Great memories
Dec 2019
Yak Intl (Sithar) arranged an absolutely wonderful visit to Bhutan. He was easy to deal with by (email) even though there was a 12 hr time difference.

We are back home now with lots of great memories and images. The Yak tour guide and driver (Kinga and Nima) showed us their country in a very caring, thoughtful and in a very personalized way. Kinga is a budding artist, and gave us great insights into Thangka art. The sites and activities chosen kept us busy, interested, but did not fatigue us. Our visit happened between festivals, but Sithar was able to put on a nice cultural program with some local artists. The food and lodgings were excellent, and we were able to get some recipes from the cooks to take back home. Ema datshi is now a staple in our home.
Kinga and Nima were outstanding tour guides and companions. We were very well taken care of. My compliments on having an incredibly competent and caring team.

A good trip to beautiful Bhutan
Oct 2019
Just came back from 7 Days trip to Thimpu-Punakha-Gangtey-Paro on 27 Oct - 2 Nov.
There're hiccups here and there, hotels were not the same as per itinerary or even the one listed on visa letter.
There's nothing to see at Royal Botanic garden as there's no flower during this cold season. I wondered why Yak put in the itinerary? It's better to have different itinerary based on the season?
And because I requested Chele La Pass, Sithar was very kind to oblige and included Chele La Pass to my itinerary together with Tiger Nest trip. The thing is I didn't manage to go the Chele La Pass because the tour guide said it's far from Paro!
Any comment about this Sithar?

As for my tour guides (Milan and Tashi), both were a good tour guide! Learned a lot about Bhutan especially from Tashi. Thanks for the stories

All in all I'd say my trip was not a bad one, Thanks Yak Holiday Int'l :)

Superb!
Oct 2019 • Couples
Our trip to Bhutan with Yak Holidays was superbly organised. We have absolutely nothing to comment apart from giving them praise. The hotels that were proposed were perfect, not luxurious but they all gave us a taste of Bhutan. All hotels were comfortable and all were clean with properly equipped pleasant rooms. Food was tasty but not very varied.

The trip emphasized Bhutan’s beautiful traditions and culture.

Our guide and driver were perfect. Tashi 1 (guide) and Tashi 2 (driver) were extremely friendly and contributed to give us a great time. Tashi 1 gave us plenty of explanations, stories and anecdotes. Tashi 2 was a good driver and we felt totally safe with him, in spite of some parts of the roads.

The cream on the cake was obviously the Tiger’s Nest and we had a perfect day. Sunny, not too warm, not too many visitors, just perfect. We are proud that (at our age) we managed to reach the Tiger’s Nest without any problem. Slow but safe and sure.

Excellent Bhutan Tour Company
May 2019 • Solo
Yak Holidays took good care of my 9-day holiday through Bhutan. They tailored the trip to my interests and provided an outstanding guide and driver, Jigme and Dorji Drukpa. The guide was knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating to see places having more interest to me. The driver did an outstanding job in what was at times challenging circumstances due to road conditions. It was a pleasure to work with Jigme and Dorji, and my tour through Bhutan will be memorable due to their dedicated service. I would highly recommend Yak Holidays for touring Bhutan.

Bhutan--one of the top destinations in my bucket list that I wanted to visit since ages. So, when I finally decided to go ahead with my dream destination, Yak Holidays chimed in. I booked a trip with them last year August and from airport pick up to drop off, it was flawless. Being a solo female traveler, I had so many questions for Sithar about the country, trip etc. And he was very prompt, courteous to answer all my queries and was constantly in touch with me. Sithar took care of all my permits, flights and even changed one of the hotels that I didn't like in Paro without any fuss. Though I was traveling solo but my guide Jigme and driver Guruji became my companions for those 8 days. Both of them highly knowledgeable, very friendly and the best part-very accommodating. No rush, no hurry to finish my hikes or exploration to local places. I fell sick due to some bad food on my very first day and I was afraid that I might have to skip some of the monasteries or hikes from my itinerary but Jigme assured me that we can cover all of the stuff once I feel better. And yes, we were able to do everything after one day break from the scheduled itinerary without any rush again. I stayed in some of the most unexpected kinda resorts like the one in Punakha where I was the only guest in the resort and another one where I experienced the rainbow touching down the Greenland right from my hotel room’s porch. Bhutan is an amazingly but not so explored kind of country..Ppl,food,place..I fell in love with everything as soon as I stepped in and now it’s forever kind of love that I have for this country☺
Thanks Sithar, Jigme and Guruji for making my trip memorable. I would definitely book another trip with you guys to discover another side of your beautiful country called-Bhutan:)

Beware of this unethical Agency
May 2019
I booked a Toyota Hiace with Yak Holidays for 7 days. We were charges Rs 4500/day for the vehicle & another 1500 for the early morning Airport drop. While i was getting the same vehicle from Ideal Travel Creations for a much better rate i decided to go with Yak Holidays after reading their reviews on tripadvisor. Since we would be living at Hotel Terma Linca & Hotel Naksel which were outside the city I had informed the owner of Yak Holidays International, Mr Sithar, that we would need to use his vehicle to go for dinner to town everyday & he had agreed to it over email before making our reservation. I was also told by Mr Sithar over Email that since Indians are not required to have a guide i would be provided a driver who would double up as a guide.
Our driver’s name was Yuda. He was a cheerful guy & knew the roads well but he had no idea about the tourist spots & their timing. We missed seeing most tourist sites as we reached most places at the wrong time. Not only was Yuda not qualified for a guide he didn’t know much about the right time to visit the tourist sites either. We had informed Mr Sithar about our itenary in advance at the time of making the reservation however he did not care to inform us that even Indians need permits to visit Dochula or Punakha. Generally the agent takes care of these permits but Mr Sithar refused to help us in getting the permits as according to him that was not his job. When i called Mr Sithar to politely request for his help in getting the permits he was very rude on the phone & started talking about how we were using his cars for a longer time than permitted. This was a complete lie as Mr Sithar had clearly agreed over Email that we could use his vehicle for going for dinner. Neither Mr Sithar nor his driver knew that the office that issues permits is closed on national Holiday & we again wasted our time in going to the immigration office only to find out later that it was closed for the day. Yuda was inefficient but he was a friendly & cheerful guy & he informed us that Yak Holidays & Mr Sithar treats their drivers very badly & only pays them Rs 300/day while they charge several thousands from their clients. Our driver also informed us how Mr Sithar was a verbally abusive man & generally does not get repeat guests. I would advise all tourists to be very careful about this agency. They take your full payment in advance or upon arrival into Bhutan & then you are left with no option but to complete your tour with them.

Hi Mr. Piyush, we appreciate the feedback and opportunity to respond. The important thing to note here is that we did not offer you a tour package when we started discussing but only the car rental (including driver) with Yak Holidays. It was not our responsibility to provide you with a tour or to process your permits for sightseeing. It’s not fair to expect those services when only paying for the rental vehicle. The driver we provided, Mr Yuda, speaks Hindi and knows the sightseeing places in Thimphu, Paro and Punakha. He has been driving in Bhutan for over 10 years and has always had great reviews from our past guests. He is however a driver and can't be expected to know everything a tour guide would. When guests book tours with us we normally provide both a driver and a guide in the package. Feel free to email me or give me a call and I’ll be happy to discuss this in more detail and work this out.

I have visited Bhutan three times with Yak Holidays. They are a very good company with great communication. I have had three different guides for my tours, but they have all been good. The vehicles are in perfect/new condition and the drivers are great.
