- Flyer3261970 contributionsUnique and incredible time experiencing Greece with GrecopathsMy family and I had a wonderful time with each of the experiences Stavroula and her fabulous team arranged for us on our recent trip to Napflio and Spetses. A cooking class in the village, boat trips, mythological treasure hunt for our young children, horseback riding, pottery class, truffle hunting, dinner with music and dancing at a farm, and terrific tours of the archeological sites. Everything was arranged so thoughtfully to provide an authentic and unique experience. We cannot recommend Grecopaths strongly enough for a truly wonderful trip to Greece.Written September 2, 2024

- P W0 contributionsFun, friendly, we LOVED it!My boys (7/5/4 year olds) loved the adventure and tour around Nafplio. Our guides were wonderful - friendly, insightful and generous. We made a few stops around town while the boys solved some age appropriate challenges, no spoilers but they were all linked to the myth of Heracles - my children love the story so enjoyed the challenges but anyone could get involved as my 4 year old did. We were treated to local delicacies and plenty of local insights as we wandered around town. One of the highlights of our trip to Greece.Written April 7, 2024

Having a guide made it so much more worthwhile and interesting. Then we met Stavro and Fasili for a delicious lunch (so much food!) and cooking lesson at a family-owned and run restaurant, where we made cheese pie and stuffed peppers and eggplant. - bakonline0 contributionsMycenae, its myths and context. An amazing and deeply informative tour of Mycenae, comprising myth, lore, archeology, and geography. Theo was deeply knowledgeable across the breadth of the history of the Mycenaen era, and took his time discussing it all in detail. From the historical aspects, to the mythology, to the archeologic digs and discoveries, he brought the site alive for us and helped us appreciate the significance of it. He ended the tour at the cemetery just inside the Lion’s Gate, instructing us to continue on without him. This was the perfect end to the formal tour, allowing us to contemplate all he had presented, as we walked through the acropolis itself. Because of the rich experience here, we spent five hours in the "must see" National Archeological Museum upon our return to Athens at the end of our trip. Thank you Stavroula and your terrific guide, Theo.Written December 7, 2023
- MariamAziz0 contributionsWonderful experience; highly recommended! We had a wonderful hike with Grecopaths, I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a smooth experience navigating the beauty of Greece! Communicating with Stavroula, the owner, over WhatsApp and email was seamless, she was very helpful in finding the right hike for our requirement and facilitating communication about details of the chosen hike. On the day of the hike, our guide Myra and her colleague Haralambos were waiting for us on time at the agreed upon location, wonderfully welcoming. The Apollos Path hike was beautiful, very scenic. Myra and Haralambos were delightful to hike with and had great knowledge of the region. Thank you for a wonderful time!Written November 25, 2023

- FlorenceBeeGal0 contributionsSnorkeling and eating around Nafplio - YES!While in Nafplio, I was able to go snorkeling to the sunken city with Stavroula and Vasilis. They picked me up at the port, took me to see a few sites, and drove me through the beautiful countryside to an underwater archeological marvel. They provided me with a snorkel, towel and delicious home made snack. I lost all sense of time in the amazing wonderland beneath the waters. The water was clear, and full of fish. It was hard to believe how close we were able to go to the underwater ruins. After a relaxing time in the water, we went to a local restaurant with fresh fish and many delicacies, like sardines, calamari, stuffed peppers, baked feta, and a memorable codfish with a garlic sauce I truly enjoyed immensely. We also stopped by a small family pasta making operation, and picked up fresh pasta, local olive oil (very special to the area) and my favorite, honey. My guides made me feel at home, safe and well cared for. We had a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about the history of the area. I highly recommend Grecopaths for anyone unfamiliar with the area, for a personalized, easy-going and energizing visit. This excursion was a highlight of my trip to Greece.Written September 1, 2023
- tomsG2052MK0 contributionsFantastic trips to Mycenae and EpidaurusWe (a family of 5) had several amazing trips organised by Stavroula at Grecopaths. First up was a tour of Mycenae with Vera - it was a very informative and enjoyable tour. The next day we followed it up with a sea kayak tour near Epidaurus which was fantastic - the organisation and guiding were superb and the kids loved seeing the 'small' theatre and especially the snorkeling over the sunken villa. We then went to the main theatre in the afternoon with Vera again which didn't disappoint and we all enjoyed enormously. All the organisation was quick, efficient and stress less and everything went really smoothly. Stavroula as also really helpful with local recommendations (beaches, restaurants etc.). A great experience.Written August 7, 2023

This was a fantastic experience! Carola was so knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of Nafplio. Riding along the shore was gorgeous and Carola adjusted the pace for us. My husband could ride ahead and if I was tired, she walked her bike alongside me. This is a great way to see the city!

Our family of 5 ( 2 aduts, 15, 13 and 8 year old kids) had a wonderful day with Stavroula and Carola in late june. they are able to create an itinary to suit your needs. so we visited an ancient mycenean bridge, 3500 yr old oive tree, hiked the healing path of epidaurus with stream side snacks, snorkelled the sunken beach ( with a wonderful olive and oilve oil tasting at this site). we also visited a traditional greek family who shared their lifestye with us/fed us/told us stories of the german/italian occupation. At the end of the day they wanted to do more activities but we were exhausted. all of these activites were made even more special by the local knowledge of Stavroula/carola. In addition they were so frendly and enthusiastic that we all thought ( even the kids- impressive !) it was one of our best days in Greece. value for money you will not get a better deal- if you visit this area do not miss out on this experience.

