    wonderful Theater
We have been to the Dolby Theatre several times now and it really is great. It is located in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. in an open air mall and right next to the Chinese Theater. The walk of fame is right in the front and you can walk anywhere from there. The area has great places to eat and shop. The Dolby is up a flight of stairs but there is also an elevator. Most Tickets are from Ticketmaster, but The Pantages also has shows there and you go to their website to see what is at the Dolby. They have everything, from kids' shows to rock concerts and musicals. It is a wonderful place to see any show. The staff is great and will help you to your seats. It is a big place and the seats all the way in the back balcony are not good. The first 20 rows are the best. They also have good food and not just junk like you will find at other theaters. Parking is for a fee in the big lot for this mall. It is pricey. The place is just beautiful and kept very clean. You will love it.

    crazy america
Not much to see and extremely rude staff - we saw arriving some people protesting with antiwar or BLM slogans and suddenly Dolby Theatre employees start yelling racist words and calls police to clear all area because of "security concerns". And then police orders everyone to leave – even if you just bystander…

    Have a quick look
It is a landmark and famous theater located on the Walk of Fame. The surrounding museums and the mall are nice to get around.

    Nice theater
Went for a performance of HAIRSPRAY. Half of the thrill was being in the venue where the Oscars themselves are held- this was really fun for us. Overall is a great theater- modern and sleek and seemed to have good sightlines from most seats. Good bar with some food options. Overall a good place to see a show.

    Good with caveats
We saw The Nutcracker here in December. The production itself was superb. And the theater has good acoustics. Set against this is their rigid policy against bringing in any kind of food or drink into the theater. I can understand why they do this, but why be so rigid for performances aimed at kids and families? I also understand why they strictly prohibit any kind of photography of the performance. But sometimes very young children need a distraction, such as on a cell phone. But they have a zero tolerance policy, and this can come across as harsh and inflexible. Any snacks or beverages here will be expensive. Also parking in the facility is very expensive. And this theater is on Hollywood Boulevard which is crowded, noisy, dirty, and smelly.

    Worth Visiting
For movie buffs of Hollywood movies, visiting the universal studios, walk of fame were all worth the visit as it was on my bucket list for a long time and all these places were worth visiting. Finally Visited this place on 18th May 2023. The weather was good and not very crowded and managed to go around and see with my wife and managed to click a few pics. Dr. Javed Rasheed

    Under whelming!
Under whelming. The tour was only 30 minutes and I don’t think it was worth the $25. No history video - just an empty theatre.

    Another famous theater.
This is just another famous theater. Unless you're here for an event or play, skip the tour, as it is truly disappointing.

    Enjoyed It
I stumbled across this theater, which looks very small from the outside but is massive. I enjoyed walking on the outside, didn’t have time for a tour, wish I could have did one. It’s a must see.

    Paley Fest 2023
Visited here for ‘Paley Fest: The Mandalorian’. The show itself was a good experience but could have done with watching a new episode of the show and not one that everyone had watched just a week prior. Something that I would find an absolute nightmare about living in the States is the clapping and wooing that people do at screenings. If I hadn’t seen the episode, I would have been infuriated. Shut up and get a life. We had accessible seats, which were a pair of loose seats taken from some sort of doctor’s surgery waiting room. These seats weren’t cheap but the seats themselves were. Unprofessional. Entry into the venue was also a mess on the night. They didn’t account for disabled visitors who were non wheelchair users at all and the staff clearly didn’t understand or appreciate the concept. There was also no merch to speak of. I didn’t expect there to be anything really but I was still disappointed. Finally, the prices at this place are insane. $67+ for popcorn and two drinks!? Really?

    A walk through Dolby Theatre
Saw so many images of all famous stars walking on the sgtairs towards Dolby Theatre.. Finally i was there. Didnt entered the Theatre due to shoratge of time. But thoroghly enjoyed the walking around. The entrance ha all the names of awarded movies till 2072... On the 4th floor, there is a place from where the Hollywood sign is visible and is usually very cowdy. There is a place beside the same floor wash room... from where the Hollywood sign view is even better but i saw no person there..

    Unsafe seating arrangements
Great sound, but we sat in Mezzanine 3 to see Chris Rock and there are rows of about 60 seats that have no aisle between them! I'm surprised this isn't a fire code violation. No one could move for 2 hours! The good thing is that the seats are angled so you could stand up and not block anyone's view, but getting to your seat with people already sitting was a tightrope walk, and our seats were over $100 each. Chris was awesome, my review is for the theater.

