (20 Canadian dollars) - are super quality!

Our family of 5 aged between 8 and 80 had an awesome time white water rafting on the Kananaskis river. This was a first time experience for my MIL who is legally blind. Our guide Richard took very good care of her as she sat right next to him at the back of the raft.
Richard would point out points of interest along the river and redo some of the rapids for some extra fun. We all felt very safe and can't wait to go back again! Thanks Richard for an awesome time and taking such good care of us all! My MIL is still talking about her adventure and hasn't stopped telling all her friends and families about her great adventure!
Face masks were only required on the bus ride to and from the launch point.

The rafting experience on the waters was good, while we were expecting to experience a bit more exciting rapids, the chosen course had only grade 2-3. The tour operators were amazing. In particular, our guide “Joe- from Scotland” made our trip so comfortable and fun. Joe was pleasant, engaging, shared numerous stories. Despite being new to the country/area, she was familiar with the course and guided our rafting group with ease and excitement. Thank you Joe and Chinook for a lovely experience.

Trip Advisor's emails sent us to the wrong rafting company!!!! We then had to rush a fair distance to the correct company. Chinook rafting had great staff and we shared the boat with a wonderful group, however there's a lot of down time and waiting for a fairly mediocre rafting experience. Would recommend this trip for families with young children but it's not a great experience for adults.

The river trip was AMAZING! Our guide, Richard, was fantastic! He had a great personality; he was funny and very knowledgeable of the river and its history. Most importantly, he made sure all SAFETY procedures were introduced to ensure everyone was comfortable, including the young children on the trip. I would highly recommend this adventure and would do it again in a heartbeat!!! Oh, and we jumped in the river (a cool 42 degrees) at the end!!! Thank you from Houston, TX.

A wonderful afternoon on the river. Our guide/pilot Hazel was fantastic - really friendly, engaging and skilled; she really made sure that we had a fun time.
We were a group of seven of mixed abilities and all of us enjoyed the rafting. Great to cool off at the end with a quick swim! Good equipment, procedures, briefing and transport.
Highly recommended.

We had an amazing rafting experience on the Kananaskis with Chinook rafting! Our guide, Rachel, was awesome - she was great at instructing the group, very personable, and highly knowledgeable about Banff in general. The rapids (class 2/3) were good for the novice adventurer - some pretty strong rapids for the first half and then a pretty chill ride the second half. Our son was too young to do class 4 (11 yrs old), which we would likely do if we went again. The whole group really emphasized safety and had great energy to make it a memorable experience.

It sounds like you had an incredible rafting experience on the Kananaskis with Chinook Rafting! Rachel, your guide, added to the fun with her instructions and knowledge about Banff. The mix of class 2/3 rapids and the emphasis on safety made it a memorable adventure. We hope your son gets to join for class 4 on your next visit. Thank you for sharing your fantastic experience! 🌊🚣♂️😊

Guides were great, easy to find, short bus ride to the starting point and very short after the activity. Gavin was our ship captain and was fantastic and keeping us safe making it fun and getting to know us. Much excitement with very little apparent danger.

A wonderful time! was quite worried about the weather during august as there was a forecast of rain however the sunshine and tour guides pulled through. The rafting itself was fun- might go up the next level for a bit more of an adventure but definitely family friendly. The photos were such a nice touch- high quality and easily available, perfect way to capture everything. Pas our tour guide was wonderful, she kept conversation going, engaged in some water fights with us and really taught us everything we needed to enjoy our ride. The whole thing was well organised, would have preferred better place to change/ more available places once back to the river base. The snacks and refreshments that are included were only a few things although it sounds like there would be more- still good nonetheless. Would definitely go again!

Our family of five adults had a great time on this river rafting adventure. First, we were provided with wet suits, booties, life preservers and helmets. After a school bus ride to the river, we had a safety demonstration. Everything was very organized despite the large number of people there. We met our raft guide Jo and she was fabulous! So sweet, fun, and knowledgeable! We were paired with another family of five for the trip. There were some fun rapids at the beginning and we got pretty wet - thankful for the wetsuits! It was an enjoyable and easy trip for all. Most of our group "dropped in" for a swim at the end. FUN and chilly! Loved the experience and our guide Jo!
