- memypassportandi00Superb trip to Western BhutanI just finished a wonderful 6-day trip with Yak Holidays and would recommend them wholeheartedly. Everything about the week was great. We visited several beautiful sites per day, including monasteries, nunneries, fortresses, museums, mountain passes, and more. The accommodations were very comfortable. The meals were tasty and punctual. And our guides (Milan, Chimi, Sonam) were friendly and did a great job telling us about the history, culture, and religion. They also added in extra things that weren't on the itinerary, like visiting an animal sanctuary to see the national animal, the takin. In particular, I want to thank the team for taking care of me while I wasn't feeling well. Sadly, the altitude was too much for me, so I was unable to visit Tiger's Nest. The team arranged for me to have a traditional hot stone bath at the hotel, and then they added the Dzongdrakha Monastery for me, which is known as the Second Tiger's Nest. It was a great way for me to have a similar sort of experience without the hike that I couldn't do. I hope to return someday and visit the actual Tiger's Nest with the team at Yak Holidays. They did such a great job, and I'm grateful to have been in such good hands. Kadrin Cheyla!
- DemenTB00A fantastic cultural Bhutan tour from Yak Holidays Int'lIt was all well organized. Sitha who runs the Yak Holidays Int'l agency was attentive and answered all our questions before booking the Bhutan trip. All the places we visited were excellently explained by So Nam (our guide). She also went out of her way to accommodate any and all requests from us with care and kindness. The driver, Som Bir, was also excellent. We really enjoyed the trip! It was definitely worth the money!
- Lysandra200000Great Bhutan ExperienceMr Sithar did a great job as our travel agent. This trip was booked, then rebooked, then covid came, he did all that needed to be done to get our money back from the hotels and others that we had already paid. After covid he booked it all again for us, responded to all my emails promptly with the answers I needed. He also did a great job with last minute changes, as the airline changed the date of the non daily flight, and other unexpected changes that were out of his hands. Our 2 new friends, Chungdu Dorji and Damcho Tshering did a great job. Chungdu, Our guide, has a lot of knowledge of all the history of Bhutan and of all the temples, Monasteries, Dzongs, and other buildings of the country. As well as the religion. We learned very much from him and I especially enjoyed our conversations about religion, Bhutanese society and culture. As well as his sense of humor, with a twinkle in his eyes. Our driver, Damcho, was fantastic, as he drove up and down those million curves of roads, he made us feel very safe. Great driver! And more than a driver, he participated and helped on the hikes, as many times as parking allowed him to. Always friendly and kind. Together with Chungdu they made a great team! Thank you for a memorable trip. We hope to come back again some time. Bhutan Tip: Do not exchange too much foreign currency when arriving in Bhutan ... if you have left over, you cannot change it back!
- fungting00Happy BhatenSpent 7 days and 8 nights in Bhaten late Faburary, arranged by Yak Holidays. Bhaten is a peaceful place with unspoiled countryside. Besides Tiger's Nest, Katsho Gormba and Kila Gompa nunnery are surprisingly memorable. The choices of hotel and the food are excellent even I only chose 3 stars accommodation. Mr Sithar, Ms Sonam and Mr driver and the coordinated effort of all hotel staffs delivered true hospitality. It's a joyful experience from the beginning of booking to the end of the trip. Thank you.
- 671riverm00Great GuidesYak Holidays was a great company to travel with. They were supportive in what we asked for and the guides had lots of knowledge! The only feedback we have, was that when we wanted to change things up in our itinerary, our guide had to receive permission before we could change it. This made us feel like it was a struggle to change our own trip. However, everything worked out and our guide provided great service. Additionally, the hotels were amazing and extremely clean, the staff were so helpful and the food was great! However, the hotels were on the outside of town making it challenging to walk around the city's in the evening and explore or meet other people. Over all though, we were happy with our Yak Holiday experience!
- 675jithinr00Perfect!I cannot compliment yak holidays enough. From the get go, Visa process to receiving us from the airport to sending us off, everything was just perfect. They were courteous, available, knowledgeable and provided some interesting stories/ details to the Bhutanese culture and life. Ps: Yak holidays' choice of hotels are just amazing 😉
- petrf202300Amazing Bhutan Experience with Yak HolidaysTwenty years ago I made a trip to the Himalayas. I was dreaming about visiting Bhutan but at that time it was not possible. I am very glad that it became possible in autumn of 2022. The trip, though very short, exceeded my expectations. I am particularly grateful to Sithar of Yak Holidays Int’l for all the support he provided.
