- ariannat8100 contributionsMemorable experiencesI had the incredible opportunity to get to visit Myanmar during these times, and I truly enjoyed my time there. Jack brought me to Yangon’s hidden gems, showed me around and answered all my questions. We had an amazing time together! I did two tours with him: “Explore Old Yangon”, where we walked around the bustling Downtown and visited old churches and buildings, art galleries and bookstores, social shops, and open air markets. The tour also included food breaks, perfect occasion to get to know where locals hang out. The other tour was the visit to the Glass Factory, which included a treasure hunt. A magical experience in such a surreal place! Not only is Jack a superb and knowledgeable guide, but also he’s a truly nice person. I highly recommend Green Season Travel also because they focus on sustainability on all its aspect, and they support local development. I’d like to explore some other areas of the country next time I’ll visit Myanmar, and I’ll definitely ask Jack to guide me ☺️Written March 30, 2023

- ReneMacQ0 contributionsAmazing in country Myanmar travelDue to Covid-19 we have been 'stuck in Yangon for 5 months. The Government opened up domestic travel and we contacted Zaw Min Oo @ Jack. He arranged our accomodations, flight to Mandalay, road trips to Bagan, Kalaw and Inle Lake (smaller flight routes still not operational) and flight back from HeHo. The 10days were absolutely amazing. We stopped at many little places along our travels off the tourist track. The tours were informative and interesting and he didn't spare the effort to make it as fascinating and interesting as possible. It was like travelling with a friend, not a tour guide. Jack's passion for his country is contagious. Highly recommended.Written July 17, 2020
- Hannah_London7460 contributions9 days in Bagan/Pindaya/Inle LakeJack organised a brilliant 9 day tour of Myanmar. We wanted to experience local life and we couldn’t have done it without him! We spent 2 nights in Bagan, including a brilliant day with Lennie on a tour of the local Ayan villages in a 4x4, where we interacted with the village children and somehow found ourselves as guests of honour at a wedding. We then spent a night camping up a beautiful remote mountain and trekking through the mountains without another tourist in sight, stopping at villages along the way and getting a real taste of the local culture. All finished off with a couple of nights of welcome relaxation at Inle Lake. Jack is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic about his country and keen to make sure that his guests have a perfect holiday. We had a really great trip and would happily recommend Jack to anyone. Thank you!Written March 9, 2020