Walk to the Walk of Fame
Just walked through the Dolby headed to the Walk of Fame. It was a nice place! You get to see some Hollywood stuff and they have shops and restaurants you can go to as well. Right outside of it is the Walk of Fame which is really convenient.

Dolby Theater - great space for a live musical show!
We had a chance to see The Band’s Visit at the Dolby. I have worked ON that stage and back stage but have never seen a live stage show AT the Theater. Great seats!!! Orchestra row N and could see so well. For being such a large house it was great to see actors faces and hear every line and every song. The theater is great and The Band’s Visit ( 10 Tony Awards) so we’ll done. A beautiful way to start the Holiday Season .

Really nice to visit and tour the Dolby Theatre where 'The Oscars' are held. It was intriguing to get a insight into the work behind the scenes and the preparation and how everything is done. The Theatre itself is stunning with architecture features and hidden corridors. You could easily get lost without a guide.
If you want to do it, make sure you go to the box office and get your tickets first thing in the morning (not sure if you can buy the day before) so you can get a time slot you want.

We just wish the tour was a little bit longer to see more of it.

Absolutely fantastic tour!!!! Only short and sweet but it was perfect. Our tour guide Andy was great! You get to actually go on the stage and see what the audience look like. Honestly such a surreal experience! A must for all film and movie lovers!

Only thing I would say that would make this better is to be able to hold a real Oscar at some point in the tour!

A wonderful experience to let your imagination run wild! We booked on the day of, and had like a half an hour wait, so wandered around the shops, soaked up the sun and enjoyed seeing the Hollywood sign from Hollywood and Highland!

As you approach the theatre, there’s a little red carpet, which I thought was really cool! It was only us, and another couple, so it was a nice, intimate experience, with a very knowledgeable young man, who took us around.

You walk through the lobby, which has a Busby Berkeley-inspired stairwell. Then are taken into the VIP bar area - you even see an Oscar on display in there! Heading on into the theatre itself is so awesome! It’s amazing how much smaller it feels in real life - oh the magic of television.

We got to go on stage, then backstage, and along a corridor that displayed pictures of past Academy Award Winners, then headed into a box to get a different view of the auditorium.

I absolutely loved our visit and would thoroughly recommend it!

Attended the Sarah Brightman concert December 15, 2024 with my wife. Sarah’s performance was excellent in every way. But our experience was marred at the end of the show. In order to depart the theater we used the escalators in the Dolby theater and it was a near disaster. There was no crowd control whatsoever and as people existed the elevators they were forced to push their way through the massive crowd at the base of each elevator. Frankly, the experience was scary and could have resulted in serious injury or worse. Dolby needs to take crowd measures to move people off the moving elevators in a safe manner.

The Dolby Theatre tour was disappointing, and not worth the $25 (plus tax) charged per person. This tour involves little more than allowing you into the theatre to look at it and take some pictures (and by the way, the theatre is less impressive in person than on TV- carpets need replacement, etc). We were also disappointed in our tour guide, who was not into the tour and just wanted to get it over with, and seemed annoyed with any questions (we went to the 10:30 AM tour on Thursday). In fact due to the rush it took even less time than the advertised 30 minutes.

Tours are timed entry so make sure you are there at least 15-20 minutes before tour time. The tour itself was pretty short (30-40 minutes) but the guide was very good and provided some great history and details of the the theatre. Was very cool getting to walk onto the stage and look out over the seats and balconies.

Dolby theater is famous for the academy awards. And it is also a theater choice for Broadway Hollywood You can enter on the first or second floor. It is clean. Well laid out. Great seating from anywhere in the theater. Has history and glitz. Recommend parking across the street at the Rosevelt

The theater was impressive. Our guide explained that this theater was built specifically to house the Oscar presentations. We saw all the behind the scene areas where Oscar presenters are located before taking this stage and where Oscar winners are present after receiving their awards. We were on center stage and took pictures galore. The history of the Academy was explained. We saw a video of how the Oscars are made. It is a beautiful and impressive building but our tour guide put the whole picture together in such a way it became a memorable experience. This is a must see!

Great tour which lasted about 35-40 minutes. Was able to walk around the lobby, sit in the theater, go back stage and stand on stage. For anyone interested in the Academy Awards, this is a must. Very informative and small tour, there were about 10 people on our tour. If you are on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, definitely worth a tour here!

Wow. The tour is phenomenal. We got to go on the stage and see what it’s like from perspective of accepting an Oscar, so darn fun!!!! The perspective of seeing. The backstage, “green room” and the pathway of the stars from Hollywood blvd up the red carpet, and through and into the stage. Then the journey from seats to acceptance, behind the stage to the freight elevator, to the press room. Wonderful images and captures from proper award winners and nominees.