- Yunnnz00Great Experience! My friend and I emailed Yak Holidays for our Bhutan trip and Sithar had been the liaison person. He is very responsive, and tries to assist us in thr best ways possible. He even accommodated to our request when we wanted to watch the festivals, and drafted a new itinerary efficiently. Our flight and all were booked, and we really didn't have to do anything besides sending in our passport details/ photos. When we arrived, our guide (Tashi) and driver (Kishore) were waiting for us outside the arrival hall. Kishore was very akillful with his driving skills, navigating through the long, winding roads, and went slow because one of us was having motion sickness. Tashi was also very thoughtful, brought us for short hiking trips so that we can acclimatize to the altitude in preparation for the hike to Tiger's Nest. Bhutanese we meet throughout the trip were very friendly, always welcoming us with a smile! We never went hungry because they really feed us with a lot of (good) food. Hotel stays were alright. The rooms were very nice and big. Basic amenities are there. Food was good for some of them. One or two hotel rooms were a bit cold, as the room is huge with only one heater. You can always ask for extra heater, just that we didn't. Overall, the 7D6N trip was really unforgettable! Recommend to travel with Yak Holidays as they are really very responsive, and accommodating.
- leephingt00Visit to Bhutan with Yak HolidaysJust got back from Bhutan with Yak Holidays. During the initial planning , we approached a few other tour operators before deciding to go with Yak. Throughout the whole planning process, we found Mr Sithar easy to work with and also very accommodating. .Always very prompt to reply to my emails and questions and that did make us feel at ease. From the minute we landed in Paro, we were taken good care of by Lal(guide) and Nima (driver).Lal was very informative, patiently sharing his knowledge of his country, culture and history ofall the places we visited. We even get the chance to visit a local market in Thimphu.Nima was a good driver and we felt safe with him behind the wheels especially in some parts of the roads which were quite challenging. We had a great time in Bhutan and it was very nice of Sithar to meet us in person. Thanks to Sithar and his team for making the trip to their amazing and beautiful country very memorable.
- SushRai00Bhutan Travel with Yak HolidaysMy trip to Bhutan with Yak holidays was very pleasant from the very beginning to the end. I have nothing but praise for Mr Sithar and his team. The driver and the guide who were with me were highly knowledgeable. In the near future if anyone decides to travel to Bhutan I would highly recommended Yak Holidays Int'l.
- itsnakitaaa00Bhutan trip experience with Yak Holidays Int'lYak Holidays Int'l arranged a 15 day tour for me as a solo traveller. I cannot say enough about the extremely high level of service they provided me from the moment I arrived at Paro to my departure. I can only thank Mr Sithar Tamang for the excellent service and flexible itinerary he provided me, with quick and courteous answers and was constantly in touch with me. I would also like to thank Mr Tashi (driver) and Mr Jigyme (guide) for keeping me safe and as well as entertained throughout the entire 15 days I was in Bhutan both the guide and the driver had immense knowledge about the history and culture of Bhutan. Overall my Bhutan trip was amazing and all thanks to the team of Yaks Holidays Int'l and can't wait to explore more of Bhutan soon for eastern bhutan tour.
- ForeverHappyTrails00Exquisite Himalayan Kingdom! My husband and I spent 6 days travelling in beautiful Bhutan with Yak Holidays Int'l. The scenery was breathtaking, the history fascinating and the people were warm and welcoming. Our guide, Milan and our driver, Tashi took very good care of us. Milan had immense knowledge regarding the history and culture of his beautiful country and shared it with great pride. Tashi was an excellent driver and negotiated those challenging roads with grace, patience and expert skill. We felt very safe and cared for in the hands of Milan and Tashi at all times. We celebrated our 30th anniversary while in Bhutan and Milan took the time to inform our hotel of this. The hotel decorated our room for the occasion and had a special table set up for us at dinner at Milan's request. My husband became ill the night before our hike up to Tiger's Nest so regrettably we had to postpone this adventure for another time. The staff at the Himalayans Keys Forest Resort were very kind and caring. They continually checked in on us and made my husband homemade soup to assist with his recovery. Milan and Tashi took me to town to do some shopping and a little exploring. I highly recommend Yak Holidays when visiting beautiful Bhutan. Milan and Tashi made the trip memorable! Thank you to you both!!!
- C B00Seamless and Spectacular TourYak Holidays is extremely responsive and worked with me to make the perfect itinerary for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Bhutan. Our guide Jigme was very flexible in ensuring we got to see (and eat!) everything we wanted to during our trip, and our driver Yota did a great job in chauffeuring us across the country. Would highly recommend Yak Holidays to anyone looking to travel to Bhutan.

