A must-have experience while in LA
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to LA. Our guide, Brandon, was very knowledgeable and had the answer to all of our questions. He even took the time to show us some sights that weren’t a part of the tour (such as filming locations from American Horror Story and Blade Runner) purely because he knew we had an interest in them. If you find yourself in LA and have the time then I would definitely recommend taking this tour, the stories were engrossing and it was a great opportunity to see a different side of LA.

Super fun way to learn about DTLA for visitors and locals alike! We covered expected sites like the Cecil and Biltmore as well as less well-known areas. Our guide was highly knowledgeable and a great storyteller!

A must do tour of LA.
We were very lucky to have Phil as our guide - he was not only extremely knowledgeable about Los Angeles but interesting and entertaining as well. The two hours passed really quickly. We learned so much about buildings and history we would never have found out by walking around ourselves. Highly recommended. Ask for Phil.

Perfect mix of haunted history and true crime tales
Brandon was an awesome tour guide! He is a fantastic storyteller so each tale comes alive as it unfolds. He is entertaining and has gone above and beyond with his research for each story. He is also an amazing person who took the time to make sure everyone got back to where they need to be at the end of the tour so no one was stranded in an unfamiliar area. We’ve been on two tours already and will be back again soon for another!

    Best of LAs Downtown
Awesome tour of LAs downtown area. Tour guide was very charismatic and had plenty insight in the history of the city. A must for anyone interested in getting a taste of some of the city's coolest hidden spots or any travellers concerned about being safe in the downtown area. Definitely ask the guide about other places to check out before or after the tour, as they know about other cool spots that are in walking distance

Super fun LA tour and tour guide!
We learned so many fun facts and excellent places to visit in downtown LA on this tour! Our cool guide Phil was terrific—truly one of the best we’ve EVER had (and we’ve been on many tours!). Phil’s knowledge base and his love of LA was evident, and he was able to follow our lead as far as pacing. He knew so many facts about areas we walked through and even other areas we walked by when we asked him questions. we look forward to many more tours with him when we visit LA! If you’re on the fence about whether to do this or not, we highly recommend you do it!

Great L A experience rated by a “local”
I worked for the City of L A for almost 3 decades and hesitantly planned this for my friend’s birthday. We learned so much and we’re pleasantly entertained! We parked in Pershing Sq and started the day at Bodega Louis and spent a few hours at the Last Book Store before the tor and it was a perfect day!The streets have been cleaned up a lot and we never felt unsafe or uncomfortable due to street conditions. Phil was great!

    Fun and informative.
Phil was a terrific guide. His sincere interest in the city's history and it's architecture informs the whole tour. Our group was 5 in total and we enjoyed one another enough to have lunch (Phil included) at the end of our morning. We learned fun facts about the development of LA and enjoyed the 90 minutes much more than if we had just strolled the area without a guide. The walk is paced just right - certainly not strenuous. Highly recommend for all ages. One caveat: The area is not very wheelchair accessible, mostly because of the Central Library's multiple tiers of gardens and old sidewalks. Inquire directly if you need more information about accessibility.

Highly recommend Phil and his tour
The tour was very good and I doubt there could be a more informed guide than Phil. I've lived in the surrounding LA area for nearly 50 years but was not familiar with the downtown area. Many interesting structures with deep backgrounds. Pleasantly surprised that the streets and sidewalks were so clean. No homeless encampments in the tour area, very safe surroundings.

I went to LA to do a research for my novel about the events and places in the beginning of XX Century.
Besides the work at the Central Library, it was the tour with Neil, Downtown LA Walking Tours, that provided me with the volumes of interesting facts related to the period.
I was impressed with easiness and flexibility of the captivating presentation. It was not a fossilized script but a live interaction with the participants.
Neil is a remarkable guide with a charming personality. I am sure you will enjoy your walking tour with him to learn about LA as much as I did. Highly recommend.

This was a terrific tour! It's super easy to book a reservation, and you don't pay until you are at the tour. Our guide, Phil, was wonderful. He's knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. There were 7 of us and it was interesting for everyone. I have lived here over 45 years, and learned so much. We all thought it was fantastic and hope to do more of the tours they offer.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour for anyone living or visiting in Los Angeles county.

We had a great 2 hours with Phil. He kept me, my husband and 15 year old daughter interested and engaged throughout the tour. Saw some fabulous places, union station, the cathedral of our lady, the angel flight, Walt Disney concert hall. We (I) asked tonnes of questions and Phil was happy to answer them all. Thoroughly recommend this tour. Thanks for the great start to our holiday!

A fact-filled walk from Union Station to Angels Flight - highly recommended both for locals and visitors! I have lived here for a few months and learned so much about the history of the area, and gained some great tips for future visits to local museums and theaters. Thank you to our excellent tour guide, Chris!

The tour ended up only being the two of us along with our tour guide Chris. He was excellent and very knowledgeable. We had a great tour even though the weather was cloudy and just a little sprinkles here and there. But overall I would recommend doing this. You get to see and learn about LA.
