    Universal does not disappoint
Fabulous day at universal, I have to say the express pass was fantastic, really made everything far easier to navigate the park in a day!

VIP good for studio tour and Mario Kart
Did this tour with our 9 year old and it was awesome! Our tour guide Donald was great and enjoyed all the features. The bottled water and small pastry/fruit breakfast. We did tour at 10:30. We hit traffic but wished we would have had more time prior, so try and arrive early and use the valet parking to get it credited! We did the studio tour first, which was interesting but we had done WB the day before so it felt kinda repetitive. We were able to hit every single ride and it was 100 degrees when we went so not waiting outside was awesome. But I only remember going through one secret door, rest were just express lane. I think unless you really love back lot tours (or want to do Mario Kart ride which is why we did it) I might would only do express lane next time and save some money. Lunch was a buffet and had a ton of choices, enjoyed that break!

    VIP Experience is WORTH IT
The VIP Experience was awesome! Our tour guide, Donna, took us through the whole park and we loved the mix of seeing movie magic combined with our favourite movies turned into rides! And the express system was worth the price on its own…it was 40 degrees when we visited so NOT queuing for long was perfect. Lastly, having lunch in a bespoke air conditioned venue provided a nice break in the day…lots of pictures, fabulous memories….whats not to love?!?!

    VIP for the day
Although some may say a little costly it was such a great experience. We were treated like absolute stars from the minute we walked up to the red carpet VIP entry. The food for breakfast and lunch was outstanding and it was so great to jump all the lines. The other thing was not having to stress where to go and what time we just followed our guide and that meant we could look around and just enjoy three details of the park. With some free time at the end of the day to do what ever we want and go back on any other rides we wanted still skipping the lines. Very impressed and I recommend to everyone.

    Great Fun
Great park to visit. Plenty of things to do, plenty of rides and the tour was fab. Just read all the 5 star reviews - they are correct. Will be back if we go back to LA

Amazing - well worth the money!
The VIP experience didn’t disappoint! Universal is a must do. This was a special holiday celebrating some special occasions so we decided to surprise the kids. It was also the same date as GCSE results so it was a treat our daughter’s hard work. It started with free Valet pick up and once we checked in at the VIP desk the girls were super excited. The guide we had was amazing - Owen looked after us super well, took us to the rides via express lane and held our bags whilst we were having fun. The lunch included was high quality buffet with drinks included (alcohol at extra). Water was also available at key points through the day. The studio tour experience was a great highlight made special with the VIP stops for photos at some set locations. Worth you knowing that the express lane was much better than Disney, as you can use it on all the big rides and as many times as you like. We were looked after by Owen from 9:15an and once finished with him we had 3 hours at the end of the day to go on all the rides again 👌

    Fun Day Out!
First visit for two adults 1 day Friday August 23, 2024. We had done Universal Orlando years ago and knew that this park was smaller. We had a day to kill so it was perfect. We didn’t stay at the hotels near there or utilize parking as we have heard from further south. We choose to purchase the super Mario land $20 early admission. I highly recommend this as it will get you into the park and our early you will go down and do the super Mario kart ride. Then you can knock off the other three rides that are down there as well then work your way back up to the top of the park. It’s an odd park built in to the side of a mountain in a sense there are many escalators. The views were beautiful, but it’s also a kind of odd layout. If you suffer from any kind of motion, sickness, or get dizzy easily, I would totally skip this park. Most of the rides are all simulator type rides where you’re faced with a screen and riding through in a car. The one ride they don’t have in Orlando is the back lot tour and that was actually my favorite ride along with the mummy. The ride takes an hour, so make sure you leave time for it. There are some surprises along the way with the ride. We ate lunch at Mel’s diner. It was OK standard park food. Getting there early was the best ideas it wasn’t as hot and crowded as the day went on the crowds appeared and it did get very hot. We wrapped up around two in the afternoon. We are done mostly everything we wanted to do and didn’t have kids with us to do the kid areas. In general it’s worth a visit. If you have time to kill I wouldn’t make it a major priority. I do think it’s over priced for what you get ..if you seen the one in Orlando the only thing different is the back lot tour. The longest we waited in the afternoon was around a half an hour, 40 minutes for Harry Potter. I would not splurge on the express pass that’s an additional 150 on top of the ticket price that would be a total waste.