Our guide Khaw Ru and driver Guang were very professional and made our visit to the valley of rubies memorable. Thank you once again.Written March 3, 2020
- JimClaudia20160 contributionsEscape from the CitySince Kyaiktiyo appears in the book "500 Sacred Places of the World", we couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit the day before our regular Myanmar tour. Our driver picked us up promptly at our hotel at 6 a.m. accompanied by our guide Maggie in our own private vehicle. Along the way we stopped for a delicious breakfast at a roadside establishment and the traditional mohinga was perfect. We enjoyed passing local towns and their morning markets in full swing. The Golden Rock is certainly a sight to see and the bumpy truck ride up the hill was lots of fun sharing with the locals and laughing children. On the return trip, Maggie catered to my wife's special request to see elephants at the Winga Baw Conservation Camp....what a beautiful surprise! Lunch at another roadside place was fantastic with a nice farm fresh spread. We even stopped at a fruit stand to taste some of those incredible pomelos. We surely appreciated the special care and personal attention that was given to us on this adventure which was well worth it. Thanks Maggie for a memorable day!Written February 27, 2020
- Nashvillecleanfreak0 contributionsWow! Great tour and VERY responsive! We got messed up on our dates of arrival and Jack and his team fixed everything without batting an eye. We spent two lovely days with our tour guide and driver - we never even opened either of our doors ourselves the whole time...they thought of everything! The car was clean with great airconditioning. Our tour guide (I'm spelling his name wrong - sorry) Owe was extremely knowledgeable. I wanted to go sapphire and Rubie shopping and they took us to the best place first - very reasonable prices compared to US. And, for comparison to other shops..the first was the best. Owe was able to show us the most magical things in Mandalay without crowds around us at all. He made it possible for my husband to try his hand at gold leaf making, we chatted with 3 novice monks while watching the sunset, with the place on the hill practicably by ourselves. Whenever we asked to change up the schedule they totally accommodated. Jack was on top of communication with us several times a day and he pulled a rabbit out of his hat to make these two days work at the last minute. If you want to go to Mogok, the ruby city, contact them at least two weeks in advance to get permission from the government.Written February 23, 2020
- Ingrid22050 contributionsChin State, I want to go back!Last november we went on a four day trip to Southern Chin State with Zaw Min Oo AKA Jack and AungPhone Myint Kyaw AKA James. They picked us up at our hotel in Bagan in the morning, with a four-wheel drive and a friendly, helpfull driver. And then our trip started. We did several stops on our way to Chin State. Amongst others we stopped at a field where people where busy with the harvest of Sesame seeds. And there we were, 100 years back in time. The people were all so friendly, showed us what they were doing and took time for us. Jack and James knew a lot of the history, nature and culture over the things we saw on our way.In the afternoon we first stopped for a great lunch in a nearby village and from there we went to our first stop for the night, a nice wooden house for us, where we left our things and went on our way to a little hiking a bit further. Because I am a little afraid of Heights and steep ways they made a walking stick for me, that was a great help and we had a great walk. All the people we met on our way where all so friendly. And we saw the first ladies with tattood faces over there. On our way back we stopped at a friends house, a priest, who made us home made lemonade, with alcohol, so the trip down was a lot easier, and also a delicious snack with chicken. Back at our stop we went to bed for an early rise the second day. Because you are in the mountains, it get's cold in the night, so remember to ask for an extra blanket. On the second day, after a local breakfast, we started with a hike. Again beautiful nature and lovely people. After that we drove to the basecamp of Victoria Mountain, where Jack en James arranged motorbike 'taxi's'for us. Sometimes I had to close my eyes because of the heigts but the drove very safe. Before Climbing the last part we had our lunch, from the same restaurant as we had lunch the day before. Again, very good food! On top of the mountain a beautiful view over the area and after enjoying that for a while we went back to the base camp and further to our next over-night place. This was a kind of a basic guesthouse, water for shower was cooked on a fire, but I skipped it because of the temperature. It was close to zero. Just before sunset we went for a walk on our own to the nearby village and met a few of the local people. It's amazing to see the children playing without the toys the children at our homes are used to. The lady who went to call her goats, while smoking a pipe and others busy with preparing food. After sunset we waited by the fire untill our diner was ready. Again local food, what we most enjoy on our travels. The third day we went for a longer hike, with a great guide, who also owns a price-winning avocado plantation and we got to taste the first smoothie he made, with the smoothie maker Jack gave him. The hike was great. Beautiful views everywhere, the landscape was fantastic. Flowers, trees, the mountain-cows, the bridge over the river with the small waterfall. Over there we also had our lunch. After the lunch we came across a small village where we were invited to join a family celebration. Several tattoo-faced woman, smoking pipes, with their children and men shared their rice-wine with us in their small house. It was so good to join them and have a little look in their lives. Sometimes our walk went to a real jungle and our guide needed his big knife to cut us a way through the green. At the end of our hike, our driver waited for us and after thanking our guide we went on our way to Mindat. There we met a lady who was famous for blowing the noseflute, a very old lady, with tattoos and very big earrings. she gave us a small private concert! After that we visited a small Chin Traditional museum and saw the private collection of antiques. Showed to us by the owner and next in line to be the chieftain. From there we went for dinner, you guessed it, traditional food, and then to the last place for the night while staying in Chin State. Again a nice wooden hut, but it was allready dark so we could see the great view only the next morning. After breakfast we slowly headed back to Bagan, with again, lots of great stops and arriving in Bagan in the late afternoon. I forgot to mention a lot of things, we did see so many. and so many friendly people and lots of beautiful Chin dogs with puppys. I also bought some souvenirs, the baskets the Chin people use for example. I use them now at home, for storing some food in my kitchen, so I can remember our fantastic trip every day. Thank you, Jack and James for taking us on an unforgettable trip! Hope to see you again!Written February 13, 2020