Stavroula (Grecopaths cofounder) met us right on time for an all-day itinerary that would leave us feeling a part of Greece before the day ended. We first walked the village (Nafplio) for a while. Stavroula grew up in Nafplio so she really knew her stuff. We started early before the crowds gathered and we stopped for some real Greek coffee at a restaurant on the wharf. We learned how to brew the coffee right at our table and it was delicious. We also ate some local pastries. Afterwards we walked more of the village while Stavroula explained everything.
Next, we drove to a small fishing village and had a traditional Greek fish tasting (too much food but oh so delicious). The meal included unlimited wine and Ouzo (something like moonshine back home).
With our bellies full and feeling good it was time for our next excursion up in the hills with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside at a private winery and olive farm. But before we arrived to our destination, we stopped at a ruins which was an amphitheater carved out of a rock hillside. Stavroula explained that it was built over 2000 years ago and was still functional. She stood in the center of the stage (ground) and recited some ancient Greek passage while we sat in the carved rock benches. We could hear her perfectly; the acoustics were amazing. She encouraged us to do the same and I was blown away at the sound reverberation.
We continued on to the private winery where we had a home cooked meal and more unlimited wine and you guessed it.....Ouzo. The owner family joined us for the meal, and everyone had a wonderful time. After the meal (too much food again) we were guided through the vineyards and olive groves by the owner. It happened to be harvest time for the olives and I was able to help for a short while.
It was near the end of our tour and we said good-bye to Stavroula with hugs and kisses at the Nafplio wharf. Now we have a new friend in Greece. I will be returning next year.
What a wonderful day.

My bike tour with Stavroula from Grecopaths was the absolute highlight of my vacation last week!
Stavroula is a wonderful guide, familiar with all the nooks and crannies of Nafplio, her beautiful hometown. When I first met her early in the morning, I immediately fell in love with her warmth and tremendous energy. She and her business partner Panos (a skilled chef who runs the culinary side of Grecopaths) had been thoughtful enough to bring 2 bikes so I could choose the one I felt most comfortable with. Stavroula also brought plenty of water, fruit and even a delicious homemade cake. What more could anyone ask for?
We cycled around the village, up and down picturesque hills, passed an impressive well-kept monastery, and rode all the way down to the beach in the neighboring town of Tolo - while the deep blue sea and surrounding mountains in the distance supplied never-ending gorgeous views. Stavroula very quickly picked up on a pace which was super-comfortable for me, and while we sped down the hills, we rather took our time climbing them :) – which was great. I loved all the folktales and historic background which my knowledgeable guide imparted when we took breaks to admire the views and take photos. The next day, my wonderful guide sent me fabulous photos and even a video.
I will never forget the amazing experience of my bike tour with the fabulous Stavroula in beautiful Nafplio.

My wife and I had the most amazing day with our guide, Carola. She is extremely knowledgeable about all the historical landmarks in the old and new city as well as warm and personable. She speaks perfect English. One of the most wonderful highlights of the day was having authentic Greek coffee and cookies in a elderly grandmother’s home in the old city. We felt like we were in our bubba’s dining room.
We then walked to a Greek family bakery for yummy tastings and then on to a Greek pasta making factory and store. We visited with the owner and his team. For lunch we
walked through the kitchen of a Greek restaurant with the owner who showed us the food he was preparing. The restaurant was filled with locals and very delicious. We topped off the day with homemade Greek ice cream. This is a phenomenal tour that should not be missed!

We highly recommend Stavroula and her wonderful team at Grecopaths. I booked a day of wine tasting for my boyfriend's birthday and she was absolutely amazing! She met us at our hotel in Nafplio and made sure we were properly caffeinated before taking us to see the wonderful ruins, markets and sights of Argos. Then we fortified our bellies with delicious local breakfast items from a wonderful local bakery before arriving at a beautiful winery. We had a tour followed by a nice tasting. Then Panos her esteemed colleague and chef had set up the most wonderful seafood lunch at a small beautiful restaurant on the water. It turned out to be the best meal we had in our 3 weeks in Greece! It was DELICIOUS!!!! Then we had a nice coffee stop before returning to Nafplio for one more stop...We visited a sweet local grandmother who taught us how to make greek coffee. Stavroula and Panos even arranged a delicious chocolate and cherry cake for my boyfriend's birthday. We had such a wonderful time! At the end of our visit we felt like Stavroula was our dear friend who just happened to know everything there was to know about Greek culture, food and history. Her walking tour of Nafplio is wonderful as well! This is not your typical tour company, this company is very special and offers real experiences.
Thank you for everything Stavroula & Panos!

Tasting great food, immersing yourself in a different culture and learning about the origins of a diet that is now considered one of the healthiest in the world! This learning by experience study abroad short course in Greece for 12 University of Maryland students was organized in conjunction with GrecoPaths and Grecofoods. The lead organizers onsite, Stavroula and Panos were enthusiastic and professional and went all out to ensure that the students spent 2 active but fun weeks in the Peloponnese and Athens engaged in what many described as an ‘unforgettable learning experience.’ Some of the activities included trips to small farms, amazing meals, and wonderful hikes.
