About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- tshirt50 contributionsTour is very different from the descriptionThe hike and hanging glacier were incredible, 5-stars! One of the coolest things I’ve done in Chile (just a heads up, clouds can block the view for a while). However, in contrast to the description, it is a two hour hike up, each way (and we were the first ones to the top by far). You need waterproof boots too. And it’s a 4.5-5.5 hour drive each way (which is actually not too bad) I gave only three stars because the organization of the trip was poor. We were told to meet at some hotel at 6:30am, but we only got picked up at 8am (and we returned home around 10pm). We also didn’t eat lunch until around 4:45pm. All of this isn’t great, but not the end of the world. What I’m really upset with is my efforts in trying to communicate with Tangol. It was pulling teeth to be able to contact anyone for any help. I messaged the main help line for 2+ days needing assistance, and only after my trip ended did anyone contact me. I messaged to get an understanding of when we would get picked up with only slightly better luck - and they should be messaging me with that info! Bottom line: great hike, good tour guide, but having to deal with Tangol ever again would be too soon.Written November 5, 2023

Very good experience! You can see them from Puerto Rio Tranquilo or Puerto Sanchez. We slept in Bahia Murta and here we bought a cave exploring trip. The Austral highway is not in good condition. The drive from Villa Cerro Castillo is long and there is high risk of a tire puncture. That's why I shortened my commute to Bahia Murta.

Highly recommended, journey from Cerro Castillo to Puerto Río Tranquilo, very busy, only gravel, but the landscape and the experience are worth it