- BarbaraK3710 contributionsYangon City TourWe just spent 2 incredible days with our amazing tour guide Jack, of Green Season Travel. We covered all of the highlights in Yangon (Rangoon) Myanmar. It was like having a role in “Parts Unknown,” (RIP Anthony Bourdain). We saw in 2 days what takes most ex-pats a year to discover! Jack takes you into small local cafes to taste the best noodles. And the tea leaf salad is incredible, and a bit different in every cafe. Jack helped us traverse the streets. We had our own private taxi, who was always there to meet us. We saw some of the most spectacular sites including the Shwedagon Pagoda complex (unreal!) Reclining Buddha, Chinatown, fruit and flower market, Circle train experience, and the Bogyoke market, where you can buy Myanmar rubies. If you visit Yangon, this is the best tour! So many “Hidden Treasures!” You won’t see the special places Jack can take you. Be prepared to hike/walk a bit, and the sidewalks are uneven. Take tissues and wet wipes along. Jack speaks English quite good. He is so accommodating and can adjust your tour. This is a tour you will never forget! He can take cruise passengers, but has to charge a bit more, as the port authorities give him an additional charge. ($20).Written December 11, 2019
- Z2557EJbrucem0 contributions12 Days In MyanmarJust returned from a 12 day trip to Myanmar. Our host/guide(s) Jack et al, were great. We were met at all of our destinations by a guide and driver. Accommodation was very comfortable, several with lots of character/history. Highlights were: 1) Boat Trip from Mandalay to Bagan on a small river boat that had 7 cabins. We really enjoyed ourselves cruising down the river. It was very relaxing and we got to see lots of activity along the river with a few stops for land tours here and there. 2) Bagan. We spent two days in Bagan. The first day was with a guide who showed us some of the more notable pagodas and also took us on a tour of a local farm village which we enjoyed. The second day we were on electric scooters and had lots of fun exploring around the place. 3) We flew from Mandalay to Heho and then got driven to Kalaw which is a small town in the foothills (elevation around 5000 feet). We stayed in a hotel that was at one time an English school. From here we rode bicycles for three days through the hills and ended up at Inle Lake. We had good quality Bianchi hybrids and the local driving population were very respectful to bike riders. 4) Inle Lake is very cool and where we encountered the most tourists. We enjoyed visiting the Inle Horse Club (where you can ride horses if you like) as well as the Red Mountain Estate Winery. These two venues are very close together and the winery is very well done. We also went around the lake in a long boat for a day which was a lot of fun. The people in this country are fabulous; friendly, polite, accommodating and we never once felt unsafe. There are a few cautionary notes for travelers to Myanmar. We took US $ which are readily accepted everywhere. However, at the airport money exchanges, if the bills were not in mint condition, they would not accept them. This includes any writing on the bill or the slightest tear. Secondly, our credit card company cancelled our card when we initially tried to pay for our trip. A lengthy discussion ensued between me and the credit card company but they indicated that there was a computer algorithm which was responsible for the cancellation and it could not be over ridden. Fortunately KimKim offered us an alternative payment through a wire transfer.Written December 11, 2019
- 419waka0 contributionsQuaint clean mountain valley cityOne of the best unspoilt tourist destinations in Myanmar this city is clean fresh and charming. Nestled beside the Aeyawadee river surrounded by Himalayan foothills the oxygen is superb. The roads are lined with beautiful giant trees that are even more awesome in autumn bloom. The city has everything from egg coffees to chic pubs clubs and diners with Melody, Perfect and Ledo Bar being the cool places to chill at night in Myitkyina. Nearby the city there are waterfalls and numerous other natural wonders the city itself hosts museums temples and a massive unique amber market coveted by fossil hunters. The city is very safe unlike Mandalay and Yangon you will be surprised with the cleanliness and sincerity of the people.Written November 24, 2019
- Rab T0 contributionsDay trip to Golden RockContacted Jack on very short notice and he accomodated us far beyond our expectations . From picking us up next morning at 6:30am taking us for traditional Burmese breakfast , stopping for a little longer than usual at the war cemetary (so we could pay our respects) , stopping to get photos at a local temple then stopping at a temple in Bago for more photos ,stopping at a little fruit stall to taste the wonderfull fruit on offer , then lunch which, he ensured the restaurant knew we were vegitarian, and we sat down plates of food that just kept coming (the food seemed never ending) , then onto the golden rock, which was absolutely stunning, beyond our expectation. We did not return to Yangon till around 21:30, but not before showing us where Aung San Suu Kyi lives. Jack has a very comfortable people carrier, great air-con, youll need it. He also provided us with bottles of freezing water, and refreshing towels. Jack and James(his co-worker) took excellent care of us and provided us with their excellent knowledge about their beautiful country. A big thank you must go out to Jack and our guide Mr James who stopped at nothing to make this trip a memory we will never forget and to make us want to come back so much to Burma to see the wonders it has to offer and to meet the lovely Burmese people .Its a very long day but absolutely worthwhile.Written October 9, 2019

Tour was fabulous! The guide is a true blue Burmese guy who is patient, polite and delivers an excellent customised package without ado. All this with a genuine form of simplicity and openness hard to come by these days. I was privileged to have a tour of Bagan with the guide Mr. Lay Naing His knowledge and expertise of the Bagan sites was breathtaking. I appreciated his stories of the many sites visited and how many of the lessons can relate to my life and travels. You can very much see that is Mr. Lay Naing proud of his culture and histories. His English speaking was impeccable. We had some laughs and all the time we’re good vibes. During the tour, I even asked 2 questions that no one has previously asked him (That was my proud moment and good fun). Thank you for the wonderful day Mr. Lay Naing I will recommend you to anyone traveling to Bagan.

He met with us, sorted out details and went out of his way to help in things way beyond the call of duty. He kept tabs on the goings on on an hourly basis to make sure nothing went wrong. Can’t expect more. Being a local, was able to give us best advice on almost everything.

A friend and I traveled to Myanmar together. We only had a few weeks and Jack was great at creating a well-timed itinerary around our desire to spend time on a boat in the Mergui Archipelago. We also went to Bagan and Inle. Jack made sure we had excellent transportation and guides in every spot. He gave a lovely and thorough half-day tour at Shwedegon Pagoda on one of our last full days in Yangon.
Jack and his group are highly recommended!