    VIP Tour
The VIP Experience was a really great time. Tour guides Will and Vera were the absolute best. Loved their energy and playfulness! The tour moves on the quicker side so it didn't leave much time to explore which was a little unfortunate. But having everything taken care for you and no waiting to get on the rides was amazing. Only downside of the day was lunch break, coming across Dracula doing table work interaction at the restaurant. Absolute worst. Is Dracula supposed to be a bit of a d*ck to patrons? Yeah, that guy sucked. And not in a cool vampire way. 8/21/2024

Do the VIP Experience if you're interested in Universal Park Experience
Haven't been to Universal Studios in a very long time and chose to go with the "expensive" VIP Experience Tour this time around. If you're wanting to enjoy the full day at the park, not wait in lines, get to experience things that no one else will.. then choose to go with the VIP Experience. Our tour guide Janson was phenomenal ... he knew his stuff, interacted well with our 10 person party, and does very well with young kids. While you may somewhat "scoff" at the cost of this tour, it's totally worth it...and make sure you request Jason... he was great!

Awesome, but half of what you get in Orlando
Universal was awesome! But, there's a but.. We went to Universal Orlando a few years ago. And that is in a different league compared to Hollywood. While the price is pretty much the same. In Orlando you get twice as much. But what Universal does is top notch. The way they bring you in another world is extraordinary. Express line is a must have. Do a few rides without early in the morning. And do them again in the afternoon with Express. It was summer but the heat was manageable and so were the crowds

Skip the Line at Universal Studios
If you don’t like waiting in line (who does?) and you can afford it (it is on the pricey side), Skip the Line is a great enhancement to your Universal Studios experience, especially if it’s a hot, sunny day.

    The golden ticket
Perfect in every way. Valley parking, no waiting in line to enter the park, amazing food on arrival and great area to get your bearings and settle into the park. The pass then gives you fast pass on any ride as many time as you want. We went on every ride and the good ones at least three extra times. The longest we waited all day was about 40 seconds for rides with a 1 hour standard wait time. The you get your personal guide. We had a chap called Tyler, he was amazing, very professional and knowledgable but yet just like being with your friend. He guided us on every ride all day. The film lot tour on your private bus was out of this world, a good hour or so stopping and walking around all the good bits, sound stage and prop store. Then there was lunch, amazing five star buffet. Water included all day as well as extras. It would be a false economy to visit without this ticket and I would say double this price would still be reasonable. All of the guides were great but ours was brilliant and if you are a universal boss reading this then please give Tyler a pay rise ( the female he worked with for the bus tour was also brilliant) by the end of the day it was like being with a family member. 100% worth it and with it universal which is already awesome is even better 👍

    Brilliant tour!!
This tour was amazing! We did it with our 7 year old son, mainly for Mario kart and unlimited access! We had a 1.30pm tour, we had breakfast in the VIP lounge. Did some rides with our express pass, then met our guide Aaron. He was fab! We did the studio tour, then Harry Potter. Then we had lunch about 4pm, this was fantastic! Amazing food. We were super impressed! Then did the lower lot rides. Super Nintendo world was why we wanted to visit and it was epic! Overall an amazing day, absolutely brilliant!

Like their Halloween event but not as bad. For Halloween, you will enter the park right when they open and lines will be 60-90 min. Within an hour of the event being open, the lines will be up to 2.5 hours. Universal should be ashamed of themselves for the greed they exhibit. To have people pay so much money and only be able to go on 2-4 mazes the entire evening is just wrong. I am convinced that the fire department would shut this event down of being overcrowded but they have their OWN Fire Department, so nothing will be shut down. The place is going to have a major disaster one day and a lot of people are going to get hurt because there are just too many people in that place to exit 4 turn stalls. God forbid there is ever a fire or earthquake;

I have complained to Universal about the safety issues more than once.

I will save a copy of this message for the day when a disaster hits them and people are trampled on. Do not bring your little ones to this park. It's not safe.

Dec 2019 • Friends
Went to Universal in December 2019 for a guys trip and had a blast. We didn’t have any skip the line stuff and still had no problem hitting every ride during the day. The Hogwart’s ride is by far the most popular so we did a run for that first thing and then just looked to see what ride had the shortest wait time and headed there.

The park has excellent WiFi coverage so download their app and you can see wait times etc.

One piece of advice, if you buy clothing, try it on at the store. I bought a shirt a size larger than I normally wear and when I got back home couldn’t even get it past my shoulders. Totally my fault for not trying it on there.

As it was December the park was decked out in Christmas decorations and they had The Grinch there and do a tree lighting show at night too. Quite well done.

The lines are too long and they let in too many people: no bueno!!!!! Covid infection rates are spiking and we were packed in there like sardines.
We bought the tickets through the official website: $134 of pure robbery… we were there around 9:20 am and able to do one ride. As people started coming in the lines were just too much: even my two 16 year old sons gave up after two rides….. i expected a better time for the money we spent. Big disappointment.
Universal Studios you are way too greedy: let less people in so they can actually enjoy the experience!

Really enjoyed the resort and learning more about how movies are made. For adults I think it needs to be a little bit cheaper than children because there is more for kids than adults to be honest. Overall it’s a good day out for a couple/family.