We had a fabulous trip to Bhutan, thanks to Sithar and his team at Yak Holidays Int’l! I chose to work with Yak Holidays after corresponding with three different tour companies in Bhutan. They were the most responsive, the most flexible, and the most knowledgeable, and we were not disappointed. We spent eight days of trekking and three days of sightseeing. Our guide, Jigme, and his support group did a great of leading us through some of the most spectacular scenery we have ever experienced, and then Jigme introduced us to Paro, Thimphu, and Punaka. Sithar (the owner of the company) met us personally at the end of the tour to ensure that we had been well led, well fed, and well introduced to Bhutan. I would not hesitate to give Yak Holidays the very best recommendation for a tour of Bhutan

I took a 8-days/7-nights solo trip of western Bhutan with Yak Holidays and I'm glad I did: since our first emails and during the planning of the trip, everyone at Yak has been super professional and kind, ready to answer any question and provide help and suggestions.
The trip itself was impeccably organized. My guide Milan and driver Kishore were always there to help, provided every kind of service but were also discreet enough to let me experience the country at my own pace and take the time I needed. All the hotels were good value for money and the overall experience was top-notch. Thanks to Yak Holidays I feel like I've made the most of the relatively brief time I could spend in this incredible country.

I had the most amazing time visiting Bhutan which had been on my bucket list for some time, especially the Tiger's Nest Monastery. Sombir, my driver and Milan, my guide were absolutely wonderful, very knowledgeable and professional. They would make suggestions for best places to take photos and they were just so nice and friendly. The hot stone bath was to die for, especially after the trek to Tiger's Nest. I'm so glad I chose Yak Holidays, they did a wonderful job arranging every aspect of my trip. Highly, highly recommended.

Everything was taken care of by Yak Holidays, We were in Bhutan in March for a 12 day cultural tour. We saw everything we wanted to. Because it was just my wife and I if we wanted to change the itinerary it was no problem. Our guide Mandhoj and driver Yota were wonderful. I have no idea how Yota drove through those mountain passes with Yaks, dogs, rocks, cows, horses, landslides etc almost every step of the way. Mandhoj is an amazing man, his English was great as was his Spanish- he is a passionate guide, and extremely knowledgeable. All of the hotels were good, and all of the stops worthwhile

We’ve just finished a 9-day trip with a packed itinerary including Paro, Thimpu, Punakha and the 3-day/ 2-night Chelela trek.
Very professional and courteous guide and driver arranged by Yak Holidays. They were also the least expensive (I’ve asked for a number of quotes for the same itinerary).
Very helpful in the planning stage too, prompt responses on email and always following up on requests and promises.
I can only recommend this agency to anyone who wants to experience the best of Bhutan.

I've worked closely with Mr Sithar and Yak Holidays Int'l for over a year and he is an incredibly reliable, friendly and down-to-earth travel operator to cooperate with for tours to Bhutan. His team of guides are punctual, knowledgeable, and show what the true side of Bhutan has to offer. There's no other better choice in Bhutan. Highly recommend for all your travel needs.

Just came back from 7 Days trip to Thimpu-Punakha-Gangtey-Paro on 27 Oct - 2 Nov.
There're hiccups here and there, hotels were not the same as per itinerary or even the one listed on visa letter.
There's nothing to see at Royal Botanic garden as there's no flower during this cold season. I wondered why Yak put in the itinerary? It's better to have different itinerary based on the season?
And because I requested Chele La Pass, Sithar was very kind to oblige and included Chele La Pass to my itinerary together with Tiger Nest trip. The thing is I didn't manage to go the Chele La Pass because the tour guide said it's far from Paro!
Any comment about this Sithar?
As for my tour guides (Milan and Tashi), both were a good tour guide! Learned a lot about Bhutan especially from Tashi. Thanks for the stories
All in all I'd say my trip was not a bad one, Thanks Yak Holiday Int'l :)

Our trip to Bhutan with Yak Holidays was superbly organised. We have absolutely nothing to comment apart from giving them praise. The hotels that were proposed were perfect, not luxurious but they all gave us a taste of Bhutan. All hotels were comfortable and all were clean with properly equipped pleasant rooms. Food was tasty but not very varied.
The trip emphasized Bhutan’s beautiful traditions and culture.
Our guide and driver were perfect. Tashi 1 (guide) and Tashi 2 (driver) were extremely friendly and contributed to give us a great time. Tashi 1 gave us plenty of explanations, stories and anecdotes. Tashi 2 was a good driver and we felt totally safe with him, in spite of some parts of the roads.
The cream on the cake was obviously the Tiger’s Nest and we had a perfect day. Sunny, not too warm, not too many visitors, just perfect. We are proud that (at our age) we managed to reach the Tiger’s Nest without any problem. Slow but safe and sure.
