San Diego Taco Crawl - A Curated Tour of San Diego's Best Tacos - Public Tour

By Baja Test Kitchen
About
Mexico's best tacos (and thus the best tacos in the world!) are found just over the border from San Diego, in Tijuana and Ensenada, where we also lead amazing street food tours... But if you don't have your passport, or you just don't have time to devote a day to explore the vibrant culinary scene south of the border, and you are interested eating some of the best tacos found outside of Mexico, this is your tour! Mexicans living in San Diego can't always make it over the border to enjoy their beloved street tacos. We'll take you to where they eat in San Diego. At these hole-in-the wall joints and taco trucks, you're more likely to hear Spanish spoken over English, but don't worry, our expert bilingual gastroguides will take care of the translating for you! And while you'll spend most of the day getting down and dirty with San Diego's best street tacos (you eat tacos with your hands!), we'll end at an upscale gourmet taco bar that also serves Baja microbrews and craft cocktails.

Fantastic Custom Trip and Personalized Service
Chris helped my husband plan the perfect get-away for 4 couples to celebrate my birthday. As avid wine drinkers and world travelers, we are very demanding when planning our wine tasting experiences. Chris surpassed our expectations in selecting wineries and restaurants in Valle de Guadalupe. We will be back again!

    Wonderful Time
Chris was well spoken and well informed. His historical knowledge, personal relationships with wine makers and suggestions to make the trip flawless were all appreciated. I would definitely do this again with Chris and Baja Test Kitchen because I wouldn't want to miss the insider's tips.

    Wonderful Wine Tour
Great experience. Highly professional and engaging guide. Group was small, allowing for pleasant interactions. Wineries themselves were quite nice, and their wines excellent.

Valle de Guadalupe wine tasting the safe and simple way
Incredibly good communication and prep leading up to tour. Made visiting Valle de Guadalupe Mexico a breeze with all transportation in nice sprinter van. Chris was our guide and a knowledge powerhouse of the region who knew everyone/thing. For anyone concerned about safety in this part of Mexico -fear not. This area is so low key and romantic and chill. Zero drama or issues, even crossing back and forth at border. Just follow simple rules that BTK explains and you’ll be good to go. 3 excellent wineries. If you like wines at Vina Frannnes, first stop, buy them! We didn’t because we had 2 more wineries and we regret it as these were our favs and they don’t ship to US. Their picks were first rate on all stops. Very well and snd personable tour. Dare I say perfect.

Ensenada Eats was the absolute best!
Chris kept our bellies full with the most incredible food experiences...a week later I'm still craving another fish taco! But he made the experience far richer with his wonderful storytelling that set you up with the full cultural context before you sampled each cuisine. He was awesome to work with from beginning to end, even customizing our group tour to accommodate our time and food preferences. The van was clean and comfortable and he provided hand sanitizer and cold water bottles as we moved from place to place, which was a nice touch. Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely be booking another experience with Baja Test Kitchen!

Great Tour, Deeply Knowledgeable Guide. Fun, Safe Great Tour!
These 3 days were perfect! We. wanted to taste the wines of Mexico, eat great food and have fun and all our goals were very well met. Chris, the tour leader, knows the area very well, knows winemakers, and chefts, listens to your interests and matches wineries with tastes. We stayed in a very nice hotel based on Chris' recommendation. Trust this company to give you a great experience at a great value. This tour was fantastic! We had a wonderful time and will be back for another--likely in 2020! Can't wait for more! Do not hesitate to book with BTK, they are terrific.

Wine and Culinary Tour Valle de Guadalupe - Five Star
This tour was so great ! From the detailed border crossing instructions, to the pivoting to a private tour when everyone else cancelled due to rain, and great recommendations for our anniversary dinner in San Diego. Chris gave us great insight to the wine region, history, local people and wines!! All of the boutique wineries on the tour were amazing with some of the best wines we’ve tasted in the world. We will be back again someday for another one of your tours!! Visit Mexico it was safe and the people are warm and welcoming! Thank for for making our Anniversary trip special :)

    Bajs Test Kitchen Tour
This was a wonderful trip. Jen was so informative and welcoming and made the trip very enjoyable. The wineries were also welcoming and delightful. The wines were great and the hosts were cordial and friendly. Lunch was awesome. We were so happy to learn about the Guadalupe Valley. The arrangements were easy to make and so reliable. This was our second tour with Baja Test Kitchens and we look forward to going again. A great way to entertain out of town guests.

    Wine was great
We were met on the US side and drove through the border instead of the expected walking across. We met as suggested in the coffee shop at a mall in the US and it went smoothly. Travel in Mexico was uneventful, smooth and the wine and meal were very good.