It was unbelievably overcrowded. Possibly 300% overloaded. Wait times was 2+ hours on all rides and express tickets sold out. They also closed down all single rider lines early in the morning to accommodate oversold express tickets. Most horrible experience ever. Why would anyone pay 300$ for this including express when Disney offers much more for less and more meaningful crowd control. Best ride in town Resistance has only 90 minutes when mediocre ride times 3 hours in this park. This is week of Dec 28th 21.

A real ripoff - 140$ (560$ for 4!) to spend the whole day waiting inline and just a few rides completed. What a waste of time and money!
There are indeed very few attractions for the number of tickets sold, hence completely overcrowded ; and even less are hardly worth the wait. Quality is overall quite low, queues have virtually no animation or decor making the wait boring.
All waiting times are systematically underestimated as all “express” folks will freeze the general queue as they proceed, and they are many! We were always standing still with the queue not progressing ; 60’ wait time announced on entering, ending over 180’ actual time!!! Never seen anything like this !
Plus on many attractions you have to leave your bag in (tiny) lockers (sometimes for a fee!) to access the tour and you finish your waiting 1h in the heat with no water. A real nightmare!
To complete the picture, without any mention of maximum height, and after 3h of wait I had to step out of the Harry Potter ride because the restraining bar was pushing hard on my shoulders and the attendant pushed down even more, arguing that it should go 2 clicks further! What kind of entertainment is this ? Torture ?

The park used to be really worth it 30years ago for movie enthusiasts, but now I do not recommend this park at all, unless you are ready to spend 300$ per person to get express pass. Never, ever again as far as I’m concerned.
Save your money and go to the beach! Or go to Disneyland Paris or in any Europe park where things are far better organized and the guys know how to make your experience enjoyable, even in the crowds.

Purchased nearly $500 in tickets in the beginning of the year through a special groupon deal....I contacted support to see if they would refund or extend my ticket beyond a year as everyone in my group is immunocompromised. At first I was told no and then the person admitted they don'tknow anything about my ticket type. I kept contacting them to have policy reviewed and no response for weeks now. They haven't done anything with my ticket type and I may have to eat that cost, which is especially difficult as I have been furloughed since early April.

Update August
I have been in touch with customer support who are attempting to rectify the situation. Appreciate the prompt replies and dedicated customer service.

Spent one day at this park. Had made several visits to the sister park in Orlando and was pleased with those trips, this on the other hand we will not repeat. We purchased early entry for the Nintendo experience as our young son loves Mario. Entered the Mario Kart ride and did our thing within the first half hour of the park opening for a great start to the day. We tried to enter and do it again knowing the demand and the wait was already 90 minutes just after 7:30 am which is what we were trying to avoid. Didn't do it the rest of the day as the wait times are obscene. Not only that once 8 am hits the Nintendo area of the park is unbearable, especially as hot as it is this summer in California. They really need to either build a bigger area or limit the number of people entering. That part of the park is great visually, but really a let down when it comes to execution. Be prepared to drop another $40 per child if you want to have the full experience as you need a micro chipped Mario wristwatch to enjoy the features. Same concept as the Harry Potter wand only lamer. About 9 am we headed out to the rest of the park. I tried to buy some yogurt at one of the restaurants. Made the purchase and then found out there weren't any spoons. Was told I could look for them at other food stops in the park. Uh no I won't and certainly not for a $12 yogurt that should cost no more than $3 outside the park. Just obscene greed at this place, it's utterly disgusting and a HUGE turnoff. Also bought an $18 refillable cup for soda, powerade, etc only to find out that Universal refuses to restock the machines with ice or drinks only lukewarm water and the queues at the restaurant are so long that it's pointless anyway. Did not get one refill out of the deal. We rode less than 10 rides the entire day (we were there over 12 hours) throughout the park and paid over $2k between lodging and park tickets. The studio tour was great as the wait was short and the ride interesting, but that's the only positive I can say about the ride experiences. We also visited other parks during our visit to Southern California that did not gouge the customer in such obscene ways that Universal does. California is expensive, however this Universal location is even beyond that. We as a family all agreed that we will never go back.

Universal studios was a lovely visit! So much fun. The park was clean, employees were kind and courteous, and the snacks/food were available when needed.
We purchased the admission tickets with the universal express addition. It can only be used once per ride per day. On hind site- we didn’t need to spend the extra money because the lines were short and the park wasn’t crowded. We went on a non holiday Sunday. But we considered the express purchase an “insurance policy” in case it was super crowded on the one day we were able to go.
LA county law states that masks must be worn indoor AND outdoor in public settings at all times. The park staff did a great job of enforcing this without being rude or overbearing.

Wondered if we needed more than a one day pass but we didn’t. At this time of year (January) lines were fine and we got there for the opening and spent whole day, leaving just on dark. Rides were great. Glad we didn’t get talked into getting VIP which would’ve cost an extra NZD$1000 approx for five of us
